Things to keep her cool. Its very humid and hot here. Its a sticky kind of heat too that makes you sweat and it feels like breathing soup. They make these cooling devices that go around your neck. I think that would be a nice thing to have as someone adjusts to the heat here.
Those in this thread that cast instant doubt on his guilt or innocence owe it to themselves to watch this documentary that is eye opening and full on anger inducing.
Stop by Yaya's bbq. It's a tiny trailer outside of a gas station at the cross roads right outside montevallo. Be sure to get a Q-Dog (Bbq on a hot dog) and a fried pie
just go here and you'll see it.
That dark red band is what we shall now refer to as the "Butter Belt", or alternately "America's Girdle."
It's not surprising as well that there's some significant overlay with this income map without even trying too hard.
>. It often takes weeks for new deaths to be assigned a date, if not longer, according to ADPH.
Is it just me or does this seem backwards? It may take some time to sort out the cause of death (covid/pneumonia/co-morbidoties) but we should be pretty darn sure what date a death should be assigned. Like, immediately.
Maybe we can all chip in and get ALDPH a calendar.
Check out Yellow Creek Falls just outside Centre. It's in Leesburg heading towards Gadsden, not too far off Hwy 411. Pretty awesome hiking up in there along Yellow Creek to the falls, and beautiful country. It doesn't cost a nickle. Just stop at the Yellow Creek Fishcamp and they will tell you how to get to the trail head.
Here's a Google Maps link to the location.
Noccalula Falls in Gadsden is also pretty awesome. There is a fee to enter the park, but you can hike down into Black Creek Canyon back behind the falls, and is also some pretty rugged terrain.
You can check here... it links to several AL groups, https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=204052311148487671348.000455dd6a63eab6e80fc&ll=46.164614,-117.696533&spn=5.646074,14.27124&z=7

Wayne Flynt has authored some very informative books. I'd start with these:
https://www.amazon.com/Alabama-Twentieth-Century-Modern-South/dp/081735266X
if nobody gets it here, reach out to Jim Lacefield -- he wrote the book on AL rocks and lives about 30min from where you're describing.
This spray is great too. It's a powder and not a liquid. If you spray it around the outside of your doors and windows, it's good at preventing them from coming inside.

How do you feel about libertarian socialism? Everyone is everyone else's responsibility, not the ineffectual government's? Otherwise, you get: https://www.amazon.com/Libertarian-Walks-Into-Bear-Liberate/dp/1541788516
My go-to is the Walls of Jericho: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/alabama/walls-of-jericho-trail
It's basically in TN but it's a great trail, can be quite difficult if you're new to hiking but it's worth it. Could be a day trip if you pack light, I usually go down and stay a night at the campground, makes it easier to swim at the (freezing) swimming hole at the end!
Summarizing his novel as "about a boy and a colony of ants" does a real disservice to Anthill.
It's a rich mixture of Alabama political and legal culture, fundamentalism, a boy's fierce love of nature, and, yes, ants. Highly recommended.
Foster Dickson's book on the case, "Closed Ranks: The Whitehurst Case in Post-Civil Rights Montgomery," is a must-read. https://www.amazon.com/Closed-Ranks-Whitehurst-Post-Civil-Montgomery-ebook/dp/B07L37JP8D
You're welcome. According to this link (a site I'm unfamiliar with but the results look reasonable), it could be best described as "rarely failing below 77 degrees or rising above 95 degrees" (Fahrenheit). So it might be a shock to you if this site's page for Vancouver is correct. The afternoons and early evenings will be the worst but most (all?) places will have AC.

Deal's Gap (and hundreds of other great drives) in the

This is the first model we used. It's affordable enough that you can get more than one, easy to hook up yourself, reliable, and doesn't require power.
WOW...you really do not understand what Dr. King was preaching about between 1954 up til his death???
You know and understand that black supremacy and Nationalism was the core teaching of Malcolm X right??? and even today it's the basis of Louis Farrakhan and his nation of islam followers.
i suggest that you go read The Sword and the shield by Peniel Joseph.

That was my thought, and with the heat and humidity I wasn't bothering with it. But I was wondering about it being within the scope of the new ordinance. I don't mind complying. Just maybe need to get a few more of a particular style– specifically something like this. I've got some somewhere that I used while running over the winter months, but I can't find them atm.
I finally got rid of mine by using “liquid ant traps” from Amazon. It took about 2-3 weeks to work, but it finally knocked ‘me out.

This is a very well put together video for such a heavy topic! It serves as a nice, short summary of the lynching of Michael Donald. For an extended version that delves more into the characters of his death and the ensuing court case, definitely check out The Lynching by Laurence Leamer. Having read the book, it was cool that Lily was able to interview and put a face to some of the big players from the book.
this is a great book that I gave to some of my Indian friends in graduate school. It's very entertaining and also spot on (if maybe a little dated now).
I can do that with my phone too, in fact I can jump from weather radio to music too.
