Handy note: for those of us outside of radio reception range of RNZ, I've been using the TuneIn Radio app as it allows streaming of RNZ to my chromecast audio, which is plugged into the stereo. It doesn't have that slightly staticy background of broadcast radio, but otherwise it's as good.
That's just the Android TV part of the app. If you check out the description on the Play Store it even uses the term lean back when mentioning Android TV. "LISTEN ANYWHERE •TuneIn Radio is available on your Android Wear devices. •Enjoy TuneIn Radio at home with your Google Chromecast. •Lean back and listen to radio with Android TV"
Cool find :)
TuneIn Radio est une excellente appli, je l'utilise régulièrement, je peux écouter les talk shows d'Europe1 en replay et les radios du monde entier.
TuneIn is an Internet Radio program for stations around the world and Pandora is another music app like Spotify.
both have ads
TuneIn støtter Chromecast, men kildene til lyden er kanalenes egne webstreams, så ikke forvent mer enn 192kbps MP3 eller 128kbps AAC.
My favorite is TuneIn Radio:
TuneIn Radio - Music, Podcasts & Audiobooks

TuneIn Radio Pro - Live Radio

TuneIn Radio. It's amazing if you want to listen to your favourite radio stations - regardless if it's on the internet, or out there on the airwaves! Hell, you can listen to radio stations across the globe, if you felt like it!
It certainly seems so, yes. Also, TuneIn's website and their associated Android app have a much less sleezy feel to them and I've had no problem getting any BBC content I wanted. Although bear in mind I'm listening to their music shows, and haven't tried listening to any sport(s) broadcasts to know if they are treated differently.
>it's as simple as downloading a free police scanner app for your smartphone
You don't even need that. TuneIn Radio can access a breathtaking number of radio stations, podcasts and other content and that includes police scanners. And it's free.

My reply to this post applies to fm radio as well. Alternatively, app like Tunein Radio allows you to stream and control radio within AA ui.
What about TuneIn radio? It's free and you should be able to pick up whatever station you need.
via TuneIn:
via FM radio:
Have you tried the TuneIn App? You can sign up for the free premium trial and listen to the game for free, and just cancel before the trial is over to avoid being charged. Just set up a reminder on your calendar app to cancel a day before being charged.
For Android people, TuneIn Radio plays many, if not all, CBC podcasts as well as a zillion other things. The best way to find them is to know the program title you want and use Search to find it.

The show that it's premiering on is in the list of that app (I downloaded it to see) but I don't know if it's live.. I think it's released after the whole segment has aired.
The benefit with that at least is you can listen whenever you want until the single is on iTunes
I've been doing this since last season. I live in Los Angeles and there's no discussion on the Raiders. You can download the tunein app on android and save 95.7 The Game radio station on the app. I usually stream the station on my train ride to work. I love to hear fan reactions to a win or lost. Plus, the morning crew, Chad, Joe & Lo analysis of the Raider game is very informative.
if that doesnt work for some reason you can d/l
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tunein.player&hl=en
then you can do their 7 day trial for free and listen to the game there.
go bills!
I listen not to audio-books, but to radio.
I use this app. TuneIn Radio.
And my favorite radio are: WNYC Radio & World - BBC News.
The app has a "Set Sleep Timer", i turns off the app!
Try this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tunein.player To get WiFi to work in airplane mode all you have to do is turn WiFi back on after switching on airplane mode (because airplane mode shuts it off automatically). I just tried it on my moto g and it works good.
I can do that with my phone too, in fact I can jump from weather radio to music too.

In the app, within Portugal you can also search by Genre and Popularity. I think most people tune in Antena 3, Rádio Comercial, and Mega Hits.
You can listen to Antena 3 on RTP Play also:

TuneIn Radio works great.
I use the app tuneFM to specifically listen to Forschung aktuell, a regular series on the radio station Deutschlandfunk about scientific news. But they also have shows about business, social and political news, for example.

I have a motorolla e and it has one. Or you can use the tunein app and listen to local and stations around the world.
An app called TuneIn. I never opened it but it was using so much background battery. It's a global radio app.
TuneIn works great for me, liked it better than the iheartradio one.

Station is also on the TuneIn Radio app ~~- not sure if you need a subscription or the premium version of the app. Looks like it has chromecast support but again, not sure if you need premium.~~
Edit: Can confirm the free / non-subscription app has the station and chromecast support, but lag a few minutes behind the official WGR app.

Try Tune In? I wanna say it supports radio stations that have an web browser based radio station, I could be totally wrong. Most of the stations do work with this app. It supports AM/FM and a whole bunch of stations that are internet based, news and more.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tunein.player (Google Play Store)
I use THIS app.
Just search in the app for your local city / town
