Try both out, decide for yourself. Personally, I prefer the UI and organization of Piktures. Plus, the ability to go into landscape mode even when you have your device set to portrait is awesome.
They're both fairly similar, honestly it comes down to which UI/flow you prefer.
Edit: Bot got the Focus link wrong. Correct link
Definitely use a third party app. Photos is literally only good for backing up your photos and using Google's image search when looking for a specific photo or subject.
I use Focus ([link]) but I'm sure others can recommend other great gallery apps as well.
If you'd rather not "prank your friends" like Ninja Snap does, and just want to lock a particular photo to the screen, a third-party gallery app called Focus works well. It prevents swiping and requires a fingerprint or passcode to exit.
Focus - Picture Gallery supports Nexus Imprint feature.
> 7 - Lock Focus from un-wanted eyes with password protection or, if you're on Android™ Marshmallow, use your fingerprint
There's one called Focus. You can see a quick review of it here (it seems to have quite a lot of functionality even outside of the swipe locking).
Can't comment from experience, I basically never use my phone for photography/photos, so I haven't installed anything outside the stock Gallery app.
If you're on Android, some third-party gallery apps have this feature. Focus, in particular, lets you lock the viewer to a particular photo, and requires a fingerprint or passcode to exit.
I have recently stumbled across Focus after using Piktures for a few months. It has some paid features that would probably come in handy but I'm not in desperate need of them and just started to test the app so I don't want to potentially waste money. So far, however, the app seems like a good find for me.
create a .nomedia file on the folder that DJI stores those images so your gallery app doesn't index it, you can use an alternate gallery app like Focus and hide it
I moved from Quickpic to Focus after it got bought by the Cheetah mob. It's quite good.
To be honest though, I'm finding more and more that I just use Google Photos. It's gotten very good.
This app has a swipe prevention feature on android.
But I haven't used it, so, not sure how well it works.
>5 - Prevents others from swiping when you're showing them your pictures
I like franco's gallery app called Focus
Has fingerprint support as well - you can put pictures in the "Vault" and can only be accessed once you use your fingerprint. Has tags to organize your photos as well.
You can view local photos without being online. But, if you don't like Photos, try Focus. It's in its early stages and kinda bare bones right now, but he is adding features quickly. [link]
I meant this Focus
