Yep if your rooted then Titanium Backup is what you need. If you dont have root then you could install MyAppSharer from the playstore, allows you to save the .apk locally to your device, send via email ect. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info and the video. That might make a great sales pitch for the Go if we can do all that in Minecraft VR 3D.
@rookan. I use the MyAppSharer app to find my phone's existing Gear VR APKs. I can then save them to the computer and use adb.exe to sideload them from the computer to the Go. The nightmare of the Sig files is over.

I have no clue whats going on, but you can send her the apk to install by sharing it with this app. I would post the apk here but Moto sends DMCA's for links to their apps.
I can't be sure but perhaps using a APK extractor and a file explorer(FX File is good) maybe they'll be in there? MyApkSharer || Fx File
The way I circumvented the problem was by accessing the child apps directly without going through the main app that requires you to log in. If you install MyAppSharer for example, you will be able to find all the apps installed on your phone, even hidden ones. With this I was able to open the Oculus Browser directly without having to open the main app first to log in.

You can still sideload those apps from Linux, see https://beebom.com/how-sideload-android-apps-chromebook
Take the apk from your Android phone with MyAppSharer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer
If you're moving to a Samsung phone, use smart switch and it'll transfer over just fine.
Otherwise download MyAppSharer and send it to yourself.

Sure, first install this app from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer then at the top make sure it's toggled to APK, not link. Find the app you want the APK for and toggle the tickbox, then tap the Share circle button that appears in the bottom right corner. Choose where you want to export the APK to and there you have it.
Last year Viso Places stopped working on the Gear VR because it couldn't connect to the Internet. They fixed that problem.
I just checked the app in the Go and it's still working. The version that I have came from the Oculus Store. I installed it onto the Go from the Oculus Store back when it was available on the store in the Go section. The app shows up in the Go's "Unknown Sources" section because the Go must have moved it there when it made it invisible on the main list of Library apps.
I'll guess that the Gear VR version you have is the same version I have since I don't recall a recent update for that app.
You might try copying the APK from your Gear VR using the Play Store's "MyAppSharer" app ..

That's what I use to copy a Gear VR APK to my computer and then sideload that APK onto the Go. For instance, that worked fine when I grabbed an old copy of the 360Photos app from the Gear VR to sideload to the Go. I never tried using an emulator to transfer APKs so I don't know how well that works. It seems like it should.
However, that Viso Places error message about not being able to connect did occur last year. Maybe your Gear VR has a very old version of Viso Places. If so, that old version might have the bug that the developer fixed last year. That won't be the problem though if today, you can get to Viso Places using your Gear VR. One tragic possibility might be if Oculus, through some method, did something so that users can't sideload that app and get it to work.
If you want to do this you can install this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer)
Choose the wall then extract it and upload it to any website
Thanks anyway :)
I've installed this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer
It let's me export the APK--the current one--at any time and reupload it to my secondary device without google play services
Can you create an APK? See https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer (use the "export to SD" option)
I sideloaded mobile plex. You can download apk from any of these apk website like https://apkpure.com/search?q=plex or use apps like MyAppShare https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer&hl=en and use it to save installed app from your android device and move it to PC. Once you have apk file on your PC, then just drag and drop it on Sidequest.
