I agree with ManBearTree that Monsanto is awful and giving them your email is a bad idea. I wanted to post here, though, under hitlersshit's contest link, that the contest will accept temporary throwaway emails.

copy your temporary email address, and repeat this every time you get asked for one... you get the address for an hour, can recieve and reply to mail from it and can change the address as many times as you want without giving any of your info. you can even extend the amount of time on the temp address. your welcome.

EDIT: I created a Facebook profile named "Spy Disses" with an e-mail account from http://www.guerrillamail.com/ that will expire shortly. I have linked my steam profile to it, although I don't see any change on my steam profile that would suggest I've done this.
By the way, I was so paranoid about Facebook's cookies and crap that used my family's computer to do this.
Your headline is misleading and incorrect. BBVA is only donating a meal if the intended recipient actually clicks through and retrieves the card thereby confirming that the recipients email is valid.

Unfortunately unless they reply within an hour I won't be able to see it, I used a temporary email address. My own is much like my username, since I've posted pictures of my face before and assuming there is a tiny chance of them attempting to do something, I may be at risk of Adrian Chiles bursting into my house and berating me for daring to question the Olympics before being taken into custody by an armed police unit as a suspected terrorist.

get an anonymous email address and spill the whole story. you want to do this anonymous because if the news came from "you", it will impact your relationship with friend.

I know it's needed sometimes but generally in terms of how the user interacts with your application the answer is "don't".
It's all about reducing the number of barriers to entry. Web users have ridiculously short attention spans, you have to take that into consideration if you want your site to have any chance of succeeding:
- Only implement registration if 100% necessary.
- Allow user to sign in with already existing accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Google, OpenID)
- Provide your own registration as a fall back.
- Only implement email confirmation if 2000% necessary.
- Email confirmation doesn't actually confirm their email address, it just annoys people. Thanks to awesome services like this.
If after all that you are still 100% convinced you want to design your application in that way I would highly recommend you use SwiftMailer.

You can create throwaway email addresses for referral signups or if you just need temporary access to a site that requires registration. It's how I maxed out my Dropbox storage increases way back when - I'd be surprised if that one still works though.
I figured out that Dropbox's referral-based space bonus was granted based on the computer's MAC address so I started using http://www.guerrillamail.com and MadMACs to get free space. Obviously, it no longer works.

The DA is a rising democratic party in South Africa, currently the biggest "threat" to the current ANC government, which is fraught with corrupt policies and growing racist ideals. Gurrilla Mail comes in handy. Load the page, get a temporary email and web inbox accessible as long as your don't leave the page. Great for confirming emails for creating one-time-use accounts on sites that require registering for use, downloading, or making a post.

I use this to register with anything that asks me for my email address. And by anything, I mean non important things such as forums, file downloads and the like. Your second sentence does not follow. They're trying see how much demand there is for the phone on each carrier. They can interpret that data, and then acted based on that. It's not "simple" to just release it on ATT and see how it goes.

Guerrilla Mail. I find it useful for signing up for things that I know will get spam from. Also found it somewhat useful for signing up for video game accounts back in the day.
