Basically you have to unlock your bootloader and then flash the previous version using the Mi Flash tool but you have to consider a few things before doing that.
First you have to make sure the updates didn't increase your Anti Roll Back index numbers otherwise you'll brick your phone. Judging by the comments on the post you linked looks like someone downgraded without issues but I wouldn't assume.
Next, download the Fastboot Rom for your device from here. Also download the Mi Flash tool on that website on Step 1.
Now to unlock you have to go here and download the Mi Unlock tool there. Be aware that unlocking your bootloader will erase all your data so make sure to backup everything you need. You'll have to wait at least a week (168 hours) to unlock and some people have mentioned that they have had their data deleted just by requesting the unlock.
Once unlocked you have to boot into Fastboot by turning your phone off and then turning back on holding the "Power" and "Volume -" buttons. You should boot directly into Fastboot but if you don't then once you see the Xiaomi logo release the Power button but keep holding the Volume - button until you see the Fastboot screen.
Using the Mi Flash tool select the folder where you decompressed the Fastboot Rom, your phone should show up there on the devices list. Check the options at the bottom of the tool as normally the default option is to clean and lock the bootloader again but if you don't want to lock then just select clean. Hit start and wait for it to finish.
On miui 8, There is a system app (bloatware) with same icon. Name is "Direct service". Just like other miui bloatware apps It asks many permissions. major permissions. Here is complete list of all permissions.
u can instal using the updater page
just download the beta file form https://en.miui.com/download.html & save it to your devies internal storage
**moving to the beta rom will make u loose your internal storage data but u can save the sd card by removing it before updating
other can be deleted gallery photos in recycle bin. could be extra data you download within the apps, (an example that happened for me was that I use Tachiyomi app to read comics and mangas, and when I downloaded two mangas with huge sizes to read in offline mode, I realized the size of "other" increased, not app size), it could be thumbnails sometimes as well. I used this app to clear memory and I found even much more unwanted stuff that needed to be deleted. you can use it to see what folders are taking huge space as well.
I totally understand but to use stock android option you have to install custom ROM. You can use a third party gestures app. I use edge gestures and I know there's more apps like that.
You can try Storage Analyser App. Go to file categories, open the OTHER folder & delete what you want. Sometimes this OTHER folder stores your game files like obb files, so look out for what you are deleting. I use this app to do the same, although the max I get after deleting is 2.4GB in others.
Here's the link to the app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile_infographics_tools.mydrive
I think Poweramp has last.fm support.
I've also used Simple Last.fm scrobbler on MIUI. You need to lock it by swiping down on the multitasking screen and not close it, allow it to autostart and run the the background. After that, it worked for me as intended.
This is how thinks work on Android 12
Unfortunately there is no easy solution. And there is way too many steps to write all down.
You need apps like Open link with, and set it as your default browser. This already works with some apps, but many apps require extra step... like Reddit, where you need to access alternative App info-page with apps like Android Hidden Settings > choose: Application settings (first one) - Manage apps - Find example Reddit and open its alternative app info-view, where Open, Uninstall, force stop are on top, after app name - there locate "open by default", then disable "Open supported links". Now you can choose any other app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage Believe it or not I was able to free up literally Gigabytes of data from the locked built-in Gallery app! Miui is fine. I only switched to LineageOS because miui 12 killed multitasking on Note 8T. I wish I didn't. I should have just downgraded to MIUI 11.
YouTube and TikTok tell the OS to dial down the refresh rate to 60hz so that the content you are viewing actually maschera you screen refresh rate resulting in a smoother video playback.
Though you can force all apps to run at 120hz using SetEdit app selecting system table at the top right and navigating to "user_refresh_rate" and changing the value to 1.
Note this is temporary and it may reverted back to it's original state if your phone thermal throttles so changes it's refresh rate to 60hz overwriting the value you have edited.
It also resets when you change the refresh rate from the settings app and opening the camera app and rebooting your device.
use this app to determine if the phone really has nfc functionality. if you can install it and be able to read a card, then it has nfc.

NFC Tools. the developer is named "wakdev"
With apps like Shortcut maker you can find all hidden settings.
When you install app, choose activities, then locate settings-app (there is 2, check both) and security app. Under those is list of activities, some are normal activities, some are hidden, some are useful, some are direct actions (be careful!), some are unstable/unsupported, some just says settings (even when they do more - get hint from activity name), some even lead empty or unfinished page and so on.... but be careful, some activities can mess your system if you don't understand what they do.
You can test each activity and create shortcut to your home screen if you want.
I'm using Nova launcher and for gestures I'm using Edge Gestures. You can also use Fluid Navigation Gestures.
did they explicitly stated what they mean by a few ? it was stated a few. it could be a few dozen apps or a few hundred apps. as for uninstalling them, try this app

Try going to this Google Play Store link and see if it will let you uninstall Wallpaper Carousel, To do so you will need to find a way of opening the link in the Google Play Store app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miui.android.fashiongallery
hello there, obviously I'm on Redmi Note 10s with MIUI 13 right now and let me tell you, it's full of bugs. Do not update unless if you really want it, there's nothing much special about the update tbh. but, if you do want to update it to the latest version, download this app and download the latest MIUI 13 according to your device and manually install it via system updater: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiaomiui.downloader&hl=en&gl=US&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dmiui+downloader&pcampaignid=APPU_1_qnblYp69IoGQhwOR3K2wAg
I said this and I'm gonna say it again. it is full of bugs and it's not a good time to update. Think twice as you can't downgrade after you have updated.
Something like this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.hp.volume
I also have the same problem since don't want my notification sounds to be as loud as my ringtone naturally. I don't understand why this isn't a default setting but I digress.
Unfortunately this is how Android 12 works. Try with this one: "Open Link With..."
Give usage access. Open "Open link with"-app > App features > Enable: Set as browser.
If you set something "Always" with this app, you can also control them with this app, Want to remove? Open "Open link with"-app > Preferred apps > click app to remove "always" access. Check also other settings for other useful features.
Not perfect, but at least no ads/trackers:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.punksta.apps.volumecontrol
Custome sound profiles & shortcuts, notification widget, extended volume settings, etc
Google Play Store app link that may uninstall Wallpaper Carousel, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miui.android.fashiongallery You need to open the link in the Google Play Store app for it to work (tap open in app at the bottom of the screen).
yes it will, use this app 1.1.1.1
Sorry, bluetooth limitations. As earbuds I'm using the pretty cheap Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic 2 and I can't say they're shit as you call your Redmies. You can always try them 😉.
Speakers is something I've never used. 😜 But I can confirm, wired headphones and headphone options in miui are the best combo!
Install this app first https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sia.netttsengine.ttslexx
Then go to phone settings, then text to speech output, and select TTSlexx (in place of speech services by Google). You are done.
Without ADB:
Google Play Store link where you can uninstall Wallpaper Carousel, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miui.android.fashiongallery You need to open the link in the Play Store app. Tap open in Play Store app at the bottom of the screen.
Download an app called DiskUsage try using that
Use it : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.kdrag0n.dyntheme
You can't change Monte theme color in MIUI yet... If you don't want to buy this app , then you have only 1 way - Unlock you phone's bootloader, Flash custom recovery then flash a Android 12 based aosp custom rom. There you can change between colors for free , just by changing your wallpaper.
I found the issue, apparently it is not a Xiaomi issue. This is happening with android 12 devices. There are two solutions the easy for me is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.betteropenwith
You can select your default app.
I would suggest using any usb-C hub like this
You may be able to remove Wallpaper Carousel from your phone by uninstalling it at this Google Play Store link, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miui.android.fashiongallery It may tell you that it is not available in your country and was not installed by Google Play Store. If the uninstall option is available it is safe to do so. You will need to open the link in the Play Store app. If you do uninstall it and it is not available in your country, You may not be able to install it again. Hopefully your wallpaper will go back to what it was because.
Yes use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gpillusion.volt it will optimize everything and than leave your phone charging with slow charger or just plug the original cable to a computer and leave it charging like 2 hours after 100% or the whole night even better, without turning it off or using it.. Congratulations for the + 2 hours sot
Great but this is android runtime optimisation optimization which has nothing to do with miui optimization.. Anyway To make things easier for u just use this app it will accomplish the same job of the adb command https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gpillusion.volt And don't forget to charge your phone overnight after that preferably with a slow charger.. And then you are welcome for the "at least +1 hour sot ✌️"
Saw this in MIUI forums, people often getting notices every day. There was a link to the MI official 10.0.6.0 Global ROM.Posted by Allexander on Page 3 of this thread - https://en.miui.com/thread-4588406-3-1.html YMMV
Install TWRP for your device
In TWRP's File Manager go to "/data/system"
Delete these files (if you don't find all files, it is OK)
gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
Hi, almost all of your concerns are relatable. There's an app on Google play store that allows you to split your screen just allow the app to auto start manually on settings and 'no restrictions' in the battery. Split Screen
Also, I agree with the heating issue and I have to face it to an electric fan. Also, there were times when the game crashes.
I think that files is a part of file manager but has the ability to grant permission to apps to access folders. To access obb folder, or data folder or any other folder, use Solid Explorer file manager
I tried looking back but couldn't find it... And I have done a factory reset and this method doesn't work anymore. It worked if you upgrade to MIUI 12 from MIUI 11 without fresh reset.
For 12.5.1+ installing SB Wallpaper Changer App is the only temporary fix for now. Good news is MIUI developers already take notice and reported this problem so maybe fixed in future officially.
(I am on xiaomi.eu so this might not work for you if you have a global version)
Go to notifications & control center > Control Center Style > switch control center side
There is also a MIUI control center App which is highly customizable.
Hi to activate bubble notifications just install and open Activity Launcher then go to settings (light grey icon) tap on Notifications and you'll see the bubbles option there, hope this helps
Try installing this, I use the side swipe for back and the standard 3 buttons. Irritating but still better than nothing.

Use an app like System UI Tuner. You might need to give it some quite permissive permissions (I can't remember which one I gave, possibly some though ADB). Then you can remove specific icons in Interaction > Status bar > Icon blacklist
You can do something but it's still not exactly what you asked. You can't download a pack from play store and apply it right through. But if you want to use that pack anyways, you can edit a theme. There's some apps to edit themes or create themes, like Theme Editor for MIUI. You can edit your current theme, add your icon pack, repack theme and install it. I tried it with Delta icon pack and Limitless theme and it looks it's working.
Two options (that I know of):
Turn off chat heads in Messenger
Download this Notification Blocker, then toggle that "Messenger is displaying over other apps" off.
Hope this helps.
Hi I use the lawnchair launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.deletescape.lawnchair.plah
Folow the description and install the companion app to have Google feed when swiping right. I use this on my 9t

Basically download this app (apk extrator) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui&gl=ES and upload the apk to drive, thanks <3
I kind of "forced" the update using downme app from Play Store: it works well and I had not to mess with anything.

Redmi Note 7, MIUI-based ROM MiRoom. When connecting the phone to USB, a menu is popping up: charging, transferring, etc.
An alternative solution: WiFi file transfer app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hp.aurelionsol.kindred
Of course! It's the WM058 widget from the Watermelon KWGT pack
The following app solved this problem for me; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zuimeia.suite.lockscreen.international&hl=en_GB
Settings seemed to suggest that stock would wake the device but it never did for me on my Mi4c
