Searching online seems to say yes, it does stream directly from the phone (your camera).
Those who like to do IRL streams, this is quite the answer.

It's a light. This type of light is used to brighten things and produce even lighting from multiple angles.

I’ve read that iPhones do not record at a constant frame rate, so syncing with audio that is constant won’t align. Here’s an article about processing your video first to get it to a constant frame rate. https://www.switcherstudio.com/blog/fix-lip-sync-issues-with-iphone-video
One man show?
Maybe, but, not really. They're more for set stage/conference/churches, etc.
Live sports usually need zooms. That's a no go on mevos- they're fixed lens/digital zoom only (and, it's not really a zoom, it's a crop, and only 1080p to start).
I have them and love them, but, wouldn't use them for your use case.
Going cheap, try iPhone 13 pros with this software: https://www.switcherstudio.com/
Otherwise, just stick with videocams with something like an ATEM switcher.

We have both and they are easy to use and understand. Mevo is a little cylindrical camera that we attach to a tripod and battery bank for longer sessions just in case. Has an app for easy remote mobile use.
Switcher was acquired for the iPad in the office and I guess even more "mobile" streaming.

Easy to setup, easy to use, once we did it a few times and learned it completely ourselves we were allowed to farm out to yearbook students so we were not required to come back to every streaming event.
We're so excited for this! Switcher Studio is an iOS-based app that allows you to livestream or record a mutlicamera video with iOS devices (up to 9 connected devices).
You can stream or share directly to Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, LinkedIn and more! Great for podcasters and simple to use. https://www.switcherstudio.com/solutions/podcasting
Not to talk about ourselves, BUT Switcher Studio is great for livestreaming or recording your podcast to share to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, or almost anywhere else.
Switcher Studio’s livestreaming software helps you produce a video podcast with gear you already own, aka iOS-devices. Check out more information here - https://www.switcherstudio.com/solutions/podcasting
Does big job mean, you're getting paid?
If so, pay for gear and software. If you go cheap, it'll look cheap.
I would BUY Switcher Studio software. https://www.switcherstudio.com/
As long as it's in the same room and it's not a conference hall sized room you can do wireless fine.
Get an ipad and 3 iphone SE's or 6s's ($100 ea) and you'll have a pretty pro looking product.
Spend the time to learn the software (overlays, graphics, text, fades, etc.).
Hi:
Please take a look at Switcher Pro. It is an Apple IOS based software app that allows you to use your existing iphone/ipad/macbook as multi-camera assets to easily live stream on social media platforms such as Facebook. FYI, copied below is the description fro their website:

I think this is perhaps the perfect solution for your needs.
Live video is a powerful way to connect with people in real time — unless you’re just pointing a single phone at your face. (Your face is wonderful, of course, but that’s kinda boring.) Switcher Studio lets you connect multiple iPhones and iPads to create unforgettable, multicamera live videos complete with text, graphics, editing, and effects. Share the moment with the world by streaming directly to Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Microsoft Stream, and beyond.
I tried a demo version myself and it works perfectly and is very affordable requiring you to just set up a subscription account. You can try it free for 30 days with full features. I hope this helps.
I would go with a specialized system for this kind of thing that's not traditional videography. The two to look at (and who sort of specialize in chruch, government, edu type stuff) are Mevo and Switcher Studio.
