Hi 1JesterCFC, thanks for your question!
The first step would be to unlock the bootloader of your device via Mi Unlock Tool
Afterwards, it would be to flash TWRP onto your device from Nebrassy, allowing you to flash ArrowOS.
Then, download the ArrowOS ROM zip from their website and use TWRP to flash it onto your device.
I recommend searching up Munchy on YouTube, his guides provide a lot of clarity.
If you want to switch to the beta ROM, you'll have to download the package from here and install it via the updater. You cna do this by going to the updater and select "choose update package" from the top right corner (if the option is not there, keep tapping the miui icon until it appears).
But be warned, switching from stable to beta (and vice versa) WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA, so make sure you back up first.
Either by directly downloading the beta ROM and flashing it through updater app or by downloading fastboot ROM (tgz format) and flashing it through Mi flash tool.
Use whichever method is easy for you. Keep in mind going to beta erases your phone so take backup of all the things you need before flashing it.
You can already download it from the miui forums
EDIT: Link of the apk - link of the forum thread
keep in mind it's still a beta version
Basically you have to unlock your bootloader and then flash the previous version using the Mi Flash tool but you have to consider a few things before doing that.
First you have to make sure the updates didn't increase your Anti Roll Back index numbers otherwise you'll brick your phone. Judging by the comments on the post you linked looks like someone downgraded without issues but I wouldn't assume.
Next, download the Fastboot Rom for your device from here. Also download the Mi Flash tool on that website on Step 1.
Now to unlock you have to go here and download the Mi Unlock tool there. Be aware that unlocking your bootloader will erase all your data so make sure to backup everything you need. You'll have to wait at least a week (168 hours) to unlock and some people have mentioned that they have had their data deleted just by requesting the unlock.
Once unlocked you have to boot into Fastboot by turning your phone off and then turning back on holding the "Power" and "Volume -" buttons. You should boot directly into Fastboot but if you don't then once you see the Xiaomi logo release the Power button but keep holding the Volume - button until you see the Fastboot screen.
Using the Mi Flash tool select the folder where you decompressed the Fastboot Rom, your phone should show up there on the devices list. Check the options at the bottom of the tool as normally the default option is to clean and lock the bootloader again but if you don't want to lock then just select clean. Hit start and wait for it to finish.
https://en.miui.com/download-355.html
The ROM is published so it should be stable. If you encounter issues, I advise you to factory reset, if that's an option.
unlock through kernel? what?
Just use miunlock. Its official software and the only software that will allow you to unlock bootloader on MIUI device. You will need to log in into miui account that has permission for unlocking and will have to wait some time (varies between users)
There's even no official global rom stable or beta.. All global mi roms are official if it's uploaded to their website.. https://en.miui.com/getrom.php Other than that is fake and edited by the seller.
Download the official global stable ROM from here : https://en.miui.com/getrom-355.html?m=yes&mobile=2
go to updater then tap on MIUI 10 logo 10 times
click on 3 dots on the upper right corner
click "choose update package"
Select update file and it'll update your phone
login with your Xiaomi account, apply for unlocking at Xiaomi Unlock., download unlock tools and flash TWRP and later Android N, And then O and then P.
Bless the XDA rom Dev community.
Yeah, F/GO was fixed to work with Android 9 since August of last year, but it should be noted manufacturers mess with the vanilla open source versions, as briefly touched on here. So it's possible to have possible to have some phones not work due to Android 9, even if Android 9 in general is compatible.
On the other hand, Android 9 has been around for a while now, so I'm pretty sure general general incompatibilities have been fixed. Especially since that phone seems to be practically stock Android according to Wikipedia.
Going off the error code message /u/square_smile mentioned, FGO thinks it's been modified/cloned. Normally I'd jump to assuming wherever OP sourced their APKs from messed with the manifest, but I'm pretty sure lots of folks use QooApp and APKPure, so it's probably not that. Never hurts to try maybe yet another source though.
Most likely it's something 3rd-party happening before/during launch. From that first article I linked, the Xiaomi section mentions something about a "Dual Apps" system that allows for multiple profiles of the same app. That kind of system would definitely cause an error like this if turned on. In general I'd look for anything that works above or manages apps as possible culprits to investigate.
There's also this post about JoyUI being a possible interference, if you have that installed. (kinda doubtful since I think it needs root to install, but maybe it comes stock in some places? I have no idea)
If none of that helps, there's always the nuclear option of backing up your data and factory resetting if OP feels up to it. As always, I'd super-duper recommend asking both FGO and your phone's support lines for help, as maybe one of them has dealt with this before. I'll just tag /u/chamidesu since this isn't a direct reply. Good luck!
Backup your data. Follow steps here to unlock the boatloader of your phone : https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
Now you will need to flash a recovery (I use TWRP.ME, find the one for your device)
Enter recovery, wipe data, flash your ROM, restart you're done.
Unlock the bootloader. https://en.miui.com/unlock/
Even if you dont plan on modifying or rooting your device, it is good to do it while you can just incase of the rare event that Xiaomi pulls a Huawei and suddenly drops the unlocking program without any prior notice and makes it impossible to do so. Doesn't void your warranty and just gives you peace of mind just incase Xiaomi gets caught up in some controversy like Huawei did. If you are comfortable with modifying the device you could root and remove bloat/spyware or just install a custom rom entirely if you dont like miui
Relocking the bootloader like you have done when partitions have been modified will result in a bootloop like you are experiencing. Factory resetting will not fix it, here's how to fix it:
1) Download Mi Unlock Tool from here: link 2) Extract the files and run MiUnlockTool.exe 3) Reboot your device to fastboot mode by holding down volume down and power until you see the fastboot logo. 4) Follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader, the device should reboot when it's complete. 5) Hold down volume down and power again to reboot to fastboot. 6) Download the stock ROM from here: link and extract. 7) Download Mi Flash tool from here: link 8) Open the flash tool and plug in your phone. Press the refresh button and your phone should appear. 9) Click the select button and browse to the stock ROM folder that you extracted. 10) Check the 'clean all' checkbox down the bottom and then press flash. 11) The phone should reboot when done, although you might get an red error onscreen. This is normal.
Depending on what region your phone was made for you might not be able to relock the bootloader. If you provide me with the model number I can check. Let me know if it worked.
To unlock the bootloader you also have to download and run the Mi Unlock tool on your PC : https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
You might have to wait a few days before being able to unlock your device.
Ive never messed around with rooting, but if I've learned anything working tech support, it's how to vaguely word a Google search to get the answer you want.
Apparently, Redmi offers official ROM downloads, which is likely the most recent edition for your device.
I'd still check XDA and similar for additional information, though.
https://en.miui.com/getrom-355.html?m=yes&mobile=2 Right here bud. Wipe data, cache and delvik in advanced wipe and flash this. If it asks you to enter a password you have to go back to stock recovery and wipe data again.
You can either wait or
You can go to https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=355&m=yes&app=false and download the update manually in that case you would want the stable version.
After that go to settings and update and in the 3 dot menu choose select update file (if you can't see the option click few times on the big 10 and it will unlock the additional options).
It will check and install the update.
If the phone is unlocked, it's unlikely you'll mess up. If the reseller is willing to accept a refund, go ahead. To flash your phone, follow these instructions:
https://en.miui.com/thread-2932736-1-1.html
You can skip the first part about unlocking the bootloader, as from what you've mentioned, it's already unlocked (although if you want to be 100% certain, follow the guide). Then, go straight to the "fast boot" flash option, as you've already tried the other one without success.
You can grab it from the official miui site https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=355&m=yes&app=false Go with the Developer ROM which is the most up to date Global Beta. Yes, you have to install it manually; that means all your data will be wiped, so back everything up. Note that you need to enable "Choose update package" in the updater once you download the rom. To activate this option go to the hamburger menu and tap 10 times on the 10 in the updater Once installed you will be getting any global beta update as soon as it is released. Any new release won't affect your data anymore. Hope this helps.
You could change the region to India, get the update and then back to your region again. If you don't want to change region for a reason, grab the ROM from the official miui ROM site and choose the stable ROM https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=355&m=yes&app=false
u can instal using the updater page
just download the beta file form https://en.miui.com/download.html & save it to your devies internal storage
**moving to the beta rom will make u loose your internal storage data but u can save the sd card by removing it before updating
bootloader must be unlocked (has wait time). https://en.miui.com/unlock/
Flash twrp for Redmi Note 5 (WhyRed). https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-whyred-t3766113
Use Smali and manually replace 'services.jar' in /system/framework. https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonGoSpoofing/comments/amq1hu/video_tutorial_no_root_twrp_apply_smali_manually/
Download the package from here, then go to the system update menu, tap the three-dot button and find some sort of advanced optiona there (I'm not sure about the exact process). You'll get a "choose update package" option. Use that and select the downloaded package.
You can download 9 from here: https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=323&m=yes&app=false and flash it to your phone.
I have a question, did you try to use gcam in MIUI 10? Do you know if it works with it?
Settings, about phone, update system, 3 dots, search package, ok, ok, and delete all your data if you have stable build, the developer has miui 10 with android 9 pie https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=355&m=yes&app=false
And you completed the steps of applying for unlocking and waited the 7 days? https://www.guidetoroot.com/unlock-bootloader-on-any-xiaomi-phones/
If so, then grab the unlock tool from here if you haven't already and follow the steps. https://en.miui.com/unlock/
Device not appearing, or not being recognised, could mean a cable problem or a USB driver problem. Try a different cable, and/or different drivers or even a different USB port.
Yes you need to unlock your bootloader. Use this tool to unlock your bootloader: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
You need a PC and a USB cable for this step First you have to go to settings>additional settings>developer option> turn on USB debugging. On the same settings, go to Mi unlock status. Turn off your WiFi and turn on mobile data. Login your mi account. Turn off your phone and enter fastboot mode (hold volume down and power button) and connect your phone to your PC.
On your PC, open the mi unlock tool Select your device and click on unlock. If your PC is unable to detect your phone, install the necessary drivers from your browser or Windows Update if you're using a Windows machine if possible. If this is the first time you're unlocking your phone, you might have to wait an entire week before you can unlock. After the cooldown, redo the second part.
You should be able to use Mi Unlock to unlock the bootloader again. There should be no need to boot the device, you just need fastboot, and you just need to login to the Mi Account in the Mi Unlock program on your PC. If you're able to unlock the bootloader, you can then proceed to flashing a ROM.
Alternatively, if you still have access to stock recovery, you can try Xiaomi ADB to sideload the stock ROM. I haven't tried it myself, but I think it should still work with a locked bootloader as long as you're sideloading an official stock ROM.
Xiaomi is pretty easy, but you need to register for a bootloader unlock and wait 1-2 weeks. Once you've unlocked it you can go for an unofficial MIUI release (xiaomi.eu) which is generally most stable because it's the same software, just with the Chinese parts ripped and replaced with Google stuff.
Or you can go with an open source Android which can be okay/not okay depending what phone you have.
The unlock is here - don't use the xiaomi flashing tool linked in another comment as it only works with Xiaomi's software. Don't relock the phone once you've flashed it or you'll have a brick
There's the Xiaomi discord too where people are quite helpful: https://discord.gg/xiaomi
hey, in general you have to wait 7days (but that's maybe different in other countries). to unlock a Xiaomi phone just follow the instructions on https://en.miui.com/unlock/
afterwards follow the instructions on xiaomi.eu (they have a video tutorial as well) just take an eye on fastboot and twrp ROM images. the fastboot roms come with an installation script for Windows, Linux and Mac. twrp image roms are not available for Android 12 roms.
Yep it's the right model, and also has lineage os official available for the device I am personally using mi 11x (Indian varient of poco f3, idk why xiaomeme renames the same device in different regions) , and LineageOS runs flawlessly. Note: the bootloader unlocking process makes you wait for 7 days (168h) after first creating the miui account and adding it for bootloader unlock (https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html)
6) Go to this link and follow the instructions there. Basically, login to Xiaomi ID, then download the Mi Unlock tool, then connect the device to the computer. Log in to the Xiaomi ID on the Mi Unlock tool. Check if the device is connected, and click Unlock on the Mi Unlock tool. If all is good, it should show "Unlocking successful" or similar.
7) If it didn't automatically reboot, press and hold power button for ~10-15 seconds. This should reboot to the system. It should ask you all the questions that were asked when you when you firstly booted into the phone (when you bought it, that is). Go through the initial setup.

you dont acctually need root access to do what i did but i acctually have havoc os on that phone lol (and a custom kernel wich you can even see in neofetch in the screenshot), i struggled to unlock it too tho you need to request bootloader unlocking in the develepor options, you need to have a mi account or whatever it was called again with a phone number added, without one it just would not work for me (you also need to do this with mobile data) and then download the official unlock tool onto your pc from here: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html you also need the fastboot drivers wich i dont know where i got them from but you should find them with a couple google searches then shut off your phone start the phone in fastboot mode, connect it to your pc and open the unlock tool if you see a empty list you propably did not install the fastboot drivers correctly but if you see your phone, select it and press unlock. if you did everything correctly it should show you that you need to wait for like a week, just wait a week (while activily using the phone and not getting signed out of your mi account) and then you should be able to unlock it and flash a custom recovery and everything (oh also if you flash a custom recovery you should not boot back into the stock rom it will overwrite your custom recovory with the stock one) (well all that was for my phone i have no idea if its the same with your phone but it should not be to different)
I am not sure where the problem is, but I have never succeeded to use fastboot
on Linux to flash recovery to my Xiaomi devices. I always reboot to Windows to use the fastboot
furnished in Mi Unlock (https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html). I suspect that the Xiaomi version is nonstandard.
Yes, because most roms assume that your fastboot is already unlocked. Once it's done, switching from a rom to another is very easy, that's why they are not including a guide. I'll try finding you a good guide for fastboot unlocking.
What you can begin right now, and it's not engaging you in any way, is starting the protocol for MI unlock tool. Xiaomi will make you wait a full week before allowing you to unlock your fastboot. It's unfair, but it's the only way. Don't worry, you can still use your phone during this full week and you are not forced to proceed after the week if you change your mind.
You can begin here https://en.miui.com/unlock/
I will search for a good guide for what to do after that. But it's exactly the same as what I did for my 8T.
How to create Custom Recovery ?
Is this the official Mi Unlock Tool ?
https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html

Is the above Mi unlock Tool same as Mi Flash that you mentioned ??
Why dont use root ?
xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK40_POCOF3_V12.5.2.0.RKHCNXM_v12-11-fastboot.zip
Is this the correct fastboot link for the custom rom Xiaomi.EU
Is there a guide for the Xiaomi.EU for beginner ?
To unlock bootloader: Enable developer settings and add your mi account on Mi Unlock, also enable OEM unlock. Then connect your device on fastboot mode to your PC and use miflash unlock tool to Unlock https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
If you like Miui then flash Xiaomi.eu .
Arrow OS is said to be good but idk.
Had the same issue and i managed to sort it out easily.
You have successfully unlocked your bootloader. From there you can reboot your phone, assuming it has an uncorrupted ROM, or use ADB to flash a flashable recovery (TWRP) then use it to flash whatever rom you want.
DISCLAIMER: THIS WORKED ON MY REDMI NOTE 8. NOT TRIED ON OTHER BRANDS.
Ahh, that makes perfect sense! Thank you so much!

However, on the website https://en.miui.com/, it says "Animated icons are supported on the following devices: Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 9, Mi 9T Pro, Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8, Mi MIX 3, Mi MIX 2S, POCO F2 Pro, POCO F1, POCOPHONE F1, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro."
But, my device doesn't have them. Is this because of the same reason?
I also experiencing problem with google services on my China ROM CC9 Pro. Didn't want to lose data on the phone so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Play Services and Google Play. seem to work initially but wonky again after a while.
But when I decided to flash the rom. Need to unlock the phone... I was following the instruction from https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
Not shown is to log into the mi account and then to set the Mi unlock Status from Developer Options... Then it showed to unlock again in 168 hrs.. haha.. that's 7 days time.. *facepalm*
So I'm stuck for now with the phone without functional google apps...
Wait wtf!
My sources was: https://en.miui.com/ scroll down and you won't see any ETA for round 2.
How come round 2 finished but many devices haven't receive miui 12 update?!
What is going on?
Last week they say it will be the 2 of June.
Now on en.miui.com it say "Starting from June 2020"

> 1st rollout
sure. first you need to unlock bootloder. Follow steps here https://en.miui.com/unlock/ After you unlock you need to enable usb debugging on your phone. Settings, about phone, miui verison tap on miui version 7 times then go back to settings main screen. Go to additional settings, developer options and enable usb debugging. After that on your oc install this https://androiddatahost.com/jxcz8. And download your device s twrp from twrp.me . Then connect your phone to the pc using a USB to Type C cable and open a command window./powershell and type "adb devices" then accept the prompt on your phone. After that type "adb reboot bootloader" and wait for your phone to reboot to fastboot mode. Once in fastboot type "fastboot devices" and make sure your pc can see your phone. then type "fastboot flash recovery here drag the twrp.img you previously dowbloaded" and press enter. Flashing process should take around 2-3 seconds. Once flashed Hold Power and Volume up until a memu called twrp pops up. There, go to wipe advanced wipe and select system data dalvik cache and swipe. then go back to the main menu go to wipe format data and type yes. Once you do that go back to the main menu and press on reboot and select recovery. Your phone should reboot back to the twrp menu. Then copy your ROM and DFE (vendor not needed since you re coming from MIUI). Once copied flash the Vendor and DFE and reboot. You will now have a custom rom. If you have any isssues or questions or want me to help you during the process my telegram is @vladsendrix. Hope this helped you :)
But it can take days, weeks or even months to unlock. Remember, you can't logout from your Mi Account during this period. There could be also other nuances, idk. Google it first or search your model on XDA forums. Good Luck.
I just skipped through it and it seems ok! But that is not the normal way of doing it I think.
Here are some rough steps how this is done, let me know if you need more details!

Unlock Bootloader
Make sure you are logged into your miui account on your phone. Turn wifi off and mobile data on. Download the unlock tool here.
Enable Developer options: In settings, tap on MIUI version a couple of times. You will get a notification that you are a developer now.
Navigate to the developer options: Check "OEM unlocking", then "Check unlocking status" ("Mi unlocking status"? or something similar, this is out of memory ;-) ). There should be only one button now: "Add account and device". Do that.
Open the Mi Unlock tool downloaded earlier. Run it, and just follow the instructions on screen. It will tell you how to connect the phone and boot it in fastboot mode. (If the Mi Unlock tool doesn't recognize your phone, in 99% of all cases it's an issue with the fastboot drivers)
Install Recovery
Usually I recommend TWRP, but if you don't want to install a custom rom but stay on MIUI, I recommend OrangeFox. It is made for running well with MIUI. Get it here. Download "OrangeFox-R10.1_O1-Stable-riva.zip" if you are on Android Oreo, and "OrangeFox-R10.1_N1-Stable-riva.zip" if you are on Android Nougat. (Not sure what version the latest MIUI for your phone is.)
Follow these steps.
Root

Hope this helps a bit!
noo, to unlock bootloader do this. go to settings about phone press on mii version 7 times until you get a popup saying you are now a developer. then go to the main menu of the settings, go to additional settings then developer options and go enable OEM unlocking ( do whatever it says there, add mi account etc). Once enabled, put your phone in fastboot (Power off then press power and volume down until you boot into fastboot mode). Then connect it to your pc. On your pc download adb drivers ( https://androiddatahost.com/up9hg ) and download Mi Unlock Tool and apply for unlocking ( https://en.miui.com/unlock/ ) then open mi unlock press unlock and it will fail saying something along the lines of wait 168 hours or more, dependsz after you wait the timer do the.unlocking process again and it'll work. since you re on linux, either use a friend s windows pc or use a virtual machine.
Their website is crap, at times. As good as their products are, the unlock process can be a pain in the ass.

https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html

Get the tool there. Be sure you have done all prior steps before you try to unlock. You have to disable your wifi and use 3G/4G mobile data connection in order for the unlocking process to work. You have to be sure your phone was added successfully for unlocking in the system settings. Then you wait.
In the past, the unlocking was a insane 120 or 240 HOURS of waiting time. Unlocking my Mi Mix 2S which I bought cheap a few weeks ago, only took like half an hour.
i went to https://en.miui.com/unlock/ to do that, but it gives "502 Bad Gateway" message when i try to log in.
is there any other way to fix this without unlocking bootloader?
I don't think so. If this is the official link then, it's not available for Linux (or Mac).
All I can see after extracting the folder is .exe and other files.
Bonjour,
Bon courage
Hello,
I was facing simillar issues on RN4 after update to MIUI11. I managed to fix it by downloading the original ROM from en.miui.com, flashing it and remove all the data (basically, start over).
All notifications, including Gmail are working like a breeze :D
Put your phone into fastboot mode (I'm assuming you know how to do that). Make sure your phone is connected to the PC. Download the zip from the official site, and extract it onto a folder. Open the MiUnlock.exe file (not too sure about the name exactly), and you'll get a popup with a terms and conditions. Hit "I agree" and then proceed to unlock your phone.
Sorry friend, my Spanish is not very good. But I'm using the dates available here:
Where it doesn't mention about being Mi Pilot.
I may have misunderstood thought. But seen the other devices that have already received in this phase, I believe they are releasing even for non mi pilots. It may differ on Europe or Indian version.
I am from Belgium and my phone (regular Mi 9T) came with the global EEA ROM preinstalled. You can download the official and latest Xiaomi ROMs for the Mi 9T (pro) here: https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=361&m=yes&app=false
Rooting applies to the ROM your phone currently runs on. Because you're planning to change it, there's no point it rooting.
What you need to do is unlock your bootloader: https://en.miui.com/unlock/
You'll have to wait 3 days after applying for unlocking your phone's bootloader, which is a perfect time to read up on how to
That tool looks legit enough. I would recommend you to check out the official ADB/Fastboot driver and commands though, because when I was trying to flash mine with a third party tool, it failed too. This is the official download.
Also note that it's possible for the vendor to re-lock the bootloader, so I would still check just to be sure. Unlock tool here
Flashing the ROM is the last step. First you need to unlock the bootloader. You need a PC for that. There is no other way. https://en.miui.com/unlock/ Download tool from this link and follow the instructions. ALL DATA WILL BE WIPED. Then you need to install twrp recovery. You need a PC for that too. Do the first step (there might be a two-day delay) and then I'll help you with the other steps.
People keep claiming that the band uses heart rate figures when calculating sleep but I haven't seen any definitive statement from XiaoMi to say that; furthermore the science behind sleep tracking (actigraphy) only uses movement.
Just found a forum post where a XiaoMi employee states that they only use movement and the proximity sensor: https://en.miui.com/thread-298996-1-1.html
I don't know if you did but I think you should try to run fastboot oem unlock
anyway.
Also, you could try using this version of the platform-tools (with both oem unlock and flashing unlock).
If nothing works (after maybe have tried other methods by other people here on reddit) you could try to flash you entire system from fastboot using the official firmware, which contains a .bat file to automate the process, altough this will format you data.I'm not sure if this is possible without unlocking the bootloader, but AFAIK it'll work since the files are signed by the OEM; if it doesn't then you could end up bricking your phone (that's why it's probably the last thing to try, so you can just send it for repair, altough I don't know how they behave if it's bricked).
If you want to do it I suggest you to add a pause
command after the first two flash command (which should be fastboot %* flash bluetooth_a/b
), so if it doesn't work (you get errors) you can just stop the script there or leave it running hoping it works.
Ich nehme an weil es sich (AFAIK) rooten und weil es von Xiaomi Geräte gib, die in Deinem Preisbereicht liegen (z.B. das brandneue MI 9T gibts bei Amazon für 329,00)
It was the app of my local bank that was the issue. Gpay probably works with Magisk using the available workarounds. But I wanted to use the app of my local bank.
Anyway, I restored to stock using the official fastboot way found here
No (I've tried the latest Mi Box S).
> My understanding is that there is possibly AMLogic IEC61937 audio patches missing from the Oreo 8.1 firmware on our S boxes.
Well it's a "1 day" phone.. I hope the Mix 3 5G battery will fit the regular because with that 3800mah battery it could last for 2 days (for me)
Also check this out: https://en.miui.com/thread-5588490-1-1.html
Of course, I found the answer just now after searching a while..
I will leave this here, if it helps !

Yes you would. The Pocophone uses the same Xiaomi os, just customized the skin abit different.
Yeah, the OTA has been hard to get outside of India. You can either switch to India region briefly to get it, or you can use the following link if you're in the EU (no sure if it works outside of that) https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=355&m=yes&app=false
Which model are you thinking about buying?
Buy one that has an official Global ROM (e.g. Redmi Note 7) from any Xiaomi store and then flash it yourself (warning: you MUST unlock the boot loader first and never lock it again after you flash the Global ROM).
There are plenty of tutorials on how to do so online, just google a bit ;)
Looks like it's a common issue..
Only Themes can set the Lockscreen wallpaper it appears. Reading reports over at MIUI Forums
Not sure if it's permanent or not, but seems it was presented in MIUI 10 Global beta back last year, too.
check for updates
settings > about phone> system update
if it don't give the latest version

https://en.miui.com/download-355.html
here is the official page u can get the latest version
download the stable rom to the internal storage
go to settings > about phone> system update > tap the 3 dots > choose update package
Since nobody answered me and I did switch to Beta anyway, I'll answer myself (as Mox 3 user), for others, who might be interested in future. So:
1) The link in the question is indeed right. you can find latest downloads for your device here 2) The public beta of MIUI (aka Developer ROM) is very stable and usable as a daily driver 3) After initial install, beta updates do "come by air" as regular updates would, no manual flashing or wiping is required. And those updates are weekly as I understand
I think you can download the latest rom from the "Download" section of MIUI forums and then install that using the local update method (without the need for special techniques!). This have limitations, but as long as you want to upgrade to stable from stable, there shouldn't be a problem.
for some reason some people are not getting the update... but you can force it, tho. Just download the global stable zip here https://en.miui.com/getrom-355.html?m=yes&mobile=2 and, go to system updates and tap the MIUI 10 5 times (it will enable extra features). Then tap "select update package" and choose the zip you downloaded ;)
Its a known issue affecting many users. I don't know if there is more than bug report opened up on the Xiaomi forum for this issue, but if you have an account, click confirm on this thread: https://en.miui.com/thread-6033909-1-1.html
Someone else mentioned (can't remember where or who) that the high SAR value on this phone might have something to do with the problem because this device has to reduce the transmit power for wifi/BT to stay under the SAR limit. Wifi/BT does contribute to the SAR value and not just the mobile connection to the cell tower.
If this is still relevant. Flash newest MIUI firmware: https://en.miui.com/download-355.html
Newest stable ROM worked for me, but LineageOS open-source community is recommending using Developer ROM:
TIP: It is highly recommended to have the latest official MIUI dev package installed on the device, before proceeding with unlock.
For me the newest developer rom (or some other thing) broke the camera features. V10.2.3.0.PEJMIXM is currently working for me.
According to your error I guess that you used Stable ROM and at that time, it did not have features that LineageOS needs from MIUI 9.1.17 developer build or newer. (Stable and Developer build are following different version numbering)
Seems like you have a vendor (i.e. non-official) version of MIUI. Follow these instructions to install official MIUI. Do note that this will wipe all your data, so back up wherever necessary
I don't know if you are familiar with flashing and things, but there are bunch of tutorials on youtube.
From here you can get the developer rom file or you can flash xiaomi.eu rom rom. It's much better cause it removes some useless xiaomi apps and it has some additional features. It's based on the beta so there is a release every friday morning.
Recently bought a Pocophone as well, and experienced the same issue; I was dropping notes on Hard when I could consistently FC EX. Switching to the Global Developer ROM seems to have fixed the issue for me.

If you're new to this, take a look at the Flashing Guide button in that site. Then look at the Local Update method. You don't need to unlock your device or manually fastboot; it's extremely simple. Hope that helps!
I got the same freaking problem from day one, I thought I had a faulty phone because when I bought it there were like zero results on Google about the issue, now there are a plenty.

Here are the solutions: https://en.miui.com/thread-5567417-1-1.html

I tried the 3G method which consists in setting "Prefer 3G" in your SIM settings then it works flawlessly in on and off screen.
There's also another solution which involves rooting and using a Magisk module in the same thread.
You can download a (flashable zip)[https://en.miui.com/download-355.html] to flash in recovery, or (fastboot-flashable images)[http://en.miui.com/a-234.html].
You won't loose recovery from the zip or images if you boot into TWRP first after flashing.
Hey, still not?
I don't get even ONE answer at miui forum:

Watch out, this is the Redmi Note 4 MTK. You might be looking for Redmi Note 4X MIUI if you have the Snapdragon (global) variant of the phone.
An easier way to check: if you have screws next to the micro-USB port on the bottom, it is MTK. If you don't, it's a Note 4X.
> Xiaomi Mi 8
Did you use the debloater tool (https://en.miui.com/thread-3620390-1-1.html) on yours? I am curious if a user in the USA gets the ads and such that MIUI serves up to Chinese customers.
Try this: Go to Settings > Installed apps > (3-dot menu) > Default apps > Assist and voice input > Assist app > Select None. Also, Default apps > Voice assistant > Select another app (e.g. Google app).
You seem familiar with the fastboot install process so I think that all you need to do from this point on is to attempt the EDL flash with the global stable Redmi 6 Pro ROM from the official xiaomi website.
I am facing the same issue as posted here "https://en.miui.com/thread-3375026-1-1.html" while trying to add my account.
This is probably because the device was originally registered with my sister's Mi account and I did a factory reset and signed up with Mi account recently.
Does Kaku crash on startup? That's really weird. It does seem from looking online that MIUI is a bit weird with screen overlay apps, so maybe try some of these steps: https://en.miui.com/thread-708221-1-1.html
How technical of a user are you? Would you be able to get logcat logs for me? I'd love to be able to help but my hands are pretty tied since I don't have a Xiaomi device.
Here you have ROM: https://download.pixelexperience.org/polaris/ I recommend Custom recovery like TWRP and flash it in it. If you don't actually know how to start, then other people or Google will help you more. At least unlock your phone on this page: https://en.miui.com/unlock/ Good luck with your phone.
Disclaimer : will format your phone
https://en.miui.com/getrom-340.html?m=yes&mobile=2
Download the miui 10 on your phone. Go to the OTA downloader menu. Click the 3 dot, choose update package.
Find the file and choose it
You don't need to root your phone to remove bloatware, there is software for removing bloatware from MIUI. MIUI debloater remember to enable USB debugging and install Java to use it.
Bootloader is program which loads os/Android system when you turn on your phone. For Xiaomi phones,it's locked. Which means you can't remove the stock ROM(i.e. MIUI) and install another one. You need to unlock it first to mess with your phone. There are many guides online, use them as reference.
TWRP is custom recovery. Recovery is software part of your phone through which you can install many things. Since you can't install anything using stock recovery, you've to install TWRP and TWRP is user friendly too. After reading a bit,you won't have any problem using it but remember, always take backups of everything before you've installing any custom ROM or kernels or anything.
And lastly, root. Rooting your phone/system means getting access to roots/base files of your ROM. It contains all the basic functions of your phone, such as CPU frequency, power management, screen on time (which you can change from settings too). Keep in mind many banking apps won't work ok your phone after rooting due to security purposes. This is where magisk hide comes in handy. Magisk is app which controls root permissions. Like an administrator app for other apps to gain root access and similar things and it can hide itself as well as root info from these sort of apps But many apps detect that too.
I hope it'll be enough to clear your doubts.
Not really and it takes a while until I'm home, but youtube is full of them.
But here is a text guide for unlocking the bootloader, ignore everything but the unlocking part.
You use the official Xiaomi unlock tool, (check this guide if you're lost) and then you can go straight to flashing TWRP. After you're done with that, use the key combination (Power + Vol Up on mido) to boot into TWRP Recovery, from where you can flash Magisk.
It's all explained as well as it can be on the websites I linked in my previous comment, just follow up on them.
This link, then u will see the developer versions and download it and remember to backup ur phone before installing it using the updater app.
What I've been doing (on my note 5) so far is to download the full ROM .zip from here, and then flash it with TWRP. No need for the stock recovery, and it works fine.
Yeah it was this issue to be exact: https://en.miui.com/thread-4846929-1-1.html
Also, the battery life is awesome after the update, I got 10 hours so from a full charge, where as similar usage got me to 8 hours
It's being launched in batches. As Alvin Tse wrote: everyone should get it in the next few days. The global stable should be ready for download here when it's ready.
