I have the exact same year and color and similarly have had to dog proof mine! In addition to floor and trunk liners, I bought this for my pup to stay in the back seat. I don’t have humans in the back seat that often, so it may not be ideal if you do, but it works well for me.
Since this is a thing. Let's discuss this further so more people can do it.
Which Bulbs did you use!? Personally I Highly recommend the Sylvania ZEVO series for interior. The light is better made, the output is very bright and it won't burn out in less than a year. If you get the cheap kits from Amazon. Please know they may NOT last. I had to change a couple in less than a year.
i could not find a phone mount that was quality and could be placed in somewhere that's easily accessible but doesn't cover the vents or infotainment screen. luckily they make phone mounts specifically for these CX-5's. I got this one on amazon and it clips in and fits perfectly, was actually surprised how clever it is. the only thing i don't like about it is that the side holders are higher than most other phone mounts, which means on most phones, you'll have to pull the phone up to use any physical buttons on your phone (like when i forget to turn the BT volume up). other than that, it's pretty damn sweet. there are other similar models too, i just got the one that had the most and highest ratings
edit: this is where it snaps into place
This adapter let's you power it via the rearview mirror. It takes less than five minutes. No additional wiring or worrying about fuse boxes.
I ended up getting some new trim pieces off of Amazon that cover this area nicely. It uses 3M tape that goes over the original piece.

There are a bunch of different finishes out there but this is just 1 example
Been using Anker Powerline II cable for a little over 2 years. Has survived NJ winter and summer in the car with no issues. Cable does feel very sturdy, and currently using it with an iPhone 12.
My favorite other accessories are the rubber cargo tray, retractable cargo cover, front and rear splash guards, folding sun shade for the windshield, and roof rails. I also got this handy little tray for the center console that makes it way more useful: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L2VJ8XM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. And for $50, I got the navigation SD card that Mazda charges $400 for, and it enables other features besides navigation, like traffic sign recognition and the cool indicator of the speed limit on the speedometer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FXNNPLW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I got this kit from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/BRISHINE-Interior-Package-License-Install/dp/B08F4R31SX/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=9LA7APIXUK2S&dchild=1&keywords=cx5+led+interior+lights&qid=1632018836&sprefix=cx5+le&sr=8-3
It came with a plastic pry tool, it worked well until it was time to do the vanity mirror lights. A small flat head screw driver worked a lot better to remove the vanity light cover.
These are the bulbs I used: BRISHINE White Interior LED Lights Kit for Mazda CX-5 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 Super Bright 6000K LED Interior Light Bulbs Package + License Plate Lights and Install Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F4R31SX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_A1JKS3A9SZHY3G1S8JF8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Based on recommendations from other redditers, these are what I went with. Since I just installed them, I cannot speak to their longevity; however, since the install was super easy, I’m happy to replace if needed.
Thanks for your input!
I use one of these - pretty handy piece of kit. Holds tight on the carpet and on the trunk protector. Reusable grocery bags fit the compartments nicely, the cooler is pretty handy on road trips - and it accordions and clips into a pretty compact package if you don't need it. 10/10 would recommend.
Mine is the CarlinKit 2.0 Wireless CarPlay dongle. The instructions that came with it weren’t great.. but there is a review on Amazon (by robaroo) that goes thru what to do specifically for a 2021 Mazda. Followed that without issue, and it’s given me no trouble.
I did the same (with Viofo A129+) and here’s the adapter I got:
SimpleUSBPort Mirror to Dashcam Adapter (10-pin Type A)
A little pricey imo, but no issues so far (got it back during the winter, both mirror and dashcam get enough power) and it’s just about the cleanest, simplest install I found in my research.
1) yes it does. I can’t speak for ‘21 but my ‘18 has TPMS. However it doesn’t tell you which tire or what pressure it is at.
2) I can’t help here 3) you’re fine to drive. Just don’t smash the go fast pedal. 4) loaded question lol. I have Tuxmat floor mats front to cargo. I also have weathertech rain guards, the retractable cargo cover and these two items:
HIGH FLYING Car Center Armrest... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L2VJ8XM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
BEHAVE Car Armrest Cover Saver,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HFZ8FP8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Edit: the floor mats are my favorite by far. The only other “must have” in my opinion is the cargo cover unless you can’t tint your windows darker.
Or something like this. There are nicer Mazda branded ones somewhere too. I heard in Laos they are very popular for normal occupants...
Love my trunk liner, cargo cover, front mats and trunk organizer.
Trunk liner gives me peace of mind when carting around liquids and such. The cargo cover also gives peace of mind, hiding any valuables in the trunk. The front mats are amazing and I leave them in year-round. All three of these are OEM.
My trunk organizer is Rola from Amazon and I love it because it folds almost flat and I actually slip it under the trunk liner when I need the space.
I have white leather seats in mine and blue jean stains came out just fine with a leather cleaner I ordered from amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JIIZCM6/
You mentioned leatherette, leather and vinyl in your post. Make sure you know which it is and get an appropriate cleaner.
If you place your key in a ball of chickenwire it wont work. If you can easily pull the battery it wont work. Making a car with just a start button and an electronic fob wont work.
Here you go amazon has faraday key fob pouches;
The hardest part was the firmware upgrade. The installation of the hardware was easy. You can find the kits on Amazon now for about $165.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WK1SZRZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These are the ones I got, I prefer the black look over the chrome. Took me about 45 minutes to install myself.
I use 303 Interior and Exterior Protectant with a microfiber cloth.
It around $13 for 16 ounces, so it is a bit expensive.
With that being said, it seems to be the best at cleaning these types of surfaces.
I got a set from Amazon. BMTxms 9X White Canbus Led Car Interior Lights Package Kit for 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 Mazda CX-5 CX5 Led Interior Lights (for Mazda CX-5, white) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZH1S66Z/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_S24TQJ45FNSX1C1JM7SR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Came with all the lights and extras. And everything was labeled.
To OP and anyone else with a turbo'd cx5: premium doesn't give you better mileage, and if you have a super light foot, you're getting no real benefit from the additional cost of the fuel. It doesn't run any cleaner than regular, and the performance benefit of only manifests itself after 4k rpm. BTW, it took me until about 3k miles to reach 24mpg in my 2019 signature, and that was with about 60% highway driving.
Also, breaking in the engine should yield better mileage, not worse. If you keep driving the way you are, it'll slowly tick up to 23-24 range.
As for wireless carplay, there's dongles you can use to give yourself that functionality. I have an android phone myself, but this item was reviewed pretty favorably on this sub a few weeks ago.
They sell metal covers with double-sided tape on Amazon to cover up the piano black plastic in the center console.

Never used it but saw a recent post for something similar to this

I just got these from Amazon for my 2015 and they're exactly what I wanted at about half the price of WeatherTech.
I was looking to get a cargo cover as well to hide my golf clubs. I almost pulled the trigger on the OEM one but decided to go cheap and get this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D26RJNS/
It was just delivered but I'll let you know how it works out. If it's bad I'll just ship it back to Amazon.
I like mine, but in the back you can’t really mount them correctly, I had to mount them on the rails of the driver and passenger seats and not directly in the center of the seat like they should be. Other than that, I really enjoy them! I bought these ones exactly: Govee Interior Car Lights, Car... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6CPQK4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I had some bendy bits in my husky mats during installation as well. But they started fitting perfectly after about a week. Just make sure everything is lined up and the clippy bits are lined up with the pointy bits on the floor. Stomp it down and make sure its all where its supposed to be. Come back a week later to perfectly fits
I got this one. Dunno if its the same one as yours but I'd say give it about a week, if its still that curvy, ask for a new set
Keep out the bugs when the window is down. All the air and no bites. [not sure if this is the exact one but it’s basically this ](www.amazon.com/dp/B00YI3IGA6/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_i_pIYtFbGVNVK4Z)

Fellow Texan here (Houston)... the rearview adapter gave me problems. Not sure if it was the heat or the adapter itself but I ended up running an add-on adapter cable under the headliner (just tucked it right in), down the A-pillar, and then down into the fuse box under the drivers side dash.
Used a fuse tap and plugged into an accessory fuse that wasn't being used. I have a radar detector and dash cam running off the same tap and haven't had any issues. Going on four years now.
I bought two sets that were advertised as compatible but that absolutely were not. Here’s what I ended up with…not fancy, but quite functional and quiet so far. The tab design is exceptionally easy to install. And, most importantly, they FIT.
Why Not use the same stuff they use for your Windshield? It's called Butyl. I think this will be your best bet. It's high temperature resistant and sticks strong on glass. Iike I said your Windshield is attached with this stuff!
You don't need a kit. Aside from the license plate bulbs, They are all this bulb: DE3175 Led Car Bulb, 31mm 1.22in 3175 Festoon Led Car Lights Bulb, Super bright white DE3021 DE3022 Led Car Bulb Fit for Interior Map Door Dome lights, Pack of 6pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L9WS1TL/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_49BQ3467BZ6WRZGYQ1YV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
1 set is enough
Super easy instal! The license plate housing is tricky though I will say. Had to use a small flathead to pry it off since the tool provided wasn’t quite sturdy enough!
I bought a black steering wheel logo cover to reduce the bright reflection of the OE. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-steering-wheel-emblem-logo-badge-for-2-3-6-CX3-CX5-CX9-4-Colors-avail/324699463487
I also bought a dual USB / Voltage meter for the area in front of the gear selector. This makes it easier to access a USB charging port without digging in the armrest. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JA627KU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought this one - Amazon has quite a few to choose from.
I have a 2018 and I bought black side rails on ebay for $179 and the knock off stock cross bars on Amazon for $100. I've carried a fully loaded Yakima Skybox on the roof for thousands of miles on road trips with zero issues.
Cross Bars: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMVYN8S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The side rails are no longer active on ebay, but I'm sure if you search you'll find a bunch.
Happy to help as I learned and got some links from this group. Though you can order from many Mazda dealer parts site, I ordered from Amazon because this seller is also a Mazda dealer, arrived on time and the packaging was too good for a small part. The product was genuine.
The red trim just came in stock two days back. It has 17 pieces to protect other areas. I found this from one of the post here. This is the link
Novus plastic polish may work on the lens as well, just be careful.
I use [these organizers](https://www.amazon.com/Drive-Auto-Products-Organizer-Storage/dp/B071F82CYJ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1] Two in the back-back and one in the backseat (or passenger seat when people take a break from mooching rides off me). They have adjustable straps that attach to the anchor points in the back, or wrap around the bucket seats. They also collapse fully or to half-size, and can connect to each other. They were a big hit with the deliverers when I was doing curbside grocery pick up and I love them for takeout to keep the car clean.
I don't know if you will fit comfortably, might need to go diagonal or bent knees. But the level thing is not a problem for me. I think they are talking about your head being a little higher than your feet as back seats when folded will create a slight angle. I put these mats under soft blanket to get some extra cushion for elbows and knees. I wish I got the slightly bigger though. Aslo these curtains work great although they do look a bit weird. I got a second set for the back of the car and it works. They hang straight down, while the back of the car curves out... leaving part of the legs visible but they are the only ones I could find that 100% not see-through from outside.
Bitch route? LOL...
This is the one I got, but I have a 2016.5. You'd need to check the Curt PNs to see which one you need. The chassis changed in 2017, so if you have a newer model, you probably need a different one than what I got.
I tried installing it just the way you did it. But my antenna is shorter and when I analyzed using VNA kit, I got very high SWR. It was because the antenna is very close to the metal body of the car trunk.

So I had to move the lip mount to the plastic portion of the trunk just next to the brake lights.

Do you have a VNA kit? What's your SWR on your setup? u/DrewWith2DoubleYewz

I have a hundred pounds Rhodesian, and prefer her in the backseat.
https://www.amazon.ca/PetTech-Luxury-Seat-Cover-Hammock/dp/B07CJ4Q25G
I purchased these two items - and they work well together. Lots of comfortable room for her, and no worries about damage to the interior.
I see a lot of folks driving around with lap dogs between themselves and the steering wheel, or perched on the passenger seat - which has always seems pretty short sighted, to me.
Even a low speed impact will fire the air bags, and that 15lb dog is guaranteed to be injured, as will the driver be when it's compressed into their chest.
Where dogs are concerned - back seat is best seat - and wearing a harness clipped into a belt so they don't become a projectile.

Dont forget to replace the crush washer behind the drain plug too. You will want to use a brand new one on every change. These are the ones I use.
I have a 2014 sport and the seats are garbage. I am a tall and large guy and the seats are simply not designed for big guys. I bought a seat lumbar from amazon and now it's just perfect: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5D3LAA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_S16Y96FN762Q0EA4VW0K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I had the same issue. I bought this set: Wheel Woolies. 3 sizes, strong plastic handles with no exposed metal anywhere that might scratch. They will shed a little during the first few uses. Appear to be holding up just fine after the initial shed. I also have a smaller detail brush set. One I use for wheels (and front grill) and the other 2 are dedicated to the interior. This is an inexpensive set that has even more options: Detail Brush Set.

I bought 2 of these, trunk organizers, super easy to pack and easier to pull things in and out of the vehicle because of the handles.. also great for grocery shopping as well haha

This holder and a long usb charger cable hidden under the console.
Get seat liners from Amazon if you don't have them, for the back seat. They are a life saver.
You don't have to get this one specifically, there's tons to choose from, but here's an example: ----
https://www.amazon.com/BELLABAILEY-Waterproof-Removable-Machine-Washable/dp/B07YB1M6GB
And if your pups like to lean on your doors and stick their head out of the window, these will protect your rear doors: ----
https://www.amazon.com/eJiasu-Protector-Vehicles-Pockets-Waterproof/dp/B077XT45TG
Again, many to choose from, this is just an example. Whichever you choose, Check the size if it's shown on the product and make sure it will cover the doors properly.
Also don't leave these in the windows all the time. I put them in the window slots when needed, otherwise I keep them out.
These 2 types of products combined are a must have when you have dogs, IMO

Amazon double din stereo. You’ll have lots of options.
When I installed Carplay, I put a USB right below the 12v lighter thinking I would plug my phone in there. I just don't like a cord wrapped up there, so I still plug it into the console one. This is what I ordered. If I recall, the cord was long enough to be routed with the carplay wiring. All I really had to do was cut out a hole for this under the lighter.

I recently purchased this. Got it for $50 with a promo code. So far it works great. Would recommend if you can find it on sale.
Two issues I've encountered are the placement of the power socket under the arm rest and the fact that the socket continues to produce power while the car is turned off. The socket is far away from the windshield so until I can figure out a cable management solution it's going to look somewhat ugly with cables running down the center console. This particular camera has the ability to turn on/off when the car is turned on/off (while plugged in), so with constant power this feature is useless. The camera does have a rechargeable battery though so i'll just have to keep it charged as best as possible.
There's also a parking feature that allows the camera to use motion detection while you're parked. I've only had it for a few days but it's pretty solid. The only thing I'm concerned about is the Texas heat. If I were to leave it mounted in direct sunlight I don't think it survive.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
These fit the 2023 interior (map lights, rear dome lights, and trunk light). I think the 2023 has LED license plate lights, so you really only need the interior. That kinda makes the kits not necessary. These are bright and come with 1yr warranty.

I've been using https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BFDSZTX6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and so far no issues.
Whether or not it clicks shouldn't be an issue. If it is not sealed you will get a check engine code for evap system leak.
Count yourself lucky if you get a check engine light and the fix is a $20 gas cap. If the check engine light doesn't come on I wouldn't worry.
Everyone should also have an ODB2 scanner: https://www.amazon.com/Kitbest-Bluetooth-Scanner-Adapter-Diagnostic/dp/B01BY2CK32/ref=sr_1_6?crid=29CSMGLV70JVF&keywords=bluetooth+odb2+scanner&qid=1670941195&sprefix=bluetooth+odb2+scann%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-6
The bluetooth ones are like $12 and can read and clear check engine codes.
This holder seems to work great for me.

This was the one I ordered. Sorry if the link looks weird I’m pasting it straight from the share link in the app. ANFOKAS 2pcs for Mazda CX-5 2023... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PDFTPPY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It was the cheapest one I could find and comes with both parts. It was at a price point where if I didn’t like it and couldn’t return it or forgot to return it then the lost $$ wouldn’t bother me.
Ha, okay I just ordered Max's front set only for my '23 (I will probably never have rear seat passengers for as long as I have the car. Besides, the lame Mazda "All Weathers" are back there and they will suffice).
Getting the Max's from Amazon for about $93, even though the heading says they fit 2017-2021. But I entered my car as a '22 and it says they will fit.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but if you are planning to get a dashcam, it makes wiring it SO MUCH EASIER because of the built in power. Especially if you just buy this adapter to run a small cable to it.
>Maybe this one?
I like that it allows access to the seat belt buckles if someone needs
to sit back there. Plus honestly maybe *not* extending the bench forward
will keep him from trying to climb up between the front seats and keep
him in sleepy mode.
Was referring to this one. It doesnt have the thickness at the bottom though. But what i like about it is that its quick to remove if i need to take the car for cleaning etc. Or if i want to use half the backrow seats i can easily just unhook it from one of the headrests and fold it over. They do tend to be floppy though so its not getting any points there but i like the convenience factor. It does come with a plastic bit that you can push in between the seat cushions to hold it in place tighter so it wont slide around even if my dog rolls around in there.
I got SuperiorTek 5.0 (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0BFDSZTX6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and no complaints. It connects fast and works smooth.
Have bothe versions 3.0 and 4.0 and different cars 2022 and 2023; works great; fyi 4.0 works with both Apple and Android

I installed an aftermarket set from Amazon on my winter rims for a 2018. It has been over two years and they readily synced to the vehicle from the start. No issues as of yet :)
