Uninstall them and try 'Simple Social' and 'Messenger Lite'
I was a Swipe guy for months. I am all Simple now and even got the Pro version when it was free. So far it works great.
Have you tried something like this?
This is one of many unofficial Facebook alternatives, and the one I personally use. It's basically a web browser which is specialized on Facebook. It also takes up less space and uses less battery than the official app. I recommend you give it a try!
I'm really enjoying the Simple app as a Facebook replacement. It even has messages included, so you don't need Messenger. I used to use Swipe but the dev went AWOL and the app stopped working, so I switched.

I downloaded it from a third-party website because I couldn't find it on the Play Store, but then I realized I was receiving updates through the Play Store. I think Google did something to make it non-discoverable through a search on the Play Store. It's here by the way:

Simple has a dark mode for Facebook.
^(I linked to the free version but it might only have dark mode in the pro.)
Honestly fuck FB official apps. I recommend using an app like this - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app&hl=en
The Pro version is often free (that's how I got mine) so keep an eye out for that

They do have a Pro app but I got it when it went free for a bit:

It's essentially a web wrapper. You can customize your app to your liking colour wise. I get my push notifications as well without all the FB stuff running in the background.
Cheers for linking this, I'll give the free version a shot and upgrade if it works nicely for my needs.
Up to now I I've been using Tinfoil, which is free and open source but a little lacking in features. I highly recommend it for anyone who primarily just browses their news feed!
Did you even read the article you linked? I responded. There's a quote from me in the article. I removed Simple Social from the store at the time because I wanted to, not because I had to or because I received a C&D. The article is also 8 months old, things change within that time. You were wrong and can't admit it. It'll be ok Simple Social however has been back on Google Play for months now. Have a great day 👍🏾.
i am using app called simple social. Its amazing, its default is sequential order of the time of the post and no advertisement. absolutely recommended
Oh I knew about the other supported sites (see my other comment), I guess as a non-technical person I was more trying to get an indication of how easy it was generally for NewPipe to be extended to support playing media from other sites. But given how, as you say, those others are in beta UIs that probably gives an indication. I use the Simple Social app for viewing Facebook which obviously depends on FB’s mobile interface and is able to download videos although for eg comments aren’t viewable on mobile when not logged in (unlike on the desktop); occasionally I find myself contemplating if something like NewPipe’s interface is easily adaptaple to other sites besides YouTube. Probably not.
I advice you to get rid of the Facebook app and install a wrapper for the website instead. I can recommend Simple Social: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
Thanks for suggestions .I installed already but app. crashing while calling and slow . I liked video calling button integrated but not satisfied because voice is not reaching other person. However I installed simple social app. this is also another option smooth UI , simple pro . Link : - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app

Delete it and install a mobile site-wrapper like Simple for Facebook and never look back.
Unless you NEED FB Stories, the mobile site is beyond adequate for all your Facebookery.
Simple Social is a great FB alternative app that allows messenger to be optional. It's also far less battery intensive and privacy-invading than the official Facebook app.
It's a highly optimized wrapper for Facebook. Saves a huge ball of battery instead of the official Facebook app.
Try the free before you buy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app&hl=en
It didn't allow me to add Facebook but, I disabled Facebook and download Simple for Facebook as an alternative - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app&hl=en_GB.
I was finding it hard to find a suitable alternative to Facebook but, Simple seems to be faster and uses less resources and I'm able to put it to sleep.
Simple is another alternative.

I use Simple for Facebook now as well and I'm pretty happy with it so far. It comes pretty close to Swipe in terms of the UI & options (themes, etc.), which I really liked a lot.
With the Pro version you can block sponsored posts and ads.
There's a subreddit for the app (not very active, but it is pretty new), the dev is u/creativetrends.
Of course, here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
I recommend Simple Social Browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
Clean and free.
Try Simple Social. Browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
Simple Social: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
For Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram
Free, adfree, trackingfree
It is good, but have not messenger. I use Simple pro
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
That's because you have installed or purchased the app. Try in webbrowser without being logged in: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
I'm not referring to a VPN to try to unblock the ads. That won't work because it's not got anything to do with location.
This is the type of thing I'm talking about. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.klinker.android.twitter_l https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rubenmayayo.reddit https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/releases/tag/v0.20.8

Simple Social
Try "Simple Social". https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
I just use Simple. It provides notifications and allows messaging.
But I rarely use Facebook anymore.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app&hl=en
I have the pro version and it's awesome. Keep an eye out as it goes free quite often.
Yes you can use a wrapper app such as Simple.

Simple for Facebook
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
Simple for Facebook is an app of the mobile site with some features to make the experience better. It's kind of less than the app, but more than the mobile site. You would have to turn notifications on in the app settings though, they're not automatic.
While it's most likely fake, there is great solution somewhere between using de FB app and the mobile website. It's called Simple Social, which lets you browse FB easily (incl messenger) without the bloated FB app with all its permission requirements. It's like the mobile website but greatly "appified".
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativetrends.simple.app
It's been given away multiple times in the past.
There might be more apps like this.
Edit: don't know why the downvote train arrived. I've used this before (it's been a while because I deleted my FB account) and it was pretty good.
