I use foobar2000 and simple last.fm scrobbler
while I do recommend the foobar2000 in general, it's not required for the scrobbler, it seems to support rather wide variety of players. (the store page has a list of supported ones)
I'm not aware if there's any single app solutions for this. but who knows
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobar2000.foobar2000 Not used it as I use Google play music, but it supports flac and is made by the guy behind the windows application which has long been the best music player (on Windows at least) by far.

Well, foobar2000 is different from the others. Not sure if you can change the record of times played, as I haven't used it for years. It has a learning curve to customize.
20k give or take. I'm partial to Foobar2000. I got 27k on my iPod. The iPod is old, obviously, so I also have a good amount of MP3s stored on a micro SD card on my phone using the Foobar2000 app.
I use Foobar2000
It has some of the plugins from the Windows version built in and I like the way it sounds but the interface is very "love it or hate it".
Foobar 2000 used to be good on pc back in the day and there's an Android version. poweramp also comes up in Google searches.
Thanks, this looks like a helpful start ...
If you mean for all the sound sources, I don't have any good suggestions.
However, the Foobar2000 Android player has a solid EQ with numerous bands, if you only play local files, which I tend to. It's not flawless, but the price is right. I think it was 18 or 20 band EQ.

Is it on Google Play or F-Droid? I'll check it out.
I've personally switched over to GoneMad, and rather like it now.
Edit - this app?
I haven't tried for a long time, but I remember that Foobar should be able to do that when I tried.
Other than that, there isn't any one I'm aware of, as I asked this question before.

I'm using foobar2000. It's an alright player... plays FLAC, AAC, MP3, etc. Totally free and based on the windows app.
Has a preamp option with gain that amplifies the headphone volume considerably. Have the HE-350 and set the gain near max and almost blew my ears out.

Foobar2000 has an Android app. Can't go wrong with that.

Is this the one you're talking about? There are a few apps with some variation of the word foobar.
foobar2000 - it is free and works. It is also ugly, but supports album artists and replaygain.
foobar2000 has great functionality, but is not as pretty as Shuttle.

Depend on the codecs supported by the player
https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-s8/specs/ claims to support
MP3, M4A, 3GA, AAC, OGG, OGA, WAV, WMA, AMR, AWB, FLAC, MID, MIDI, XMF, MXMF, IMY, RTTTL, RTX, OTA, DSF, DFF
Probably using a Samsung supplied media player.

I'd say foobar2000 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobar2000.foobar2000
Foobar2000 has full ReplayGain support (playback and scanning).
foobar2000 FTW
I've been using Foobar2K on android as my audio player. I like the simplicity of the interface.
foobar2000 has an android app that can recognise external storage
Free, but little to no options:
All the Bells and Whistles (Trial versions available):
Foobar2000 That's the player everyone over at Head-Fi uses for their setups via PC, as of today, it's on Android. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobar2000.foobar2000
I've been told foobar2000 is the average recommendation from reddit users. I have no objections app store
Also vanced for the youtube non stop constant music playlists
