Cloudmagic is amazing for me. It has all the features you listed, is easy to set up. Only thing is I'm not sure if emails are downloaded to company server, I certainly hope not... I should go check now.

Last I used it, this app lets you register the account with their service, instead of with your phone. It's been over a year since I used it, but like you, I'd rather not have my company as a device admin on my personal phone and this worked fine.
Here is their official website : https://newtonhq.com/ ChromeOS compatibility isn't mentioned and I don't think they'll bother know that the Play Store is coming. Unfortunately, you're out of luck if you don't have the play store for now
EDIT: latest Android app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail&referrer=utm_source%3Dhomepage
I think I might have a solution for question 2.
If you use the CloudMagic app for syncing with Exchange then there aren't any administrator security settings to worry about - it just works.
so if used an mailwise or something cloudmagic in place of outlook mobile it would sync?
definitely will try this, I am holding back buying a Pebble until I heard if this was doable.
I have the same issue with my M9, their 'fix' didn't fix much. I get maybe 1 email out of 15.
I ended up dropping the gmail app and using a 3rd party app that doesn't rely on the system level sync/push. Cloudmagic was my choice, but there are a number that use their own sync service.
I still have issues with other notifications (messaging apps), but at least I get my emails now.
I've been following this for a few weeks. I've had this issue since my HTC M9 got 6.0. At first it was occational, but for about the past month I don't get notifications from gmail and a couple other apps at all.
I switched to Cloudmagic, it's as close to the gmail app as I could find (you can even change the color to red). It doesn't use the system level sync services, so you get emails.
I haven't noticed the Gmail app draining battery any more than usual since the latest update, but I don't use it all that much after finding CloudMagic - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail
Not sure regarding the selective folder sync, but I believe you should check these two: cloudmagic email: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail
mymail: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.my.mail
Good luck.
I'd switch to a diff mail app, cloudmagic and gmail can both be set up with your mail server. Maybe you'd like inbox. I thought cloudmagic was great, especially for search, but I liked the interface and functionality of gmail better.
I'd use google calendar or sunrise instead of the samsung calendar.
Check out hangouts instead of whatever the default text messaging program is. Some people like textra, but since I use google voice in addition to my carrier number, hangouts is the better option for me.
I like google keyboard. Some people like swiftkey. There are a zillion keyboard apps, get used to using gesture typing instead of picking individual letters on the keyb no matter what keyboard you end up with. So much faster.
Dont forget to install your free Samsung Galaxy Gift apps.
You may want to switch your launcher to something like nova or google now
I use Carhome Ultra and have the app launch and take over my phone when it senses that the phone is connected to my car's bluetooth.
Relay for Reddit is my fave reddit app
Here are some tut vids on the note 4 specific features like minimize, split screen, window overlay, copy paste etc. I use these features all the time. I also make my whole screen smaller by swiping from an edge then to center then back to same edge.
Long press the back button to bring up your multi-tasking/app overlay tray. scroll to bottom and hit edit to add/remove programs. I have mine dwindled down to just the things I use in overlay.
Short press the 'menu' button to bring up your app switcher to switch between running apps. Yes there is a slight delay, no there is no fix.
Long press the 'menu' button to bring up hidden menus in old programs that don't have the android 3 dots, hamburger or other menu button.
Some people like tempered glass screen protectors. I like the Ringke Slim case.
You have a whole new world of QI (wireless) charging and NFC (proximity awareness) to play with.
Basically stick an NFC tag anywhere, program your phone with Tasker or Trigger to do things when it reads that tag. E.g. put an nfc tag in your car, automatically switches on bluetooth, gps, turns off wifi, changes brightness, texts your gf that you're at location X etc. Put one next to your bed, automatically turns on do not disturb, turns volume off, turns on soothing music, texts your gf to send nudes.
I was diehard iPhone 2008-2013, and it was rough moving to the Note 3. The Note 4 is a lot better than the Note 3, but still I'm sure it'll be frustrating. Just stick it out a while.
Have fun! :)

You should try CloudMagic, it's user friendly and supports all popular email services.
I always recommend CloudMagic as an email app. Nova Launcher is also a go-to rec if you decide to experiment with customizing your home screen(s). There are a slew of great Reddit apps, but Sync is my personal favorite.
I use CloudMagic Email https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail&hl=en It is very user friendly and easily organized.
CloudMagic is a nice app.
Although, Outlook is also shaping to be a great app as well.
You don't like using the Gmail app for your other email? I originally used Cloudmagic but switched to the Gmail app.

The Gmail app now supports IMAP accounts.
Otherwise, CloudMagic is a good alternative.
I can recommend CloudMagic: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail
If you want to use Gmail, no.
I use CloudMagic and it doesn't require Device Admin so avoids the PIN issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail
CloudMagic would be worth a test run for you, or you might try myMail.
I use CloudMagic but I might have to try out Nine now...
Try using CloudMagic as it has great AW support. :) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail&hl=en
I'd highly suggest Newton Mail. It supports everything you're looking for, and more. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail&hl=en
I can only speak from my own experience. My workplace doesn't allow the forwarding of mails (I was trying to get mails forwarded to my gmail). So I was happy when I found Cloudmagic. I didn't have to bother with imap and pop3. Hope it works for you!
