For those of us in countries other than UK, who get the "This content is not available in your area" messages when watching BBC iPlayer stuff, do this:
Grab a UK proxy from www.hidemyass.com - Here's a direct search link for some decent ones.
Set up one of the proxies through your browsers preferences or your systems network preferences, head over to the BBC page for Human Planet, Oceans - Into The Blue and enjoy. :)
Here's a really ok tutorial. It's actually amazingly simple. This video assmues you use Firefox, but I'm sure there's something comparable for Chrome.
I do one thing I differently from this video, though. He just googles "uk proxy", while I use a proxy aggregate site, specifically Hidemyass.com, where you can find a list of proxies for many countries.
For some reason the "PL" proxies have enver worked well for me, so keep that in mind (they always look tempting, though).
Have fun!

Use a port proxy server to connect. I live in Pennsylvania and have done this to watch my Knicks when they play Philly. The game was blacked out..used a proxy server..logged on the league pass, and was able to watch it.
I believe you can remove the proxy settings once the stream begins.
I had the same problem and figuered it might be based on my ISP/Country The solution was using a proxie server like "hidemyass" (http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/) to get to their website or directly to the download. Hope this will help you ass well :)
I pay $5 a month for torguard which is a torrent proxy, but they have servers that will do web proxy as well. That will definitely work.
there is also this http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/
but I have no experience with it.
Go here and choose a proxy that is used a lot and is from a country like China or Iran. Set your proxy settings to that proxy server under whatever web browser you're using, and then try searching. Most of the time when I do this Google triggers the CAPTCHA.
Don't forget to erase the proxy information after you're done.
I love it when artscow does these promotions. I've currently got this and this shipping to me.
And I'll make a few notes about how to get more than one mousepad for those interested:
First of all, delete cookies and make a new account there (use a different name as well). Make your new mousepad and proceed to the checkout.
Now comes the difficult bit: before you enter someone's code that will allow you to utilize the 99c mousepad deal (by default they're like 6 bucks), you'll need to change your IP. If you've got a dynamic IP, then this will be a breeze, if not, then you'll need to use a proxy or change it by other means. Some would advocate TOR, however at this point, almost every IP from TOR has already been used. I've simply grabbed one from here which has worked well for me.
NOW we enter someone's code, and if done right, the "Megasale 99 cent..." message will display in the code box; if not, you'll get something along the lines of "single use error", which means that they've detected you're on an IP that's been used already, so get a new one or fix your settings.
If you've gotten to here, then now it gets much easier. Post your code, sit back, and wait for someone to use it.
The final step to ensure they don't detect you're bamboozling them is to slightly change up or misspell your shipping address. For instance, going from "2222 Sunset Ave", to "2222 Sunsett Avenue" will be ample; the USPS are intelligent enough to get it to you, as it's incredibly unlikely that alternate address actually exists within the same zip code. And once again, enter the name of a "family member" for the recipient, regardless of whether or not they actually exist.
Now enjoy swimming in your free mousepads.
There are many ways. Here is one:
[This takes less than five minutes; give it a go]
Registering your gmail account
I think I used the Chrome extension Proxy SwitchySharp (there are loads out there), and went to www.hidemyass.com to get a U.S. proxy. You want to go for one with good speed and security (green bars). Enter the IP and port details into your proxy extension.
Try a few of the IP addresses and ports by going to google.com and if it doesn't redirect you to your local google (e.g. google.ca), you're on to a winner. Once you've found the proxy for you, go to music.google.com and you should see the login screen. Sign in, sign up and that's it done. Once you're registered, you can stop using the proxy forevermore and start uploading your music.
Then do a Google search for Google Music apk and download the app to your phone.
I know some people over there who keep having issues with their proxies. I wish there were something self contained and free that I could give people, instead of having to walk them through setting it up. The Tor/Firefox combo fits that, if it worked.

Would that work well over there? teaching people how to change their proxy seems easy enough.

free and pretty reliable. im sure someone with more IT knowledge will tell you this is really unsafe, but ive had no problems with it. Use it with foxproxy on firefox and you'll be laughing
Okay from what i've heard it's due to their anti DDoS banning innocent ip addresses.
Thankfully it's really easy to get around the ban, go to http://www.proxifier.com/ download the program. Once that's done install and try to find a working ip address from http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy-list/search-225480
Once you've logged in you can close proxifier and continue to play without a hitch.
S2 i really want to support you, but damn do you make it hard.
It's kind of bloated software. All you really need to do is get a good proxy IP and plug that in to your internet settings. Does the same thing expat does.
ie, get a UK proxy IP that shows fast. I pull my ips from here
Only for the US. Modify Header addon for FF can't even circumvent this. Only solution is using a proxy, but there are plenty good ones for a fairly LQ stream as the ones on PBS.
To bypass the Canadian blackout use a US based web proxy http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/ that site has a list of free web proxies find one in the us with decent speed and you will be able to watch it
