Download this. I set ringer, notifications, system as synced. Media is not. I believe this works exactly the same as iPhone (if I remember correctly).
Alternatively, if you're familiar with Tasker, try this. You could set a double press or long press of either volume up or down to trigger a Tasker intent. I'm positive there's a way to bring up the volume sliders with Tasker. You'd have to look into that part yourself, or maybe someone who sees this and knows how can add to this.
Or, do both. There's no reason you can't.
Put a glass protector on. You'll never complain about too much sensitivity again.
>It's a fucking guessing game what the volume rockers are going to do. Is it going to change the media volume or ringtone volume? Who the fuck knows.
I'm looking for an app that will synchronize the million different volumes on my phone. I've got an S9, and when I was on Android 8 the app Volume Sync worked great: changing the ringer volume also changed all the other volumes, and when I toggled the phone to/from Mute all the volumes would change as well. Now under Android 9 half the time the ringer isn't the primary volume, so pushing the hardware buttons might change the media volume, bluetooth, an individual app - whatever the OS decides I'm using at the moment (even when it's not correct). Toggling out of Mute only changes the ringtone volume, leaving the rest Muted. I've been thinking about a Tasker script, but I think that could get tricky since I can't really tell what volume level is being changed since it can depend on the current app. Is there an app that will keep my volumes synced up?
In return, I've been liking the weather app Windy. The interface for the app itself is pretty complicated, but the widgets are great. It seems like the long term forecasts aren't super accurate (at least for my area - they tend to overstate the amount of rain/snow that we're supposed to get), but usually they're close enough for me.
Does an app like this work?

According to some reviews, "For those with Samsung phones having similar issues, make sure you disable power saving for the volume sync app."
Just found this thread, its been bugging me too! Does this work for you? Seems to be doing the job for me
I now found the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync, which works OK so far Deactivated the notification so that I don't have to see It all the time But somehow i don't want an app to be in the background all the time
Not sure if this is an Android 11 issue but the update had unlinked ringtone and notification volume for some stupid reason!
This app seems to be working to fix it but wish the system would actually give you the option rather than having to use a third party app!
I've been using VolumeSync for ages and it works very well. You can select which volume types it syncs. Just disable the system battery saver for it (it has a "notification" in-app for easy toggling). By default it shows a persistent notification in status bar and notification shade but it can be safely disabled.
Is there any way to set the volume buttons to just control all volume like the old days? I know some folks need independent volume controls for sounds and notifications but I don't.
edit : apparently this app lets you do it, giving it a shot now.

what exactly is the issue with the volume control? Do you want the volume rocker to adjust the ringer, media etc volumes all at once instead of them being separate? In that case (or to just sync a few of the volumes, like ringer and notification volumes) you can use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync
This may not be the app you're looking for, but I use Volume Sync to sync all volume levels (ringtone, media, notification etc). You can choose which ones you want to sync. Works for me because I'll always know that ringtone and media volumes are the same.

I just use volume sync - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync
I'll also shout out this app (not mine) which you can use to keep those two synced if you want
Not that I know of in the phone's software. But I use an app to sync all my volumes: Volume Sync
I use VolumeSync for sync of notifications and ringtone. Works perfectly.
It is stupid. I use this Volume Sync app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync
This will let you do this.

This should fix your issue.
You can unify the volume levels using Volume Sync
This worked well for my volume control needs.

You just have to type volume sync in the play store.
