What type of phone is it? If possible, see if you can root your phone. Usually a factory reset does not completely wipe all the data on the phone and can still be recoverable. If you can still root your phone use these apps after rooting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete&hl=en https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en
I've used Undeleter in the past with pretty good success. I am using an older version though as it just kinda sits in my app drawer until I screw something up. Edit: not sure why but I can't get the link to show. It is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
Mounting the kindle as an external drive won't restore anything, the filesystems are completely different.
You're going to need to root it and install a file recovery app like Undeleter, but it's likely that at this point the videos are gone.
Yes. Always copy and paste then delete. Tough luck. Mind you just use an undelete tool. - Undeleter Restore Files & Data – Android Apps on Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
Keep in mind that installing stuff will end up covering your deleted stuff so some things might be corrupted.
Edit: move also deletes as it goes not in groups of files. Seems odd that all videos were deleted as it moves a file and then moves the next.
People commenting on this are completely wrong they don't really understand the android system.
No PC software will bring it back because it doesn't have root access to where the deleted files actually are.
To get your photos back you will need to root your device, just watch a YouTube tutorial and double check everything thing and you'll be fine.
Then download this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
It will take about 30 mins to 2 hours to complete but all your photos will be there.
I have done this countless times for my self and other people and have been able to receive there files every time.
Fell free to ask me any questions.
You can use Undeleter, it's available in the Play Store. As already mentioned, you won't be able to recover everything, but if you're lucky enough (and the files weren't deleted long ago, and not much was added to the internal memory - this causes the deleted data, that are technically still in the memory, to be replaced) you will be able to recover at least 70% of the pictures.
And of course, you need root. I recommend ioroot, it's probably the best option since you don't have to place anything in the internal storage. Good luck.
As a last resort, you could restore the phone to factory settings and use a recovery tool with the phone rooted. I don't think the boot loader comes locked on those phones, but there are guides online to root if you search properly. I used undeleter to recover some photos and contacts after resetting and it worked perfectly. It would also probably be worth it to talk to a recovery specialist.
Well I guess you are shit out of luck if you can't fix your 3DS on its current firmware. Make sure those two files I mentioned aren't in your /files9/ on your SD card.
You could try to use this app to undelete but it doesn't look too promising.
Wat.
If all you did was root, your pictures are still there. When you delete a picture, the phone deletes the "directory" or "file path" for that picture and makes a note that it is okay to write over. As long as you have not downloaded anything or taken more pictures(anything that could overwrite the files) they will still be there.
I'm sure you have, but try rebooting and trying the scan again. Make sure you are scanning the correct partition.
You can also try Undeleter:

If all else fails, and you are sure you did not change anything else on your phone, try rooting again, it may not have been done properly.
try giving undeleter a go https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
might work depending on how android puts the firmware back on your device, i've certainly used it a few times after deleting photos by accident
Root your phone and try this app. I vaguely remembering using a similar app to recover a phone I mistakenly formatted. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete If not ,you will have to do some research on how to recover data. As the OP comment said, recovery software will not work on MTP mode, and a lot of phones ,especially latest samsung phones have unified app/ internal memory partitions. So essentially, you cannot mount them on windows, when Android is on. Hit up the XDA forums for any alternative solutions. I lost data too once , and it sure sucks buddy, no matter whatever data it was.
In case the data is really gone for some weird reason, you might want to run Undeleter ASAP before too much of it gets overwritten, if you want a chance to recover some of it.
If by any chance you happen to use android you can get this app from the app store to recover deleted files including images.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
That app can recover anything you've deleted, and it looks nice imo but like any data recovery tool, some of the files it saves may have been corrupted sense deletion
If you have a rooted device, try Undeleter 3 and here's the Play Store link. If not, I'd suggest rooting your device. (: Other benefits too.
Well, if you haven't done anything with the phone, it might be recoverable... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete&hl=en
Of course, just installing that app would probably overwrite your data so best not to even turn it on until you get some expert help...
You can try the app called "Undeleter" on Google Play. Worked for me.

Never used this app, but it claims to be able to recover files: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
It's not perfect, because it's an imperfect process in general, but I've had some luck with this app.
I have had good success witth Undeleter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
I am not sure if this would work but it could be worth a shot:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
works great.
gonna try dumpster from the appstore though.
