There are lots of apps that can record tracks, however the biggest problem usually is poor GPS reception inside the aircraft. So, if app can keep GPS sensor on all the time, you may get some decent tracking. Try Kidstrack (it has a setting to keep GPS on when connected to external power), and connect it to onboard charger - you MAY get some tracks.
You can buy him old cheap Android phone, and install tracking app. There are different tracking apps out there - some don't use internet and report location by SMS, but there will be no real time tracking. Some use internet and report location constantly, but then you have to buy data plan. Take a look at Kidstrack. It is:
free
anonymous
keeps history for a week
sends updates every 1-60 minutes
See example of live map here

If you had android, I would recommend https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.izhforum.kidstrack which does exactly what you ask
Kidstrack - I wrote it to monitor where my kids are
Try Kidstrack - you can share phone's location via link and your colleagues in the office could monitor it on live page, plus it keeps 1 week of history
