Anecdotal but it's definitely true in my case. My grandpa taught me to read when I was 4 years old (shoutout to There's a Dragon in My Wagon) and 20 years later I published my first children's book.
But beware. Sometime between May the 4th and Cinco de Mayo...
Then comes the revenge
So when you transitioned to female(?), why did you look at the woman from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as your inspiration?

Ankari, you are awesome for doing this. Thank you. Even if you don't choose my novel, you still rock.
I'd like to throw in my novel Dämoren. 8 points
Urban Fantasy/Action Horror story about demon hunters, a possessed man, and a holy revolver. First couple chapters are free to check out before you buy.
(Professional Artist +1, Professional Editing +2, Nook.com +2, Goodreads and Booklikes +1, Just under $5 +2) I've been told it's grimdark, but I don't think it meets all the definitions. It's dark...but maybe not grimdark.
And again....you're awesome.
Not as uplifting as I thought it would be... > Eventually, descendants of Matalamaki returned to the home and asked Heart to return the medal to the war hero’s family.
This lady's been golluming that thing for years and the family finally asked for it back.
I am trying to show you, though. I'm not trying to be a dick here. I'm not trying to stereotype teenage girls, but I know from repeated, constant, and painful experiences.
I once got banned from a website because I exposed an SJW, and some of my fans who were female and teenage immediately made death threats.
It wasn't like what happens here on KIA. On KIA, the last thing you expect anyone to write in one of these threads is shit like this:

I'm honestly convinced that if any GGers who tweeted abuse at Sarkeesian were teenage boys. I just don't see the stereotype of adult men doing this as being based in truth. Maybe there are some, but I just don't believe it.
^^ This is 100% real. I got banned from Wattpad over this and ended up losing three years of work because I was held responsible for what they said.
Teenage girls: this is just how they are. And the fact that males receive so much blame ... it's bullshit.
I believe it’s “Mysteries of the Unknown: Monsters, Ghosts & UFO’s” by Christopher Maynard, Ted Wilding-White, and Carey Miller. At least, this one was translated to several languages, I know this cause it was also published under the name «Монстры, привидения, НЛО» in Russia, yet it had another cover design (a cartoon-ish ghost flying in front of a dark spooky house).
However, when I tried to google “Potwory, duchy, UFO”, I found a book called “Duchy potwory i inne tajemnice” by Rhiannon Lassiter, John Duncan, John Guy, which seems way more popular among Polish readers. Also seems like it’s pretty much the same collection of stories and facts.
In French they called the novel Mortimer and refer Mort to Mortimer exclusively, and to Death as La Mort.
Italian has a similar problem, so they call it Morty l'apprendista.
The European translators of Pratchett have always had an absolute field day, especially because Pratchett gave them free reign to find appropriate puns and wordplay that exist in their language where direct translations did not work.
I wish pilgrimkitty had given James Nicoll his due credit for that quote. After all he's been through.... http://booklikes.com/upload/post/5/1/azure_512d5278184d1fac37f5693669aa0905.png
Heres the cover design I'm looking for.

My PoliSci professor, who is an over 40 year old Latin American dude by the way, talked about how much he liked Jordan Peterson and how good he thinks his book is.
Keep in mind, this dude called himself a feminist and was pretty for Bernie Sanders so I just... I.... I do... I... exasperated sigh
Oh! I have decscended DEEP into internet land and nostalgia now. Could it also be Marcel the Pastry Chef? Another image here if you scroll down a bit.
> Neither the Ferengi nor the Borg were named in their respective episodes; they were just random aliens.
and this
...doesn't look like "random aliens" to me. They're pretty clearly Ferengi and a Borg drone, respectively.
> if one is going to pick nits
Showing humans making contact with aliens they're not supposed to meet for two hundred or so years is not "picking a nit"; it's sloppy writing!
> you have to focus on DS9 and VOY. Quark was on DS9 for a number of years, long enough that it's ridiculous that he wouldn't have met one hu-mon, and then there's the Hansens.
DS9 and VOY happened after TNG, chronologically, so this is not a mistake. For someone who is a self-proclaimed fundamentalist about canon, you're surprisingly misinformed. I can't tell whether you're twisting yourself into knots to defend Enterprise or just "trolling".
The irony is that for all of some fan's complaining about fans quibbling about obscure trivia, these are pretty egregious mistakes.
I switched over to BookLikes - I prefer it because it's a very community-orientated site, they're constantly updating/tinkering around with the site and for now the community feels comfortably tiny. It's sort of like Goodreads, but it feels more like a community of blogs.
