Bring! grocery shopping lists does exactly this. I use it with me and my wife. You can edit the list, and the other person will receive a notification that you just changed the list. Its been very handy so far.
I've just discovered an app called Bring that looks like it might do what you want.
I haven't actually used it though, so I cannot vouch for it's quality or functionality. It does look nice though :-)
Bring! Shopping List is one of my favourite apps on WearOS. Really handy for shopping without having to hold a phone with a list.
I wouldn't say "nothing comes close". Bring! is a LOT better for managing shopping lists and has a great WearOS app and voice.
It also has icons which I find much easier to use while shopping, and the recipe feature is getting pretty good now. One tap and you have all your shopping ingredients for a whole meal, very handy.
It's also free. I don't see Keep replacing it anytime soon.

The only app I installed in the day before it started working was "Bring!"
Recently updated apps with more invasive permissions are "ES File Explorer" and "Facebook", but given their respective popularity I'd expect more of an outcry if it was one of those.
My wife and I use Bring. It's free (no IAPs even. Properly free) for iOS and Android, integrates with Wear (if you have an Android Wear watch) and syncs multiple grocery lists between two people. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.publisheria.bring
That's why I additionally have a smartwatch, I often forget stuff or think "I'll remember", but I won't 😔
On your phone: If typing takes too long, dictate it. If this is also (too) cumbersome, then use a voice recorder app. If you don't have your hands free, use your assistant (Google, Siri etc). For example: I set up "Bring" as my shopping list app and love to add stuff to my list with Google assistant.
Another tip: check your notes. I wrote down million things, but they're worthless, if you don't check them later/anytime 😅
(Seems to be obvious, but it's not. I struggle with it a lot)
Is Bring available in your country. It's a grocery list that's great. Use it all the time.
Ich nutze mit meiner Freundin die App Bring!. Gemeinsame Einkaufsliste erstellt und los geht's. Funktioniert bei uns ziemlich gut.

If this could be of anyone's interest, there's this little minimalistic app called Bring! that will help you in a fast way to memorize your shopping list, by just pressing squares. The experience gets better with time since the app memorizes your priorities, and you can even sync it with anyone you wish.
You can even sync it across your devices, once you set your list, all your devices will update.
I found it after tons of weed and hours of experimenting shopping list apps, but most of them are just boring/hard to use/full of ads, etc.
My wife and I use Bring! for this. My main reason for using this over other shopping list apps was the Android Wear support (which is great) but I really like the design and functionality of the app too.
I like using Bring!. You can create different lists on your phone for various things, like grocery shopping. It will send the list to your watch where you can check items off as you pick them up.
For this you need an app called 'Bring' which is extremelly easy, beautifully designed and syncs accross devices so you and youre wife can both see the list and mark off bought items etc.

Yes. Also has a web interface if you want to plan your shopping list in advance on your computer.
Bring! Shopping List (Android) looks promising.
As the others here already said, you can use Google Keep for that. Here's a good article, that explains everything in detail.
I personally use Bring! as my shopping list and can say "add bread to my shopping list" and it'll do it.
For tasks, I use Todoist. Here's an article of them and how you can use it with Google Assistant.
I hope this helps you :)
I use Bring!

Assolutamente Bring!

switch to Bring! it's been a life saver for me and my wife over the years and integration into Assistant made it indispensable. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.publisheria.bring
I use Bring https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.publisheria.bring
It's simple, but works really well, it has all the common products already in categories
My most used apps to date have been part of a triple-combo - Bring!, Stocard and Google Pay. Being able to share a shopping list with the wife, shop with a shared loyalty card and even pay without grabbing a phone/wallet has been a good time for me! (plus I've earned 20 USD in Google Play credit doing so).
Wunderlist is good. Lately I've been trying Bring! as well

That's why Bring needs a per-item description field.
Dude, if you're doing shared shopping lists you should definitely try Bring.
