Download this app. Its the gameboy. Dont open it yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree
Then click this link, click the big green download button and wait 10seconds for the download to start. Your phone should pop up something when it's done. This is the game.

Now open the gameboy app. Itll says some bullshit. Hit okay. Now you have to find the where your phone put the game. It should be under the download folder. Scroll down and click it. Now find the game and click that.
Game Freak. Nidorino vs Gengar. ??? Pokemon Master.
I just did it myself in ten seconds, so it should work. Let me know if you need it broken down further.
?
If you want to play Game Boy Pokemons use either of these two emulators:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.dbtecno.pizzaboy
GB spiele funktionieren mit MyBoy nicht, für die braucht man OldBoy. Oder man spielt die die GBA Versionen Feuerrot/Blattgrün
MyOldBoy for Android can support Super Game Boy palletes
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree&hl=en
My Old Boy free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree And My Old Boy paid: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbc The nice part of this emulator, besides how polished it is, would be that it can emulate a link cable.
I've been playing Pokemon Yellow with the My Oldboy! GBC emulator lately. Has a fast forward option for walking faster, uses a super low amount of battery... it's awesome.
My Oldboy! + ROM
Stop using Gameboid. It hasn't been updated in years. ~~Use either My Oldboy! or the Gambatte~~ Use My Boy! or the VBA-M core of RetroArch.
Edit - updated the emulators linked, didn't realize it was GBA, not GB/GBC
I was like you, a casual fan of the games for many years. When I played Moon I realised how easy and uninspired the series had become over the years.
I then discovered the wonderful world of Pokemon romhacks and fan games, which have already been mentioned in the replies, and have never turned back. I just wanted to add some details in this regard.
There are tons of games out there to choose from and the quality is incredible, much much better than anything Nintendo will ever make. You can even play them on your phone or tablet, for example I installed My Oldboy on my 8 year-old nephew's tablet and downloaded Pokemon Red++ for him, which is a romhack that fixes bugs in the original game and adds new features.
If you're interested, there's the r/PokemonROMhacks sub that has a lot of info on this stuff. You can choose to either play completely new games (Drayano hacks are particularly recommended, as well as Pokemon Uranium) or re-visit the old games with nuzlocke or randomizers or, like in the case of Red++, with bugfixes and new features.
Hell, there's even a Pokemon mod for Minecraft (Pixelmon), fan-made Pokemon MMOs (https://pokemmo.eu/, https://pokemon-planet.com/, and others), and Smogon university (along with Pokemon Showdown, which allows you to concentrate on PvP battling without having to find, breed, and lvl up mons).
I hope this helps!
Or you could install this app, if you don't want to spend $:

If you have a computer with internet, the possibilities are almost endless. You can go waste a whole afternoon in a blink in tvtropes. Or you can pick up some webcomics to read. My personnal suggestion : manhwa, they are free and of excellent quality.
Consider an online programming course. I'd suggest you start with C, it's better to fully embrace how a computer works.
There is a handful of free or on-sales games on Steam. Also some really good flash games in Kongregate.
Did you know you can install a gameboy emulator on most smartphones? I'd suggest My Oldboy (the free version doesn't allow cheat and quicksave but you don't need that, do you?).
If you don't have a computer, go pick up a book.
If you don't like to read, go for a walk. Explore your vicinity. Maybe it's time to get a haircut?
You don't want to go out? Exercise. Do 15 pushups then 15 abs.
Do your chores. Go tidy and clean your room. If it's time, start cooking and take an early meal.
Take a shower. Or a bath. Enjoy the warmth and relax.
If you really don't want to do any of this, you are likely to be a bit tired. Consider taking a nap. You don't feel like sleeping? Meditate. Sit down and focus on your breath.
Here's the free version but there's a pay version as well if you'd care to help the development: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree
I already have this it's called myoldboy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree

I'd like to introduce you to my friend https://3ds.guide
Once you're acquainted, I'd like to introduce you to another of my friends, https://gbatemp.net/threads/discussion-new-super-ultimate-injector-nsui.500376/
You can now inject games into the 3ds virtual console. Now inject the gbc version of dq1-2. Alternatively, download MyOldBoy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree on your android device (might be a gbc emulator on ios too, idk). dq1-2 on Android and snes have issues and gbc is better in every way than nes. Now dq3 you can play on Android/ios, but I don't think the names will line up with the gbc version of dq1-2 (since these 3 games are a closely connected trilogy unlike any other games in the series) so really you want to play the gbc version of dq3 too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about dq3.
Dragon Quest 4 is the first (and only) game you need to play on mobile. Unlike every other game, the mobile version here is the definitive one. Depending on if you like the controls and the prices of the games vs the ds carts, dq5-6 mobile and ds are interchangeable.
Skipping to dq8 (dq7 isn't on mobile), here's another point where having put cfw on your 3ds pays off because you're going to want to patch the game to put back in the ps2 soundtrack. If you have a good pc that's even better because you can then upscale the 3ds version with Citra for the true definitive experience.
tl;dr: play the gbc version of dq1-3 rather than the mobile version. You can play it on mobile anyway. Play the mobile version of dq4 and if you're not sick of the controls, stick with mobile for dq5-6. dq7 probably play on 3ds, not really relevant. dq8 play on Citra upscaled with music patch if you have a good pc, 3ds with music patch if you have cfw (first link), and regular 3ds if you don't. Do not play mobile version of dq8.
tl;dr tl;dr: Only play mobile version of dq4-6. dq4 mobile is a must, dq5-6 are just as good on ds.
Check out Emuparadise for all your emulators and ROMs
Emulators I've had great success with:
Nintendo 64: Project 64
GameCube and Wii: Dolphin
Playstation: PCSX Reloaded
Playstation 2: PCSX2
Gameboy / Gameboy Color on an Android phone: MyOldBoy
Here's the best place to get and setup Tony Hawk games:
Other people have listed most of the classics. You can use their lists, but I also recommend consulting Metacritic for the top-rated games by year
The original Tetris ran on the Soviet Elektronika 60 Microcomputer, but I'm assuming you're not looking for that version and instead the one released by Nintendo for the Game Boy a few years later. You need a ROM of the original game ("tetris game boy ROM") and open it with a Game Boy emulator.
On PC, the most accurate emulator for the Game Boy and several other old systems is Higan, but it has relatively high hardware requirements. If the game doesn't run well, get a less accurate emulator like BGB, which should have no issues with Tetris anyway.
On Android, My OldBoy should do the trick.
Before you do this, consider:
1. Supporting the creators of mentioned apps by buying the paid versions if you ACTUALLY enjoy the emulator. If not, move on to the next one.
2. Not all ROMs are going to work. Development for these emulators takes time. Although, some of these emulators have been around for a while, not everyone is getting total support for their hard work. The incentive to keep working on these emulators is dead without our support. Here you go:
Order OTG cables on Amazon, download emulators/ROMS to your android phone, plug your DS4/Xbox controller using the OTG/charging cable to your phone.
Emulators I use:
GB/GBC: My OldBoy!
GBA: My Boy!
NES: John NES
N64: SuperN64
SNES: Snes9x EX+
PSP: PPSSPP
These emulators have free versions and paid versions on the Google Play store. The only ones I actually paid for were My Boy! And My OldBoy! For the extra speed (Paid versions can speed up to 16x). It's nice for Pokemon games and the sort.
I get my ROMs here: emuparadise
I've been doing this for years. It's always worked for me. I hope it does for you.
If you don't have an iPhone,
You can even get one for your phone.
Checkout My OldBoy! that's what I'm currently using on my Android device.
