I don't think injury played a significant role in Steph's dropoff because he still had some great games after coming back. If a player were injured, I'd expect an even decline in performance over most or all of his games instead.

As for other explanations, I think there are several good ones.

Klay and Steph are the 2 most inconsistent scorers of the top 20 scorers in the NBA during the regular season, at least from what I interpret from this graph that /u/Good_NewsEveryone made. This tells me that natural variance is a plausible explanation for a string of bad games from the Warriors. Maybe relying so much on the 3 is a higher variance way of playing. Maybe it means Steph and Klay have holes in their game that certain defenses can exploit.

It's also difficult to say Steph had a dropoff when trying to compare regular season performance to playoff performance. Defenses have time to learn and adapt against players. It's possible that Steph's game has some tricks that are more effective when playing against different teams every night, but can be snuffed out when playing against the same players in a series. They say defense gets tougher in the playoffs, and perhaps Steph's game is more easily stopped by lock-down defense.

There's also the fact that last even last year in the Finals series against the Cavs, we were all expecting a bigger series from Steph, but instead he had a substandard series (by Steph's standards) and the Finals MVP nod went to Iggy. The fact that it happened again this year points to factors other than injury. Maybe it's something particular about the Cavs' defense. Maybe Steph can't handle the pressure.

I'm pretty sure the 16-0 record is specifically just the start of a season. Whereas the winning streak of games goes across seasons. Congratulations! Bay Area native here, my 2 cents:

1. Oakland is most ideal, but like some others have said anywhere close to a BART station (our local train system) would work 'cause then you can commute via that daily. 2. 100k will let you be comfortable but won't let you ball out, but you can definitely get by with less if you're cool with roommates, or a less "hip" area to live in and don't have regular expensive tastes.

3. The best taco/burrito argument is a longstanding, never-will-be-answered argument in the Bay Area. You will find your favorite which you will steadfastly defend to the death once you get comfortable here.

4. If you want an older sister type best friend, sure!

5. I like Oakland better than Seattle (more brown people and, as a brown person, this is important to me), but it's all relative. I remember being able to eat really really well for much less whenever I visited, but I love the weather in Oakland way better.

Has this guy even read the scoresheets for the series? Our defense was terrible? Cant take the effort to do more than what i did in like 3 minute research. No mensioning of the second bestrim protector being injured.

My rebuttal would stand up well if it wasnt for the case that this guy is basing his Defensive trouble premise for next season on the final 7 games of a season when the Dubs were actually quite a strong defensive team all season long, considering pace and style. Havent we seen so many articles and videos about how good the Dubs' defense was? How it revolutionized it with "small-ball"

If you want to discuss defense, talk about the apparant recurrent defensive rebounding problems comming season. Talk about how they need to integrate a new guy into their defensive schemes with the switches. Maybe you have even seen Durant making a difference on D when he player the Dubs in the WCF. Maybe youve even seen McCaw rebounding and playing D in the summer league.

Eh, I enjoy the youngsters far more without Draymond on the court with them. I thought I was imagining things but the eye test doesn't lie. It'll be interesting to see how they adapt once Draymond will almost be required to play next year for a playoff push. When he's on the court with them he almost as Nate Duncan says "Draymond-tifies" the offense with him standing at the top of the key waiting for cutters or shooters instead of playing a more fluid game.

It was a pretty interesting thought experiment into this year's FA. I don't think most casual fans realize how little cap space there is this year. Approx only $300m in total space. Next year projects to be in the mid $500m's.

That means there is going to be a glut of FA taking the min or mid level or mini MLE. The guys you could get on the mini MLE (tax payer mid) could realistically be a guy like Bradley or favors or gay (ariza Barton and those guys are in a tier above and will command mid level money in the 9 to range annually).

You can always do international league pass where there is no blackouts. There’s a few ways to do it but one way is to purchase a year of VPN service along with an international league pass subscription (a lot of time cheaper than regular league pass). I took an MBSR class this year, based on his book Full Catastrophe Living. I'd recommend the class to anybody, particularly if you have chronic pain or anxiety. It's been really helpful to me and I do the meditation exercises his book recommends every day.

Having said that, the book gave me the impression that I would find the man ridiculously irritating to be around.
