I like DvdVideoSoft's tool part of their full 'studio' set of programs like this. it'll detect when a video is part of a playlist (whatever you're watching from at the time when linking i think). same with the youtube to mp3, so there's an easy way for the music side as well.
download this youtube downloader or any other youtube downloader out there
save the video as mp3
optional: save the old sound file somewhere
replace it with the downloaded mp3
restart client
if the names match "air_button_rollover_1" it will play the sound when you mouseover the play button.
There's an application that can do this, as long as the videos are in a playlist or you can just paste URLs into it.
I use it on my PC and did exactly what you're requesting. I'll send it to you as soon as I get home or I can remote in, since I can't remember the name of it
EDIT: Found it. http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
I have been doing it manually for a while, until I thought if I could just download playlists as a whole.
I then found this after hours of searching: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
Pretty much just copy and paste a YouTube playlist link and then you can select within the program if you want to download the entire playlist, or you just select which ones you want to download. I wish I would have found this earlier...you can even save a "list" of whatever is in your queue to download. If you restart your comp, the program doesn't save your queue, so you have to create a list.
So ultimately, if RT doesn't have a playlist for all their videos, I just create a unlisted private one that can be viewed by all if I just give them the link to it, which I just paste into the program.
You can use this free program (DVDVideoSoft Free Youtube Downloader) to directly paste your playlist and download all videos.
You can control video quality and it's even available for the mac.
I've been using it for a few years and it does what it says brilliantly.
Oh... I know, I already commented, but I think everyone should have this:
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
I just used to download the movie in high quality (Set it to 1080p and a bitrate of 1Mbit/s to be sure, you're getting the full quality, the video was uploaded in)
EDIT Video taken down. Please disregard advice.
I dont think its the programs fault. I also like the mediahuman downloader. But its not free. Only the youtube to mp3 is free from there. Also there is the dvdvideosofts one which is free.
I like this one. Should do everything you need. As far as I remember, the resolution of the downloaded video is the same as the source video, but can be lowered.
Sorry, that was auto correct on my phone. Should said "another" release. Kinda ironic. Anyway, I have been using this: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm and it seems to be working well.
I'm not sure how allowed this is but I just recently (20 seconds ago) found this and I believe this may be the answer to your calls for hockey.

from what I can tell it is some kid who records all the games (720p wooo!) and uploads them to youtube.
If you want to save the games on your computer, use something like:
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
^^^is what I use and it works great....usually overloads your cpu while it converts and basically renders your computer useless for however long it takes to convert. I would imagine for a full length 720p hockey game it would be around 3-5 minutes at least per game for converting...also you have to "download" each game but that goes pretty quick depending on your internet speed.
Hope this helps, obviously I used a throwaway but I thought you would enjoy it as I am in the same boat as you are...except I'm not paying $80/month to watch ~2 hockey games per week.
Enjoy!
I use Youtube to MP4 Downloader, it has a red Icon.
Nice thing is, you can copy paste the YT Link and select to convert immediatly to MP3.
Pretty useful since I like downloading the music for my workout sessions.
You can use this YouTube downloader if you're going to be doing it often, as I find it easier and faster. However if it's just the once, just use the site.
I had the same idea! :) I think you could download the music from Youtube with this and then upload it with a different name.
It would be fun!
I use free youtube downloader. It works really well and there is another program they have which can just rip the audio from the video.
