Now I feel like traveling to ~~Egypt~~ Meracydia, to kill some evil, time stopping vampire while traveling with an old guy with bad english, a doggo with a tude, a guy with silly hair, a magician dressed in red and ~~Haucherfant~~, ~~Kakyoin~~ someone that will surely die.
That hairstyle is the runner up from the hairstyle design contest! It's finally in!
> To ignore the plight of those one might conceivably save is not wisdom—it is indolence.
Said to the twins' father in a similar situation here
In-world they're considered as adults. One of the tales from the calamity short stories: > the twins were now sixteen summers old─old enough to be considered of age in Sharlayan society
So it'd make sense that they're allowed to drink.
This is a great example. Like why on earth would you just randomly have an open spot in your lower back? Might as well add a sign that says "Stab here please."
Hoping that the Regal tunic of aiming is added to the game first, since I like the aesthetically pleasing design that it has and hope that we're allowed to see our ears in the final product if they add it. I doubt it though.
I don't expect to see them until next expansion though.
Xande gets some mild updates, but certainly will be excellent for his own Lufenia.
LD board changes:
- LD attack executes 3 times
- +2 overhead effect on LD use, allowing for faster ramp up
- Overhead effect now has 30% Crit DMG, HP DMG +20%, Elemental Weakness DMG +30%
For all things Xande, please use our website! https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/infographics/xande
Check out the background art here
Best of luck with Lufe and your pulls!
I'm pretty sure they do know, or Louisoix and Minfillia did, at least. From Tales of the Calamity, The Walker's Path: >!The Archon’s plan was to summon the Twelve using forbidden arts known only to him. With their combined strength, he was certain that he could prevent the fall of the lesser moon. Such strength, however, posed a threat in itself. Should Eorzea’s patron deities assume physical form, it seemed more than likely that they would be prone to the same appetites as the gods of the beastmen. Should that prove the case, their mere presence would bleed the land of life. And so Louisoix would instead call upon a fraction of the Twelve’s power—enough to stay Dalamud’s descent, and no more.!< Maybe they didn't name them primals, but they certainly compared them to the primals and noted that summoning them carried the same risks, so I think they guessed at least.
These stories either happen in the past or alongside the main story, they aren't integral to the story but they provide a backstory for some major NPCs or a window to what they are doing when you don't see them around. You definitely should read it all, along with
Heavensward https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/2015/short_stories/#sidestory_01
There's actually official accounts written from the perspective of the various Grand Company leaders (and even Louisoux) covering most of what you probably would like to know, and you can find those here!
Well, if you are playing on the same server, you could get an ingame wedding service, which is a whole, special service you can buy for an ingame ceremony with cutscenes.
16 year olds are considered adults, at least in Sharlayan:
>Recent graduates of the Studium, the twins were now sixteen summers old─old enough to be considered of age in Sharlayan society.
The Japanese community use the term 'Wakaba' 若葉 (new leaves) referring to sprouts, but the official websites mostly uses 'Beginner' 初心者/ビギナー to refer to these players. Both of these terms are interchangeable and everyone knows.
In case you are wondering, Wakaba is not limited to FFXIV. It's a Japanese word that is used to described youth. Besides 14, There's also the 若葉マーク Wakaba Mark that's used to indicated people who has got their driver's license within a year.
A bit of trivia, but in one of the recent fanart contests that FFXIV likes to do, they almost chose Jotaro's outfit as a Striking set that would have been in the game.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/gdcdps/5Gwu4OUjgM/m014.png
It was one of the top runners up for that contest.
Probably the short stories? Like Tales from the Dragonsong War and Tales from the calamity.
For some reason, I believe the idea is that since you're not in the thick of things with a ranged character, you can have more style and less armor to your gear (when history shows that's kinda dumb) but we're also running on Final Fantasy styles here - while tactical may be cool, it doesn't fit the aesthetic of a heavily anime inspired series like Final Fantasy.
That said, I really hope this one gets in. It's a really nice bridge between Final Fantasy styles and modern military styles. Perfect? Not by a long shot, but it DOES look good.
Because it got deleted and replaced with a new CM featuring the Miqo'te without said ears.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/anniversary/na/detail/memoir_5.html?rgn=na&lng=en
According to this, the twins would be sixteen years old.
Gameplay wise we learn spells in a certain order, but that doesn't necessarily mean it works the same for everyone.
He and Alisaie are 16 years old, so his lack of experience on the battle due to his young age and diplomatic nature would explain his limited kit in my opinion.
They said it was from a contest design.
You have to download the free trial through the free trial application process. You can't download the client from here: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
The full client, which I linked, requires a person who registered the starter or better to the game before a free trial user can use it.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/na/detail/fees.html?lng=en&rgn=na
>You can only receive one promise wristlet per application. Both you and your partner must have identical promise wristlets to undertake the quest "The Ties that Bind." You can either purchase wristlets separately, or one person can buy both and give one to his or her partner.
>
>In the event both you and your partner have different promise wristlets equipped, the wristlet of lesser value (standard < gold < platinum) will determine the service plan for both players when undertaking the quest "The Ties that Bind."
AFAIK, the whole thing defaults to the cheapest between them. So if someone goes for Free and the other pays $20, then the $20 is utterly wasted and nothing is gained from it.
Except he didn't help raise her. He kept an eye on her, sure, but he wasn't involved in her upbringing at all.

This story from Tales of the Calamity makes it pretty clear he wasn't a parental figure at all, and most certainly wasn't involved in raising her:

>Perpetually passing by, Thancred had drifted in and out of Minfilia’s life for years.

Then there's this from one of the stories from Tales from the Shadows:
>Needless to say, he had many more important responsibilities. Nevertheless, whenever his duties brought him to Ul’dah, he would make sure to look in on Ascilia lest she get caught up in anything unsavory.
As far as I know, there's not level requirements or anything for the wedding. You can have multiple characters and have multiple weddings. However, she mentioned the mount and that uh... costs $40. She must have gotten the Platinum Plan which costs about $20 per "spouse". You also get unique hairstyles, clothing, a minion, music, a cake decoration, special gifts for up to 80 guests, and a teleportation ring. I've married my own spouse, a friend, my son's godmother, etc.
There's no limit to how many characters you can have marry. It's very much a roleplay heavy thing if you want it to be, but as OP has stated, it sounds like she just wanted the special mount and cosmetics.
You can check it out fully here, actually!
I would still say for her to actually sit down and talk it through with him. Notoriously there's some worlds on FF14 that have a lot of heavy, heavy rp scenes and I know some people can't tell fiction from reality.
I feel like it's unlikely to win because it's kind of simple, but I love meles' ranged DPS design. I'd love a cute vest/shirt combo that isn't gender-locked to male characters, and the pants and asymmetrical shoes are wonderful.
I'm not even talking about the flames though.
The game version is an actual skull that's kind of on top of their head.
The original one was just a mask with a skull motif that actually covered the entire face
Final Fantasy Online I haven't played it for very long because I'm not that much into MMORPGs but the community and the mentor system seemed very newbie friendly to me. The "newbie" chat is always active, I never had a question left unanswered there. And also, if a mentor and a new player form a team, they get extra XP from killing monsters.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/na/detail/fees.html?lng=en&rgn=na
looks like the teleport ring is included in the free version, but the 2 person chocobo will cost you guys $10 each
I was actually looking forward to using this hairstyle but I wish it was more curly.
Not yet, Yoshi regrets that visiting for EB ceremonies wasn't possible in the time available, but it's something he wants to do.
I dont see anything about level restriction for attending on the site though
If it's tonight then it'll probably be too late. The reservation period for this week has already closed, you'd have to do it in the next available reservation period. https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/eu/detail/planning_5.html?lng=en&rgn=eu
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/eu/detail/special_item_4.html?lng=en&rgn=eu
>Demon Box Minion After the ceremony, guests will be gifted a demon box minion for their attendance.
>Gold / Platinum
>Bridesmoogle After the ceremony, guests will be gifted a bridesmoogle minion for their attendance.
>Gold / Platinum
Special Items which are the differences between plans are all listed on the site.
You can not get both male and female outfits, but you can choose which one you want regardless of your characters gender.
The outfits are diffrent between all 3 plans, only gold and platinum are able to be dyed and platinum has more details (also shown on that link).
You can pull that off without buying another copy of the game. Just install the regular Windows client and put "-issteam" in the Shortcut properties.
Doing it through a second Steam account means having to pay for the game again (and not use it) and could potentially get confusing when the time comes to buy Endwalker through her Steam and apply to your FFXIV account, or if you make any purchases through Mogstation. It's an odd situation; I don't know if I've heard of anyone doing this.
> But the narrative and the adult characters in the story consistently treat the twins like adults
That's because they are old enough to be considered as adults in-world. It's stated in one of the tales from the calamity short stories
> the twins were now sixteen summers old─old enough to be considered of age in Sharlayan society
login to my SE account and pay the $15 or whatever a month to simply download the game. Close to $40 down now just to login
What does this even mean?
You should just be able to use the regular client since you've already registered for the free trial. The only difference between the free trial client and regular client is that the free trial client attempts to make a free trial account on the first start up.
I also recommend checking out the other submissions here https://fanfest.finalfantasyxiv.com/2021/na/activity/fan-art-contest/
The entire walkthrough is on the FFXIV website
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/na/detail/planning_4.html?lng=en&rgn=na
If there's anything in particular from that you don't understand, go ahead and ask, but as someone who just did this, it was all pretty straightforward just following that guide
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
What you bought on Amazon was the registration key, which you'll input into the Mog Station. The game files themselves are downloaded through the launcher.
Old Sharlayan isn't part of Eorzea. Neither Eorzeans nor Sharlayans have ever referred to it as such.
>It had been almost a month since the twins first learned that Archon Louisoix would be leaving Sharlayan for the shores of Eorzea.
Depends. If you're on the free trial and using the SE client, then you can switch to the Steam client when you buy they game. Note that this requires downloading the Steam client, and you will be forever locked to Steam. If you are not on the trial, you can't merge them. So not only will you have to rebuy, you'll need a seperate account.
They had an art competition to design an armor, and the winners would be turned into armor sets in the game.
The Late Allagan sets were based on this https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/gdcdps/5Gwu4OUjgM/m026.png
Well as I said, If you want to continue playing through steam there isn't much choice.
Other option is buying it through SE store if that's available.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/ (select language, then big buy now button on the right hand side)
The benefits depend on the plan you get. All plans have a ceremony, Standard (free) plan gets non dyeable outfits/eternity cake/access to hairstyles, Gold (paid) plan gets the above except outfits are dyeable plus, minions for guests, plus a 2 seater Mount for bride/groom, Platinum (paid) plan gets same as Gold except the outfits are more detailed. You also get a ring that allows you to teleport to your partners side.
I'm not familiar with that error, but if the launcher is allowing you to log in, you should be able to access the Config (gear wheel icon) and "reset" the system settings. I recommend hitting "Back up" first just to save your UI layout, but this'll make sure the game's settings are returned to defaults.
If you still can't launch from there, I'd suggest just uninstalling the game and re-downloading a fresh copy from https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ or Steam, and trying again. Again, back up your UI first. Just in case (you can also just copy the "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn" folder and paste it to your Desktop or something while you're troubleshooting.
If that doesn't work, it might help to take a screen shot of the error and update the OP with the screenshot. There might be some more information to be gleaned from it.
> One chocobo for getting married
This requires actual money: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/na/detail/special_item_4.html?lng=en
Since the chocobo is only on Gold/Platinum plans for Eternal Bond.
The steam version of the game is not compatible with the game bought from Square Enix. If you bought the game from the original publisher (I assume this means you bought it from Square), you have to install that version, and play that version. You can't download the version from Steam and play it there.
So if you've got the Steam version installed currently, you'll need to head to the final fantasy 14 website and download the game from there and install that one instead.
The opposite is true too. If you bought the game on Steam, you wouldn't be able to use the "normal" non-steam version of the game. You'd only ever be able to use the version from Steam. If you wanted to play on your playstation, you'd need to buy the game for Playstation.
Note that regardless of whether you have the console or pc version (and regardless of whether the PC version is the Steam or normal one), once you log in, you'll be playing with everyone across all platforms. In-game, there's no split.
Love this! They are our Best Bird Buddies!
Still waiting on that Choco Bed, Square!
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/fdc/frr47eq4xi53/033.png
Unsure if you've seen it, but the design it's based on from the contest does a lot more to tick some of those boxes than what we ended up getting.
You can download the game from the steam store (just search for FFXIV Free Trial to get started) or the official site. There's also the option of downloading and playing it on the PS4 from the PS Store, the Free Trial is under the Online Starter Edition (FFXIV Online Starter Edition > Try Free Demo) over having it's own store page.
You're free to switch between playing on a PC and PS4 as long as you have bought the game on both formats. Purchases for expansions/the base game are not shared between the two, but subscription time is. Note that the PC launcher you choose to purchase the full game, if you choose to , will be the one your account is locked into forever to use. So if you want to play FFXIV using Steam to launch it purchase it on there. It really does not make that big of a difference outside sales being held more often on the Square Enix site vs the Steam Store Front.
If you want to upgrade to the full base + all the expansions if you enjoy the trial the Complete Edition is the version you'd want to buy. Buying Shadowbringers means you'd still have to buy the base Online Starter Edition because Shadowbringers only includes the expansions and not the base game.
Right now the newly announced expansion to the free trial content is not live, but should go live on August 11th.
Yeah, it’s funny because in the ARR short story it describes them as being 16 summers before leaving Sharlayan for Eorzea, and it also adds . ““Recent graduates of the Studium, the twins were now sixteen summers old─old enough to be considered of age in Sharlayan society.” So basically they’re considered young adults in universe. Which I know is super jarring to most Americans but to myself, an European and probably to a Japanese consumer that’s not a big deal, it’s couple of years past the average age of consent and they’ll be considered too old for juvie, heck most teens here are active by then, so honestly if it came out that either of them got a boo or w.e I’d be like awww. But not if it’s projared-Emet, hell no.
There is no specific download for your purchase. You just have to register your personal key and download the client from here: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
The comment above was wrong is saying that it depends on the region.
NA/EU and JP are the same client.
The client is not region locked (leaving out CH/KR), just the account.
How did those two designs with the perforated trash can as helmet pass but this did not o_o ?
I really like the Gryphon set of Maiming, but goddamn do I want THIS one to win for the melee. I love that whole aesthetic, and want it in the game as much as possible. Though admittedly, if the JoJo one gets in, I won't be sad.
For the ranged, there were less that I liked, but big ups to this one and this one. If either of these wins, I'll be happy. The Amaterasu set has potential, but I feel like it won't be realised in-game.
I know you don't need help any more, but for anybody else who might be wondering...
There are two versions of the client you can download. (I don't know why.) There's the regular client that you can download, and then there's a special one for the free trial. The regular client requires that you enter a code (that you get from purchasing the game) to install it; the free trial doesn't.
Alternatively, maybe your boyfriend was trying to log in and wondering what he should put in the "One-Time Password" field. If so, he can just leave that blank; it's for people with security tokens/software tokens.
That said, please do let your boyfriend know he probably won't be able to log in right now. The servers are undergoing maintenance for the next few hours.
I'm still incredibly salty that this one was never added to the game: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/hairdesign_2015/M_11.jpg
I really hope they decide to implement it or something similar soon...
So you try to download the installer from https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ and it doesn't finish? The most obvious things to try would be to try with a different browser, and if that fails try from a different computer or ask a friend to download it for you?
There is a whole site dedicated to the eternal bonding ceremony here: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/eternalbond/na/ I would suggest going through the various options and choosing whichever you think would work best for you. Also keep in mind that, as others have said, you have to be level 50 to do the quest.
Since you already have an account with trial access you just need to download the normal launcher.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/eu/
Just login with your already created account and continue your trial.
Highest quality image that I can find. There might be someone bored and skilled enough to try and get the logo out for you, though.
To everyone complaining it looks like it's implemented from the Gear Design Contest. https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/2e42602e592e3120d54cee8f78bb881c4948f8ab

> Tales From the Calamity does a much better job of giving her some semblance of a personality.
I actually really liked the Minfilia in that Tales from the Calamity story. You get the sense that life dealt her a shit hand and it made her sly and guarded and street-wise.
In comparison ARR Minfilia is so bland that if she were a spice, she'd be flour.
Are the pants not cut like the concept art at the thigh? The pants piece seems kinda wasted now, I like the idea of having more a more unique pair of pants.

You tried Final Fantasy Online yet? You can be all the classes in the game just by changing the type of weapon you weild. There are shitload of classes and jobs.

nowhere does it say for new accounts only
>Registration opens at different times depending on the service plan denoted on your wristlet, beginning each Friday at 1:00 a.m. (PST) / 2:00 a.m. (PDT) for ceremonies to be held during the week-long period beginning the next Friday at 1:00 a.m. (PST) / 2:00 a.m. (PDT). You might need to go into a config file & change a number from 0 to 1 so it doesn't ask you to register an account again:
Go to My Documents->My games->FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn and open the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg file in notepad
Change the value in StartupCompleted from 0 to 1 and save it.
janky method but they disabled the usual download to combat congestion
If you're on PS4/5 just check your library. If you're on PC just download the game from the client page here. https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
And on steam just check your library and it should be there.
Bro I just found the problem ENIX failed big time here. There is an extra space at the end of this sentence but if you remove it it becomes like this: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/eu/ and it works now lul.
I have never seen a game/website that's so against me wanting to download the game. I've been all over the website and cannot find a way to download the game anywhere. The only way I could find how to download it was a thread on this subreddit from someone else who couldn't download the game. Actually such a dog water website.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
You can download the cliënt here:
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/
You should be able to log in with the free trial on that one too
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
You could also just transfer the game files from your old computer's drive to the new one to skip the download process completely. And yes, you're not blocked from anything when you're moving within the same platform. You'd just be screwed atm if you were trying to get it on PlayStation.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ works fine to download the game as of right now for anyone reading this. Just use the method stinusmeret outlined in their comment to get around it asking for a game key.
You can play today.
On steam add the key to your library, it's on the top menu bars
Then on your library right click, get game key.
Take that key to the mogstation website and enter it there to register the game.
Then download the game client here: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
Then once that's setup install quicklauncher here, and run it. In it's setting check the box that flags the game as running on steam. It's literally just one line in the games settings that changes between steam and non steam. https://github.com/goatcorp/FFXIVQuickLauncher
This link should work I believe: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ (the NA part doesn't matter)
It's on the sidebar here but I also didn't see it immediately, haha.
I'm not sure why they make the client so hard to find. I grabbed one for 1.0 players at one point, also seemed to work OK.
You currently cannot create new accounts. You can still create new characters on servers, as long as there's not "too many" people currently logged into that world. The server status page will have a red "X" symbol to the right of the server name if you currently cannot create a character on that server: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ (which was a pain in the ass to find)
you can download the game client here, though idk if it will let you create an account which is required to download the game.
Small parties in the game consist of 1 Tank, 1 Healer, and 2 DPS, so just make sure that you don't both pick Tank (Marauder or Gladiator) or both pick Healer (Conjurer) as your starting class.
If you have bought the game, but haven't yet purchased any game time, have one of your recruit the other with a recruit a friend code. It'll give you both some goodies in game including a cool headgear item that increases EXP for lower level things.
Also consider getting married in game when possible! As well as being cute and fun, even the free option comes with an Eternity Ring each which can be used to teleport directly to your in game spouse. You can also pay for more expensive options which come with 2 seater mounts.
I'm not 100% sure what level you have to be in game to do this, but it's not very high iirc.
https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/
AFter you installed the Launcher:
The free trial can only be used on one platform. So if you started your free trial on the Steam version for example, you can only play the free trial on the Steam client with that account.
I'm guessing you were playing on the Windows client (Steam and Windows are considered different platforms) in which case you'll have to download the launcher from here instead of Steam.
If you remember your account and password just login to the mogstation and apply the code from the box.
You don't need a cd driver, you can download the game here https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
>But, I never opened the game box And it still sits on the shelf. Can I add the code and play now or not?
Yes. It doesn't matter how old the code is. I gave a 7 year old code for ARR to somebody just a few weeks ago and it works fine.
>edit: my current laptop doesn’t have a cd drive, so I would have to go buy one In order to play. That’s why I’m asking if it’s even worth trying.
Why does that matter? You can just download the installer from the website.
Seems like they've taken away the trial download link, but you should be able to download the full client and log into a pre-existing trial account.
The Alliance Raid is "Myths of the Realm" and the shot they put with it was the arch in front of the ceremony of eternal bonding's Ivory chapel which shows the "Eorzean Zodiac" thing which depicts all the symbols of the Twelve. And I think they outright said it would be about them anyways.
pretty sure you can just use the full client as long as you already have a service account which you would have from registering the trial initially: https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
You just need to go in as a returning player when it prompts you. (I've used the free trial installer in the past just to reinstall with my existing account on a new pc.
The place everyone gets his age from is:
So the very instant their age is established, it's also established that they're considered adults in their society. (And I mean, he kind of has to be, considering the way that everybody else we meet in the story treats him seriously.)
I don't really like using this to justify nsfw. Feels a bit like trying to do an end run around our own society's standards. But if the point is merely "he is theoretically capable of having relationships" then sure. Go wild, G-rated shippers.
> I created a free trial account a few months ago, can I still download the game or is it suspended? I can't seem to find the download anywhere
You can still download the game here but you can't play it because you're a free trial player.
Guessing they bought just the expansion which the stores list the other things needed etc. Currently new players xant buy game as it's off sale until servers clear up
