I'm not sure if you're familiar with this other game, but the perspective and the sprite art reminds me of Star Command.
There's Star Command. It feels like a corny space ship version of those isometric kiddie multitasking games like Diner Dash, but it surprisingly has the exact same elements when you think about it:
- choose your ship and visit different systems at will
- man systems, repair damaged ones, defeat boarders, put out fires, and fix hull breaches
- specialize your crew members, heal them when injured, and use temporary crew powers
- dodge enemy shots
- pay for system upgrades
- choose your dialogue
- do side quests
Haha. There's zero replay value to it, though.
Unbelievably the only thing that gave me a similar vibe is Star Command on mobile.
It's simpler because its mobile only but still remains a solidly tactical game.

Anybody know of games like Star Command? I love this game. I know the dev released an online thing on steam. I want an Android game. I've tried Pixel starship, but it's pay wall is not ideal to say the least. I'll gladly pay for a good game, but the story is important to me. Pixel starships has none imo.
Star Command on Android / iOS(?) was pretty good too. It's more about the internal resources of keeping systems up and running rather than the battle-focused FTL, but both are good games.
I also think there's a sequel to Star Command coming out on Steam soon.
That looks exactly like pixel art from the Android game Star Command (however, I can't say that I remember ever actually seeing that animation upon dying in gameplay).
Star Command is cool. I wish FTL would come to Android as well at some point.
Sounds like FTL, but that's never been ported to the google store, so I looked for some similar titles.

While not specifically Star Trek, Star Command is a pretty fun game
