It's the best controller you can use for Minecraft on PC. Get MineMenu to avoid the chore that is setting up button layouts for Minecraft AND the Steam controller.
You can setup all your teleports/warps and lots of other macros without having to worry about its keyboard location. I use RemoteMouse to type stuff into NEI since using the Steam controller is slower for me.
I use Remote Mouse from my Android phone sometimes. iOS version exists too.
Don't know how accurate it is for gaming purposes, I've only used it to click "Next Episode" on Netflix from across the room from my system or from a leaned back position when I'm too lazy to lean forward to reach my mouse.
Or you can download remote mouse on your laptop/pc and install it on your mobile device and is uses it as a replacement. I've been doing it for a while now. Here's the link: http://www.remotemouse.net/get_started.php
Yeah, it is annoying that the Windows 10 handwriting input panel requires a click and drag to draw lines. Works fine if you have a mouse but it's very cumbersome with a trackpad. The macOS implementation is so much better. Motorola once offered a program called SoftStylus that does what you want but I think it got discontinued sometime after Windows 7.
One workaround you can try is to use Remote Mouse on your phone. You can use your phone's IME to enter characters and it'll send over the keystrokes to your laptop via wi-fi.
are you referring to this remote mouse ?
you realise that that app/program has a completely different function from what i'm describing in this post?
remote mouse is a way to use your iDevice as a keyboard and touchpad mouse to control your computer.
what i describe in this post is how to click a button on your computer to shut off your device.
sort of the other way round, but actually completely different from remote mouse, so i don't understand your comment
If you have an old smartphone lying around and only need your keyboard and mouse to get into Steam big picture mode and/or netflix, you can use something like remote mouse.
I don't think they're considering anything non-wireless here. I have a Brother printer I've set up on WiFi with WPA security. Never hardwired it to set up. I have Bluetooth keyboards I've never set up hardwired. It's the same principle. Some will be WiFI with little screens, others will be paired somehow over BLE. It's already being done.
This also reminds me of how it used to be required to update motherboard firmware by booting off of a floppy to update. Now, as I just did with 3 of my Dell Optiplex 740's, I just ran off of USB thumb drives in Windows and rebooted after. Everything is evolving.
Heck, I have 6 computers that use Synergy (http://synergy-foss.org/) throughout the house over WiFi. There was a time this was unthinkable and only available via a physical KVM switch. I also use this for my media server...http://www.remotemouse.net/. This all just goes bit further. As long as perms are set up properly with some creativity, I see no reason why this can't all be done wirelessly now.
You can use the Remote Mouse app if you intend on still looking at the PC monitor. There is pretty much no lag. My monitor's set on 144hz and I really can't see a difference between using it and my actual mouse.
I picked this up the other day. No idea if it's the best one and it's got some adds and tries to sell you extra features in the free version but it works with my wifi-less LAN desktop just connecting over my home network. There's a little stutter and lag, but it works great just for doing things like adjusting flash player controls on a video from the couch.
There's a free computer program called remote mouse which lets you do this using your phone or tablet to save the cost of a wireless mouse. its funny watching my brother play Kerbal Space programme as i ruin his most important maneuvers.
