To be very honest, I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS call bubble shit since the very beginning I bought my P6. But, before the Feb update the bubble wasnt there on the screen for me, I had a notification bar/icon/chip for the 'ongoing call' which was perfect. Looks like Google's every other update is a step back now a days.

So for the time being after losing my mind and patience with Google fixing their "UTMOST BASIC" shit, I've compromised with downloading and making another default "phone app". So far its going good.

I had the same concerns about using a third party app so I did some researching before I switched. This is the one I'm now using:

It has no ads, is pretty much identical to the stock app and people were saying good things about the developer when I was searching.

I haven't experienced this, but is the app updated to it's latest version? If you can't get it to work, try another app. Simpler Dialer works pretty well. The app store has a bunch that would do the trick.

Thank God we are on Android and have choices.

Download a 3rd party dialer, that's worked for me. It's definitely the Razer phone 'phone' app.

I've been using this one.

I used to use Simpler Dialer, but now I use Hangouts because I switched to Google Voice.

The app does spy on your contacts but I'm already under the umbrella of Google so I dont care much. It has dark theme and other cool settings.
