Shining Force II for the Genesis.
I still play through and complete it every few years actually. Trying to make Slade the rat powerful enough to be a viable character is always rewarding.
Edit: Anyone discovering this comment who still feels the same about shining force but would like a little re-mix of the game.
This is the ROM, you don't need to mod it just stick in your genesis emulator,
which can be found here if you don't already have one!
This is battle royal, it cuts out the storyline and exploration and it's just battle after battle with shops, reviving and caravan in the middle of battles. You start with a full cast of characters to select from from all sorts of games and a few new character classes. There are loads of new enemies or remixed enemies. Added animations. Added spells, rebalancing of wizards, harder enemies etc.
I'm loving it atm.
how to play on fightcade download all of these 3 links https://www.fightcade.com/#download http://www.doperoms.com/roms/mame/sfiii3n.zip.html/670125/sfiii3n.zip.html http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/45413/mame/Street-Fighter-III-3rd-Strike-Fight-for-the-Future.html
SMW Central and Romhacking.net have pretty good rom hack selections (SMW Central is exclusively Super Mario World, but RHDN has many translations, hacks, etc.).
There is a pretty good .zip of public domain ROM's on romnation http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/54522/snes204/Public-Domain.html
A lot of it is just wavy text demos, but there are a few things that are closer to games on there.
Some better, newer homebrew on here: http://www.nesworld.com/snes-homebrew.php
Of you lurk on forums.nesdev.com in the snesdev section there are some in process ROMs that come up every once in a while.
I'll hopefully have some more interesting (ie interactive) stuff soon but I also do SNES homebrew, if you want some of the ROMs

How do you install the game? I have the "jojoba" and "jojobane" zip files but i'm still missing some essential files. Where can I get those files?
edit: Found them! Download the rom from here. Other sites didnt work for me.
Game: http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/20192/genesis/Scooby-Doo-Mystery-JUE.html (Scooby Doo Mystery)
Emulator: http://www.romnation.net/srv/emulators/70/genesis/Gens-v2-14-for-Windows.html (Gens for Sega Genesis)
Another good point and click on Genesis: http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/49184/genesis2/Cosmic-Spacehead-E-c.html (Cosmic Spacehead)
Here you go. The Snes9x emulator and the Chrono Trigger ROM.
There are other sources for both of these, and pretty much any SNES ROM you find should be compatible with that emulator.
Edit: And here's a clip of the game itself, on the palace level the submission is about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhQpgs78yqI

An emulator is a software that enables one computer to act like another, so your computer that's running windows or linux or the apple one (forgot its name) can imitate a PS1/2 , atari, n64, gameboy, etc. You can find more here and you can actually download some, no malware I promise.. http://coolrom.com/tutorial.php
Some other sites. http://www.romnation.net/ http://www.emuparadise.me/.
I don't have any experience with phone emulators but I bet there are some on the app store.
Super puzzle fighter 2 turbo (Mame Rom) is, in my opinion, the best party video game ever made. It's one of those games you can pick up in 10 minutes and then spend years getting good. It only really shines as a 2 player game, but hours of fun are to be had here.
Once the next-gen consoles arrive, Xbox 360 and PS3 iso's will be available
I thought young me was all OVER the continuous jumping, but I could never seem to make any progress.
As far as trying to dust off the old genesis, have you considered...
If anyone wants to, I got the Fusion emulator here: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/genesis/fusion.html
and the game here: http://www.romnation.net/srv/download/rom/19043/genesis/Knuckles-Chaotix-32X-A.html
10 year old me would be flipping out.
You can play lemmings on the computer, though it's not a modern version. Here's an emulator that you can use to play the SNES version http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/snes/, and here's the SNES http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/snes/l.html . Alternatively, there's this: http://www.elizium.nu/scripts/lemmings/ .
Just thought of another option: ZSNES has a multiplayer feature. Get a pair of gamepads and go to town on some Secret of Mana or Seiken Densetsu 3 (ROM, translation).
I love that game! There's a hacked version of it that's only available for emulators called "Pussy City Pimps." If you haven't tried it yet you should give it a play through for a laugh. That is if you are into poop and sex humor.
Emulators are different programs that run old school, some even current-gen but this require a smexy ass computer and most are in beta, games. Some emulators use ROMs or ISO's depending on the console. This is a good site for finding ROMs and Emulators. http://www.romnation.net/
Emulation and abandonware have led me to many games I wouldn't know ever existed. Companies like Square-Enix (via ESA) choose to protect alive franchises and ignore dead ones. If you respect their wishes, while technically illegal, I don't think its immoral. Nobody is getting sued for playing the fan-translated Rudra no Hihou.
