I really like AnySoftKeyboard.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard
AnySoftKeyboard is a privacy based keyboard. Ill admit I don't like it more than googles keyboard, but it doesn't store everything I type so its worth it.
AnySoftKeyboard is more than enough for me. If you're a polyglot than you might need something else though. It's open source, so you know it isn't sending what you type "back home". (F-Droid, Play Store).
+1 for AnySoftKeyboard. Seems odd at first but I actually hate using anything else now. You can get it off of the Play Store or F-Droid. I myself have tried using F-Droid as much as possible.
AnySoftKeyboard tends to be pretty good. Many customisable keyboard layouts and options.
No "swype"-style typing though, or at least as far as I'm aware of. That's not a big deal to me at all, but it is for some people, so it's worth mentioning.
Test AnySoftKeyboard
You can install AnySoftKeyboard from GooglePlay, and then add the Dvorak layout to it from its settings. It has the Esperanto letters on long-press. I just checked it.
AnySoftKeyboard is free, opensource and really lightweight if you want back to the basics and out with the privacy-invasive fluff.
Hii SoloShataki!
You can check out these open source keyboards:
Cheers :)
You could give AnySoft Keyboard a try, it's open-source and has tons of features. I haven't tried it but might give it a go:
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard/
You don't need to root a device to install a third party keyboard, there are a few on F-Droid that collect no data at all.
A couple of them, like AnySoftKeyboard, even made their way onto the Play Store.
Honestly, try AnySoftKeyboard. It's open source, both on f-droid and Play Store. It has great features

Select EN Compact layout
And change some things on interface > other configurations
Just an advice it transforms in normal keyboard when screen orientation is landscape
About customization is wide
I hope that's what you looking for
Suprised no one has mentioned AnySoftKeyboard. Its completely open source, doesnt require any permissions and you can edit the layout and color of the keyboard however you want.

Try Anysoft Keyboard.

I’m giving it a try right now. It does split. I’m not a swipe user, so far so good. There are a lot of features and tweaks and it appears that with over 1M downloads its still pretty active. I’ll update everyone after a day or so.
I know that AnySoftKeyboard has got T9 layout available for English in the settings, but unfortunately I'm not sure how well it works with the hardware keyboard.
out of curiosity, which phone is that?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard&hl=en
This is a highly customizable keyboard for Android (meant for additional language support) - I've been using it for years. This may work for you.
so you just to change your keyboard, I use this and it works perfectly (or use the gboard if u wanna send all your data)
You can install a keyboard app that supports this layout, for instance AnySoftKeyboard seems to support it.
> o circumvent it, short of abandon
At some point, your phone will have asked, something like, 'Would you like to install Google or Samsung(if you're on a Sam phone of course) keyboard?' You don't. Because even if you use private modes, Duck Duck Go, Signal, it will not matter if your keys are being tracked. Install Anysoft keyboard. Unless I've missed a change in the past few months, they do not log your keystrokes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard&hl=en_US
I've switched to AnySoftKeyboard, it's a bit clunkier than Gboard in some regards but it does what I need without me dealing with Google's crap. Highly recommend it.
I use Simple Clock instead of Alarmio, and also AnySoftKeyboard instead of OpenBoard. These apps are open-source and they don't use internet connection, I recommend them.
I use AnySoftKeyboard on Android.
In the Settings, you can set to have the Arrow keys.
It's really useful to have them, not just inside Termux..
It's completely free BTW
If you want another keyboard, you can try Any Soft. It's a little janky, but has spell check and word prediction/completion, unlike Simple keyboard.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard
SwiftKey is another option, but it also has lots of extra features like gifs and whatnot. Maybe a little harder to hit those buttons on accident, though?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
It isn't as good as GBoard obviously but between their privacy focus and the work they've put in on it I'm using this full time now.
AnySoftKeyboard is the closest I've found yet to gBoard. The only difference is that the swiping gestures aren't as actuate, but they're working on it.

you can try AnySoft keyboard it's open source : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.menny.android.anysoftkeyboard&hl=en_US I really Mike it despite of strange layout position of . '
Anysoftkeyboard, Open source, also in F-Droid.
Merely occupies 14-29 MB memory. Excellent for use in old/low end devices as well as powerful devices after enabling animations. I have it on all my devices.
Can install other language packs if you wish. Prediction is very good, comparable to other established keyboards, can turn it off if you wish. Emojis are available.
Very customizable.
If you care about your privacy you probably shouldn't use a keyboard that requests your location, wants to read your SMS messages, collects information about what you write with it, connects to Google servers...

Officially it's all justified, it's for your convenience and they promise to respect your anonymity, but you don't have access to the source code and you can't verify that it actually works as they say. Google has been discovered collecting info even when the user explicitly said otherwise, they always say it was an unintended bug, here an example; https://qz.com/1131515/google-collects-android-users-locations-even-when-location-services-are-disabled/
Yes, bugs do happen in software, but a keyboard that doesn't even have access to the Internet nor your location nor your SMS messages... can't accidentally leak that information. AnySoftKeyboard is Free software and open source, you can see the source code and even compile it yourself if you want, it can propose you words in many languages thanks to lists of words and their frequency of use in the language, it's not personalized but it's good enough for me, these "language packs" work offline, you don't download them with the Keyboard (it can't access the Internet) but form Play Store or F-Droid...

AnySoftKeyboard does request permission to access your contacts in order to propose their names when you write, but you can say no and I trust that it honors this, and if I didn't I would read the source code or ask a programmer to do it for me.

AnySoftKeyboard
I know that keyboard and file explorer recommendations can go down a rabbit hole; but recently I think these are noteworthy:
MiXplorer. Not on the playstore or f-droid, but has a healthy following on XDA. It's extensible through add-ons and skins, and has novel features like EncFS support as well as many cloud and network protocols. Developer still seems quite active.
Permissions: Modify Storage, Wifi, NFC, Bluetooth, set wallpaper, install shortcuts, full network (unfortunately this seems to be for the remote filesystem and cloud storage).
I've not sniffed all its traffic yet; but when blocking with AFWall+ and logging on it has not yet raised any red flags. (Note: I don't use cloud storage, only the FTP and HTTP servers with it. YMMV).
AnySoftKeyboard. A nice alternative to Hacker's Keyboard. Open source, on Play store and F-Droid. Lots of config options. Just added next word prediction without aggregating your data to remote servers and doesn't expose the clipboard as far as I can tell.
Permissions: Contacts, Modify Storage, dictionary r+w, vibration
Can I ask what is the policy here for self-promoted apps? I have a very small utility that I wrote to test Android Studio some time back that helps with URL links. Not FOSS at the moment as I've been too lazy to audit and refactor the code. But it's zero permissions and too dumb to collect anything. It just lets you set it as the default browser so that when you follow URLs you can choose which browser you want to use on the fly from a generated list of installed browsers.
AnySoftKeyboard. Open-source, respects your privacy.

Unfortunately, there is no great alternative yet. Two secure alternatives well regarded by the community are AnySoftKeyboard and Hacker's Keyboard. But, be advised, they are ugly.
You could also download Cobalt232's BlackBerry Manager, which lets you download BlackBerry Keyboard (among many other BB apps) without actually having a BlackBerry. But I've never done this myself.
Good luck.
I've been a happy user of ASK for a while now

I prefer Anysoft Keyboard. (F-Droid, Google Play) you will need to use this second download with it for Esperanto Support (F-Droid, Google Play).

Sorry to hear that you don't have it in whichever keyboard you use. I have it in AnySoftKeyboard from F-Droid or from Play Store, see <https://imgur.com/a/IZm0pSK>.

AnySoftKeyboard does too, and it's open source.
AnySoftKeyboard is super customizable and open source.
