For anyone who doesn't need this level of protection or only needs it temporarily as protection against scratching or scuffing I bought a couple of Under Armour wrist sweat bands which do a great job and don't look out of place. I keep one in my pocket book for when I might need it.

Apple needs to release just the "hockey puck" part of the charger, like this, but with a female Lightning port, and a keychain with a male Lightning shaped jack that has side pins to keep the puck from falling out, similar to the old 30-pin connectors.

Everyone who uses an Apple Watch has to be using an iPhone, so why not make an Apple Watch charger with a female Lightning port, or even a male connector like the Apple Pencil, so that the Apple Watch can charge from the iPhone?

Naw. The purchased one is cheaper and it's made of TPU so it's soft and flexible.

I printed on in PLA and was always worried that it would scratch something.

Plus I have to say that there are better stands - the watch sometimes doesn't connect with the magnet.

This Spigen stand gives a much more reliable connection to the charger and it's only $8.

I sent in feed back (https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html) about the change in feature. I never had battery life issues with 1.0, and am rather disappointed with the change. Really hard to get a valid record of heart rate if it only records the resting heart rate.

Mind that this is US Amazon… And the price has gone up to $14… I got it on an Amazon lightning deal for less than $10. I used it on a short weekend get away and will have it over the holidays for a couple of weeks… You use it with your USB charger so basically this is just a USB magnetic link for your watch to any charger of your choice. It charges very very slow mind you, but I almost prefer that because it will still be charged overnight and that way it does not overheat as I’ve heard some third-party models will.

I got this one about a week ago and it worked well for me. I had a lightning charger one for years before and it was metal so I assumed this one would be but it’s unfortunately plastic. I should have done research and I would have gotten the one by “Sokos” on amazon because it’s aluminum and $17 more probably would have been worth it. But I can’t speak for the Sokos one since I don’t have it. The Conido one linked above uses a USB-C for power to the wireless charging and came with a lightning for the AirPods, you must supply your own watch charger. The Qi is adjustable for the different phone sizes and charges in portrait and landscape. This is my first wireless charger so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it does seem to be slower than lightning which is fine for me because I only charge over night.

I'd like to think we (as humans) will be able to use the computational power we have to do something more important than find new ways to incite ad clicks. There are a lot of people who come from interesting backgrounds and that have a lot of money funding work on extending the human life.

One of these people is Peter Thiel, in his book Zero to One he has some interesting discussion on the reasons we die. He breaks it into the macro (world/society level events), micro (local car accident) and microscopic (cancer + other hard stuff). If you cure micro theory is most people could live about 2000 years before some other cause eventually catches up.

I'm not saying any of this will work but it's more likely than stumbling around in the woods looking for some fountain.

No one of those is a 42mm while the other is a 38mm. They've been scaled to look like they are the same size which is why it looks weird.

This happened to me, though I caught the watch. A screw fell out and the lug came off. Now I tighten the screws once a week. You can also try using loctite, but I’d still get in the habit of checking them.

So I know this won't be for everyone but browsing amazon I came across this and figured it'd work great for me. Exactly what u/rajrdajr said, without a developer account ($100 a year) you can still sideload apps but they expire rather quickly. You're going to want to use AltServer (https://altstore.io/) if you'd like to keep sideloaded apps for longer, but I'm not sure if it works for Apple Watch apps?

I too was a lucky individual in that one evening as I reached and pulled to take it off, the one end let loose similar to the picture above. Mine fell onto a bed and then the carpet so no harm was done. I also inspected mine regularly and didn't notice the band looking especially weak, so yes please be careful.

The red dot has started to grow on me maybe a little bit but I’d still prefer it wasn’t there on my SSSB S3. I bought this Optima Band Organizer off Amazon after another poster on here showed theirs off. At first I thought I had just enough bands to fill it, when I realized that it had a whole other side hidden behind a separator panel!

I found Moko lugs in space gray on amazon here which comes with a pentalobe screwdriver. It works well enough for the Moko lugs but caution! They will strip the threading on the Apple connector screws. This happened to me so I swapped out the band at Apple. Having learned my lesson, I took it to a watch repair place but that didn’t work either because they wouldn’t touch it as they didn’t have the [proprietary?] Apple pentalobe screwdriver. In a last ditch effort, I went back to the Apple store and explained that I felt the clashing of the connector and watch case is a dealbreaker for me purchasing a product made premium due to its attention to detail. I reached the right person who went in the back to perform surgery on the band and came back with the connectors removed. I then came home and attached the darkened lugs on the Ceramic case.

Still, the effect is less than perfect as it is not a match. Also the leather is nice but not a perfect match on the Ceramic gray, which is an admittedly difficult watch to match bands for. It is a beautiful case and beautiful material, but I am resigned to admit that the band it comes with is the nicest it pairs with: a premium upscale-feeing version of apple’s most basic band, The gray sport band.

I ordered this band on Amazon about two weeks ago specifically because it was the only listing that said its 38/40mm version was the same length as the official Apple bands. I compared it to the sports loop that came with my watch and it's the exact same size.

It scuffed on the magnetic clasp after about a week, but other than that it's been great. Never come undone on accident or anything and I've worn it daily, both to bed and under sweaters that rub against it. It was $7 when I got it (looks like price went up a couple bucks) but it seems well put together and worth the money. It seems to be 90% the quality for 6% the price.

I have a fairly significant hearing loss and depend on hearing aids. Regular alarm clocks haven't worked for me for decades. You slip the hockey puck (The Rumbler) under your side of the mattress and the powerful vibrations really resonate through the mattress. Wakes me up easily. I leave the beep beep on silent and only use the rumbler.

But yes completely agree with you, my Watch has been a game changer for an on-body alarm.

It's one of the more popular Android Wear apps, and I don't know of an equivalent for Apple Watch so far, so I think there's an unfulfilled need. Pre-configuring really common actions seems like an ideal use-case for a device like the Watch.

Do not go with the silver clashing with the grey, that looks awful! I had a sgs one myself and I wanted more options so I traded in for the AWS, which still looked kinda cheap to me for formal events. I ended up splurging big time for the SS (even though I'm not made of mine) I have zero regrets and it looks amazing and formal with the Milanese loop. I figure that if V2 is a big enough upgrade then I'll sell this at a loss and use that money to fund for a good portion of V2.

Ever since having a Pebble I have always put a gadgetwrap on mine.

When I bought my Apple Watch last week I went straight to Amazon and bought an Armorsuit for it. They are JUST like the Gadgetwrap but it folds over the screen! I hate the ones that just cover the front of the screen and when you swipe with your fingers you feel the corners and such. This one wraps over the edges so you don't get that and I LOVE it! Very cheap to for a 2 pack with lifetime warranty.

You don't want the Spigen one. They are not the manufacturer. All they do is slap a logo on it and charge twice as much as other sellers.

These are pumped out from a supplier in China for less than $3/piece to multiple different sellers. All Spigen did was slap a logo on it. There are much better stands coming out. Not worth the $20 because once more and more sellers begin selling this exact same stand on Amazon I see the price quickly dropping to close to $10 - as it already is by OMOTON and also offered in gold.
