There is a PC game called Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven that was released back in the 2002/03 era. It is very much a product of its time (think GTAIII, Max Payne) but the aesthetic and atmosphere are, arguably, the closest to that of Boardwalk Empire in the limited range of historical 1920s/30s organised-crime videogames. It is a third-person action/driving/shooting game, set in a fictional city that is an amalgamation of NYC/Chicago/Philadelphia. The cars and firearms and game mechanics are very much in keeping with the Prohibition era theme. The soundtrack is a mix of real jazz pieces and orchestral score.

I think the term "Bohunk" was just broader in general use than you think. Here's a book from 1906 that notes that the term "Bohunk" refers to immigrants from Russia, Greece, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Hungary. Here's another source from 1918 where the term is specifically applied to workers from Poland.
Here's another, that shows the certificate along with the spool of fishing line with instructions: http://tinypic.com/r/r8ffiv/8

Well the whole show is also based on a book called "Boardwalk Empire", although I have not read it. All the characters real lives are portrayed. Could be good to compare to the show.

There is no better book on the subject out there.
Thanks for replying. Love to talk about this stuff with guys who know the history like you. I meant Lucky was weary of him only in those earlier years like mid 20s. After that they were pretty golden. Of course, since Lucky okay'd millions for him to handle for the flamingo. And yes, my source is from a frank costello biography book. Frank Costello, prime minister of the underworld is the title.
