That's rough. I'm praying for you.
I feel in my heart that everything can't have come from nothing. Evolution can't explain where the building blocks came from or why matter exists at all, which I personally think is a bigger and more interesting issue than how organisms developed. There are also the very important questions of meaning, etc., which humanity has been wrestling with since long before humans were interested in science, and which evolution can't give a satisfactory answer to.
I'm not Catholic, but I really liked the first full chapter of <em>Would You Baptize an Extraterrestrial?: . . . and Other Questions from the Astronomers' In-box at the Vatican</em>. I think most or all of that chapter is in the "look inside" on Amazon, at least in the US. But basically, it references that an impressionist or pointillist painting is a perfectly legitimate way to portray a scene, even though it's not the same as a photograph. I believe they argued that the Bible was never intended to be a science textbook, but was written to people who wouldn't have understood a scientific explanation. The authors also mention that science textbooks go out of date regularly, but the Bible stays the same. It's an interesting way to think about the situation that I hadn't quite considered before.
Speaking as a pastor: there's only ONE in the Audience, and HE already thinks your voice is wonderful, so you don't need to get "better". Just make music in your heart, and that's just fine by the Lord.
Speaking as a musician: making music with your voice is a matter of muscle memory. You learn what a particular note feels like, so that you can hit it consistently. And to learn THAT skill takes practice.
This might sound like an odd suggestion, but there are karaoke games that detect pitch as you sing, so that you can learn what middle C feels like. This will help you train your voice.
You might want to try a program like GNU Solfege, to help train your ear and voice: https://sourceforge.net/projects/solfege
Nothing can replace active reading, but if you like audiobooks there are some really great “dramatized” audio versions of the Bible.
These two are my favorite recordings - I will just listen to these and just fill my ears with the Word. There are audio samples of each below the title image.

OP I think you're in more company then you realize. Personally, I have to come to believe in the historicity of Adam, because Jesus said so. How did Adam come about? Theistic evolution? I can be OK with the mystery and also the knowledge that one day I will know fully. (1 Cor 13:12). What about macro versus micro evolution? The 250,000 different variations of beetles in existence certainly lends itself to at least microevolution.
But, I wasn't saved by a belief in a literal creation account. I was saved by faith in Jesus. My house is built on the one and only Rock. Anyone who enforces belief or demands adherence to a literal creation account is not operating with the same graciousness and grace that God bestows upon our dusty frame. We should extend reasonableness to most other people, because I'm still waiting for the man with perfect theology. I can be as Job and know these things are too wonderful for me to know (Job 42).
All that said, here are two book recommendations that were helpful to me :
https://www.amazon.ca/Fool-Heretic-Scientists-Christian-Evolution/dp/0310595436

It sounds like you are doing all the right things - have you read the Bible? I would at least try to read all of the NT - find a translation that is comfortable for you. For easy reading, when I just want to soak in the text, I dont want to think about what everything little thing means, I like the NLT or CEV
There is a dramatized NLT that I like to just listen to as well. The Bible hits differently reading vs hearing it. Not better or worse, just different pathways.
https://www.amazon.com/Breathe-Bible-New-Testament-NLT-audiobook/dp/B07LC1127S/
It takes time - we have to be deliberate - I would write down a strategy plan - or write down short term, well defined, achievable goals - like the ones youve listed but keep to them and add to them
Think about who you want to be, what are they like? What do they do? What character traits do they have? what you want your relationship with God to be like? and start writing down short term, 6 month to 2 year goals to be this person and have this relationship
Its bumpy, we win some, we lose some, but over time, seeing measurable progress, checking boxes, even small boxes, gives us the will and the determination to keep going, keeps us focused because the world wants us to forget and every day tries to pull us away from God
Hi there! You are so right - all of our relationships with God are unique and that's what's so special! I think we all go through seasons where God feels distant, so you are not alone or doing anything wrong. I'd love to share some ways that I have found joy in reading the Bible. I used to get bored too.
One piece of advice that helped me at first came from my mentor. She told me she would read scripture back to God. Ex: Try reading those Psalms aloud to God. If God says He'll be your rock and refuge - ask him to be!
Another helpful thing is having a daily devotional. I really like New Morning Mercies. Looks like its about $15 on Amazon, and cheaper at other places! I highly recommend it as an easy daily starting point to lead your spiritual life and relationship with God! https://www.amazon.com/New-Morning-Mercies-Gospel-Devotional/dp/1433541386
I'm also super into just worshipping while I get ready in the morning or drive in the car. If you're looking for an easy way to memorize scripture, a band called Shane & Shane usually turn Scripture into songs. So if you memorize a song... you're memorizing scripture! How cool!
You can't mess up trying to worship Him. So keep trying to figure out what works for you! He loves when his sons and daughters want to connect, and He will meet you right where you're at! Praying for you :)
I'd give this book a 5 star rating. It has helped me tremendously with anxiety issues. It hits primarily on the anxiety component and not depression, so if you're looking for a resource just on the anxiety piece, this is good:

Getting your history from a college dropout on YouTube is probably not a good idea.
Perhaps if people are interested in the topic, they would be better off taking one of The Great Courses: https://www.thegreatcourses.com/courses/era-of-the-crusades.html
I always slow fade when I make Bible reading a habit. It can be hard to have that discipline. Right now I’m reading The Purpose Driven Life along with my Bible reading. The book is marked by days and not chapters so as I read a day I read a chapter of the Bible to go with it.
It’s really helped me stay focused so maybe it’ll help you! Here’s a link to the book
Audio Bible on my phone changed my life - I can listen any where, I fall asleep to it
I still read of course but I dont always feel like reading and listening is another learning pathway, we remember different things listening vs reading
These are my favs - not because of translations but the production / sound quality

Sometimes it just happens that , many small unresolved things/foxes keep getting added up. One of my friends wife bottled up things for long time & finally got up and left. It was too late for doing anything. Some men & women goes through buyers remorse / mid life crisis.
“Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming! Young Woman” Song Of Solomon 2:15
There is a saying that in healthy marriage there are lot of disagreements, but they talk it out before going to bed . “Joyce Mayer” I think said about her husband, that they do have intense moments of fellowships - “arguments”. When one spouse is always saying like, whatever you say, they have given up.
Ephesians 4:26 “And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry”
As long as it’s not abusive, give your best shot. Physical separation sometimes helps love. You both can try reading a book “five love languages “ . I used to tell my mom to divorce dad & that he will never change, he was abusive & alcoholic. Now I am glad that she didn’t, although they both stayed apart for many months/years at times.
Having eternal perspective is so important. Will pray for your family, you will overcome👍🏻🙏
Your argument is that Christians disagree therefore it is false? You're disagreeing with me. Does that make both our arguments false?
Flat Earth? There are a lot of people who can't agree on the shape of the earth, does that mean both sides are wrong?
Christians disagreeing on interpretation is not evidence of flawed text.
As for archaeology, theres a ridiculous million metric tons of evidence that supports the Bible. This book for a start: https://www.amazon.com/dp/031051939X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_KZP7M5K08KX1H2YPNFCR
Are you aware that Harvard University dug up King Ahab's house and found Queen Jezebel's eye makeup containers which are mentioned in the Bible...in the 70's! There is a glut of actual archaeology, textual analysis, and personal experience (because that's ultimately what this is about) that confirm Christianity.
"Don't blame God" is good and "The Bible you can believe it" is good too the second book is also downloadable.

With regards to eternity, given that there is no time there is no sense of it. There is no yesterday or tomorrow. So, I’d say it’s reasonable to conclude that we experience eternity as a single instance and that the joys (or joy) of Heaven are all experienced simultaneously in a single instance of what seems like one perpetual moment, thus lacking the sensation of “forever”, as we think of it relative to time.
Perhaps, in some sense, it will be like those moments when we find ourselves doing something we thoroughly enjoy to where we completely loose track of time. Take that “sense” and stretch it across eternity.
Although he doesn’t elaborate on what the experience of eternity might be like in the following video he does speak of what our bodies will be like in Heaven. It’s also a great YouTube channel, though some videos can get a little heavy at times.
The Last Things https://youtu.be/zGZl8hzBT4c
One book to consider..
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Heaven (by Philosophy prof. at Boston College, Dr Peter Kreeft) https://www.amazon.com/dp/0898702976/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WXEYNGZYV2Q8ZMAWBQJH
I’m going to recommend a book called the anxiety and phobia workbook. It’s probably the number 1 book recommended by therapists.
If the panic attacks are random, you’ll want to learn what happens to your body during a panic attack, that it can’t hurt you, and learn tools get through it. This books contains all that information.
The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook https://www.amazon.com/dp/1684034833/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DM98RGA8W85SBB2P06MX
One of the best tools is learning how to breathe correctly. Panic is brought on in a large part by hyperventilation. There are many videos on how to breathe during a panic attack on YouTube. The key is expanding your stomach when you inhale and exhaling for a longer period than you inhale.
What you're doing is catastrophically damaging for your son. Kids need their father and mother. The Bible says "God hates divorce" - do you have a pastor, can you seek counseling?
Consider reading this book:

New King James Version.
I highly recommend this Bible. I used it since I was 12 and it's been so good for me.
A really good book on this is Rocking the Roles. it goes over how 50s traditionalism is not biblical gender roles and how men should be servant leaders not lording leaders.
This reminds me of "The Story Keepers," but I only ever saw it as VHS videos (now all on YouTube). Looking it up, I see that there are book versions also.
Watch the video I tagged in my previous comment to you.
I also encourage you to buy the king James only controversy by James white. White is not anti kjv at all. I’ve even heard a sermon from his church (that he is an elder at) where his pastor used the kjv. But he does look at all the objections to modern versions, goes to different manuscripts, and looks at the translations from a Greek perspective. He even walks you through why verses are translated a certain way. The article you gave failed to do that. He shows that there is multitude of things in the kjv could have been translated more exactly. Most objections on variants in modern translation can be turned right around to the kjv in some areas. He even gives tons of sources where you can check things he is saying.
He shows that modern versions can be trusted. Obviously not all translations are good for instance the passion translation adds a ton of stuff that shouldn’t be there. But bibles like the NASB, ESV, and the NKJV can be trusted just as much as the kjv (if not more in modern times cause there are lots of words that have changed meaning since 1611 and it’s various revisions)
You can literally read the opening that was written by the kjv translators and see what they have to say about other translations and if they think there Bible translation was perfect
I’m not denying that the kjv is a good translation that God has used for hundreds of years but not all other English translations are wicked.
It has really excellent notes and Christ's words in red. I like the NKJV but I have another bible in NIV so I can compare translations if necessary (there are also apps for this!). I'm having trouble finding it in large print, however. Is that a deal breaker? If you can't find it on Amazon, check out your local Christian store. I have an excellent one nearby with a separate section for large print.
Hope this helps!
I recommend this book, "Decision-making and the Will of God." https://www.amazon.com/Decision-Making-Will-God-Alternative/dp/1590522052
The bottom line is that you don't need to look for signs. If you want to make a decision, look to the Bible first to see if it has anything to say about it. If it doesn't, then look to general Biblical principles to help guide you. If it's not a Biblical issue such as, "Should I tell a lie or should I tell the truth," then you are free to make a decision based on what you want to do, and God is sovereign over that.
I'm so sorry! I just prayed for you. I have asthma so I sympathize with you. Make sure you take Vitamin D, and if you can order quercetin, that really helps with asthma. L-Glutamine is another supplement that has proven to shorten hospital stays for Covid patients. Another thing that helps is Cordyceps mushroom and curcumin. When I had Covid, I had the mushroom powder mixed in water 3 times a day and a curcumin drink 3 times a day, and I would feel the inflammation going down. I used this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074WL37DN
If you don't think she would mind the old English style of writing, as the book was first published in the early 1400's, I would highly recommend "The Imitation of Christ". It's a classic! The following is bound in imitation leather.
https://www.amazon.com/Imitation-Christ-Zippered-Cover/dp/1618902156/
People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care. Get to know him as a person and he may open up on why he does not believe in God. If you find out what he believes research his religion. By doing that it will show that you care. Some good questions are: 1) How did you come to that conclusion? 2) What do you mean by that?(this is a good question because people use the same words in the define them differently.)
This is one of the best books to learn how to witness to people:
Those “ppl who never heard” don’t exist. There Ade few ways we know.
1) Romans says that the very creation proves ancestor and no man is without excuse just bc of that 2) multiple times the Bible says that in heaven there are ppl of EVERY tribe, nation, and tongue 3) This is a great book that describes missionaries going to untouched places only to find out they already knew the gospel. Maybe they didn’t know that Jesus was a “Jew” or certain little details but they knew sinful man, holy God, death by substitutionary sacrifice = paradise/eternal life instead of punishment/hell/judgement
What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality? for the con side.
God and the Gay Christian for the pro side.
I recommend the book, "Unpacking Forgiveness" by Chris Braun because he has an interesting perspective on this. https://www.amazon.com/Unpacking-Forgiveness-Biblical-Answers-Questions-ebook/dp/B001FA0VK8
He says that you can't extend Biblical forgiveness if the person who wronged you hasn't asked for forgiveness. That doesn't mean you hold bitterness or resentment and you're willing to extend forgiveness if they ask.
There are consequences for sin and I don't believe you need to take away the consequences. For example, if reporting to the police is something that needs to take place, you can forgive and also report so others aren't victimized as well.
You can also leave it in God's hands with Romans 12:19 in mind. "Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord."
What should you read, how should you learn? Truthfully, there are so many good options, and it doesn't really matter. But because of that, you can end up kind of overwhelmed by the options. So my recommendation is to just get an ESV Study Bible and also read Growing in Christ by JI Packer. Get plugged into a church and become part of the family.
I'm kind of in the same boat. Just got out of a 2 year relationship, picked up this book by Derek Prince, God is a Matchmaker. Only half way through in it and it's quite hopeful to say the least.
It basically boils down to : God match made Eve for Adam. He physically made her for him ! To where she probably complimented him in different ways, and gave different aspects to their lives together. Why do we not trust God to also do that for us ?
It is fine, my favorite genre is EpiC Fantasy.
Cryptid stuff is also fascinating.
On a side note, as a Christian I think you will enjoy this book. It may be off your radar since it is a little older, but it was a fantastic read dealing with bigfoot. Fiction
I would first read it cover-to-cover and just begin by knowing what it says (its broad narrative). And then go back and begin to learn systematic doctrine. The best Study bible, to me, by far is the MacArthur study bible. It will help you a lot doing both-

I am sorry that no one answered you sooner. I am ticked of at what Christianity has become over the years. It is not the Christianity that my Lord would want. Christianity is based on doing what is right and serving our Lord God. I am appalled in knowing what "Christianity" in this world means now. We as Christian should not be swayed by other people's decision. We have, for too long, let others boss us around. We let America fall so far from what it was. America was founded on Christian principles. The founding fathers knew God had something special for us. We need to be consistent. We gave in to abortion, when we knew it was murder. We gave in to ridding prayer in our schools. Our government says that they don't allow religion in schools, yet they teach evolution. I believe in a loving God that created us, and cares for us. We need a great spiritual revolution in our country. I believe in a scientific God. I believe in a God that created every atom and protein that makes us up. And I feel sorry for those who believe that all Christians are stupid hillbillies. And I feel sorry for those can't believe anything other that themselves. E.g. secular humanism.
Here's a great series by Nick Needham. Highly recommended by ton of people.
Here's a great shorter book on the matter.
Obviously the series is going to be more in-depth, but the book is a wonderful intro for a broader look. I'm working through the series myself at the moment and have read the book, so they have my recommendation
Yeah, they aren't completely up front on their methodology, that's part of the problem and they've been called out on many times. You get more insight on it if you buy one of the various books they publish on the topic. I read one of them which is how I know about this. For example, read through the Amazon reviews for this one:
American Worldview Inventory 2021-2022
That's one of the publications these publicity pieces are trying to push. You'll see that if you do read through their publications you quickly realize that what they are labeling "Biblical Worldview" is really a form of US Republican conservatism.
Here's an example from one of the reviews: >He is afraid of "wokeness" having "invaded" Christian churches. I probably shouldn't be surprised, then, that he rates Black churches very low on his scale. He refers to "the evangelical norm" (meaning the "white" evangelical norm). The full volume shows he brands any form of Social Justice as "Critical Race Theory," which he claims is "Marxism." So somehow he has conflated Republican/Libertarian economic theories with a "Biblical Worldview." I'm thinking Jesus wouldn't rate very high, either.
I'm not just making this up, I'm familiar with the organization and the work they do.
Hey there, I will gladly pray for you. I can also recommend this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.josephprince. It always provides a verse, which one can especially think about and a devotional. It's Christ-centered and it's been for me and my faith in Jesus.
I've been rereading The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, and it has challenged me in aspects of my life, such as the time, effort and money I put into collecting items such as pencils.
The Action Bible - God's redemptive story.
It's the Bible in chronological order in comic book form.
I highly recommend the app Bible Study Together
It breaks chapters down into bite-sized passages and mixes the old and new testament.
If you do one reading a day, you'll have read the Bible in 2 years.

Perfect question. I have a book called Reading while Black
that will help ease your mind. Its definitely a tough question but it opened my eyes how diverse the Bible is and how even Jesus understood corruption in the law with the roman soldiers.
It sounds like God is convicting you of sin. This is actually a good thing and it's evidence that he's working in your life. Spiritual maturity and growth take time, and we all struggle with sin. The key word is "struggle." Someone who doesn't know the Lord doesn't care. They just run at full speed into the sin and don't feel bad. But you do care and you have accepted him as your Lord and Savior.
I recommend Becket Cook's book, "A Change of Affection." He shares his testimony and then shares some good truths that will be helpful to you. https://www.amazon.com/Change-Affection-Incredible-Story-Redemption-ebook/dp/B07KF16KRY

Just an encouragement, His grace is sufficient for you and you have been given the Holy Spirit, you have been freed from sin forever more. I don’t mean to say we all are perfect but if you are struggling with this it means you are battling and that is evidence of the spirit.
On a more logistical approach please bring on a mature Christian that you know and trust into this with you. Let them remind you of the grace you have in Christ and lovingly walk out accountability with you. Also, a friend of mine has recently read this ([Finally Free - link below for reference) and found it to be really helpful in the battle.

So there’s a few things with Corinthians. One, it is a letter written to the church of Corinth. We do not see a verse like this again. I highly recommend reading this book: https://www.amazon.com/Read-Bible-Changing-Times-Understanding/dp/0801072832/ref=nodl_?dplnkId=aea1d06e-87a7-4eac-868f-5a4cef8468b2 by Mark L Strain. He gave a presentation to our church and taught about this verse because I was in the same boat as you.
Yes, in a marriage you are BOTH supposed to submit to each other. Women submit to your husbands and men, love your wife like Christ loves the church. Biblical marriage is that you are serving each other for the rest of your lives.
How to tell a real Christian from a fake one ? I would first like to hear their salvation testimony and see what they value as important in life, and also see if they have been living in a manner that reflects that. I find that people who have truly received salvation, understand what kind of state they were in prior to salvation and live with a heart of gratitude toward God and Jesus. I imagine they would live with a similar heart to that of the adulteress who stood before Jesus when He said "Neither do I condemn you." That type of person would live with a different perspective on life imo.
I guess there are different levels of faith, but the ones i gravitate to are the ones that live with a certain passion for spreading the gospel. They have experienced the good love of God and know that there is nothing in this present world that can compare. This should be the purpose of life after being born again.
I'm so sorry for all the horrible things you have gone through. If you haven't already, you should seek counseling to help you work through it. I understand you being angry for those things being done to you. It's also hard to see an aunt you love suffer. My mom was a strong believer and she died of pancreatic cancer. It was hard to see her suffer too. But I will say this... She loved the Lord and trusted him and she knew that this world was not her home. She's in heaven now.
But somewhere along the way you've decided that God must hate those who are suffering, but that's absolutely not true.
I'm not going to pretend that I understand what you've been through. But I would like to recommend that you read this book by Joni Erickson Tada. She was paralyzed at the age of 19 and has gone through a lot of suffering herself. She's had cancer as well and intense pain. I listened to the audiobook version of this and it was very encouraging to see her heart for God in the midst of deep trials. It's called, "A Place of Healing: Wrestling with the Mysteries of Suffering, Pain, and God's Sovereignty." I was actually thinking of listening to it again. https://www.amazon.com/Place-Healing-Wrestling-Mysteries-Sovereignty-ebook/dp/B005MT8U3S

I am interested in checking it out. It is:
I am not vouching for it, but it is only 1.99 for SD version to rent on Prime.
I’d recommend this book. It’s a few years old, and not all that deep, but it does a nice job of explaining the strengths and shortcomings of both major political parties in America as it relates to the Christian faith. (PS I’m making the assumption that OP is American)
This is currently my favorite and is on sale for $30.
It's definitely possible that it will happen in our lifetime. The Bible tells us to be alert and ready, so it's good to keep our eyes out for the signs.
as snarky as it may sound, I'm genuinely interested. I have a huge disdain for Freudian Psychology (I hope I am not confusing your field with psychology, but it sounds intertwined). I really dont see how you can reconcile a sound biblical theology (I do not subscribe to Roman Catholicism in any sense) with modern concepts of psychology which is very atheistic/evolutionary. Any comments?
I comment with all due respect and not to try to score cheap points or "gotchya's". Wondering how you see Jesus dying to redeem individuals for their sin and telling them to be born AGAIN [of the Spirit] and with concepts of animalistic evolutionary thought.
Thanks
There's an app called Remember Me (Link to Play Store, not sure if it exists for iOS) which works really well in my experience.
I'm not quite sure what you mean "while still getting the meaning". Don't you also menorize the meaning by memorizing the words?
My usual copypasta:
What's often lacking in these conversations is a consistent ethical model that lets us identify what sin is. The Church in my experience is shockingly bad at teaching this. I argue that Christian ethics are not rule-based, but are instead virtue-based; our goal is not to check the boxes, but to build a Christ-like character. We build that character by virtuous acts. So the question "is this action sinful" could be rephrased as "does this action tear down or build up Christian virtues in me?"
What are the Christian virtues? There are a number of lists, in the Bible and outside of it. But the ones in the Bible are impressively consistent. These are the virtues I can identify from scripture. - Humility before God: Serve God, and see that his ways are higher than your ways - Drive for righteousness and restorative justice: Make your life and the world more in line with God's will; mourn sin and repent - Embrace of knowledge, wisdom, and truth: Learn true things, reject false things, and spread that learning - Love and respect: Place others before yourself - Joy, satisfaction, contentment, gratitude: Recognize the good God has given you - Forgive and build peace, covenant, and relationship: Give up revenge, and encourage reconciliation - Patience and hope: Remember that God will act, and that He rules all things - Kindness, mercy, and generosity: Do good for people, especially those in need - Integrity and self-control: Be one thing, all the time; subdue bodily impulses - Faithfulness and endurance: Keep your covenants, carry on in the face of all adversity https://airtable.com/shrUeWRc4gUj6JDXG

So. Does this practice build up the virtues in you, tear them down, or neither?
This book is amazing and helps you formulate arguments and gives you all of the information for the resurrection of Jesus and loads of evidence from over the last 50 years I believe. This book is from the top scholars
Yes, there is. Quite a bit and compelling. Any book by Gary Habermas is good-- he is a well known expert on the subject. He wrote a book with another top scolar that is much recommended called The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus. You could also try watching videos featuring Gary Habermas and Mike Licona. There is a YT channel called Capturing Christianity that has interviews with both of them. https://www.amazon.com/Case-Resurrection-Jesus-Gary-Habermas-ebook/dp/B001QOGJY0/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3JMN7TYGSI2VO&keywords=gary+habermas&qid=1654151281&sprefix=gary+habermas%2Caps%2C445&sr=8-4

Well Muslims believe in works. You never know where you truly stand with Allah until death. When your deeds are measured on his scales.
But in Christ you are a new creature. Sinless and blameless before him.

Sad… I was just considering getting a wide margin Bible for note taking on the side.
Technically there’s Bible apps that have note taking features too btw… I know my Blue Letter Bible app has that feature…
Each gospel had a purpose it was a message tova certain people.
Mathew was written to the Jews
Mark was for the Romans Jesus's was shown as strong and powerful but silent just as any good Roman should be
Luke was written as a pleading letter to Theophilus it is combined with Acts
John was written for a later generation 60 years after I believe to renew hope
All four of them show us just how much Jesus can relate to anyone

I myself would absolutely love to get my hands on the Q document the four gospels apparently drew from
Amir Tsarfati, in his book The Last Hour, states that the Queen of Heaven is described by John in Revelation 17:3-5.
>3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
>4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
>5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
He also states that she is Europa and is based on the Greek mythological story of the rape of Europa - Europa being the basis for the name Europe.
In this story, Zeus disguised himself as a white bull in order to seduce the princess, Europa, who was out gathering flowers. When she approached the bull and climbed on its back, the bull seized the occasion to run away with her and eventually rape her. After her eventual death, she received divine honors as the "Queen of Heaven".
This woman riding the beast continues to be a prevalent symbol in modern Europe.
I've been struggling with contentment this year as well. I'm currently going through this book with some buddies and I really recommend it so far: https://www.amazon.com/Chasing-Contentment-Trusting-God-Discontented/dp/143355366X

For anyone interested this cd contains the song Here in The Light which sounds exactly like an 80s TV show opening Christian and Heartwarming
In few words, the unpardonable sin is perpetual blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (likely with extremely malicious intent, a complete rejection of God and His ways). That's my understanding at least, look if it was just one measly thought where you didn't even believe what you were saying then everyone would be condemned, but God is abundantly merciful and weighs the spirits. A man's enemies is within his own household (within yourself), try not to dwell on random thoughts that don't mean anything, re-read Proverbs to learn to guard your heart and further read Ecclesiastes to get understanding, I highly recommend St. Gregory of Nyssa's biblical commentaries to bridge gaps in understanding.
I can sort of sympathise with your obsessive prodding at fate, however this is dealt with by practicing humility and recognising that the only right we have is to be judged by God. By fear of God, men depart from evil.
OP your title is accurate and you make some good points but I don’t see the actual moment in which you were born again. You you experienced true freedom when you “did” something.
Just like physical birth, spiritual birth happens in a moment. You cannot decide or choose the moment it happens. Faith comes to you. Please read the salvation testimonies of John Wesley, John Bunyan, Martin Luther, Madame Guyon. They all describe the moment in this book.

I’m sorry for your loss and can’t even imagine what you’re going through.
Matt Chandler wrote a book on grief and suffering called Joy in the SorrowJoy in the Sorrow
It’s really a collection of stories from people who have experienced deep grief and suffering.
I recommend a book called, "Jesus Among Other Gods" by Ravi Z.
He goes deep into theological, philosophical, and spiritual questions on fundamental beliefs, the claims Jesus stated, and much more in detail. If you're interested in other "isms" then I recommend his other book called, "Jesus Among Secular Gods". Both are great reads and will give you a lot of insight on these matters.
God bless.

I would encourage you to start reading the Bible with an open mind. Pray and ask God to reveal himself to you. Start with the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel is a popular book for people in your position. https://www.amazon.com/Case-Christ-Journalists-Personal-Investigation-ebook/dp/B01863JLK2
I understand your situation sounds really challenging and heart breaking. You really love her and it breaks your heart to see her leave God.
I had a childhood friend who left God for new ageism.
I believe they desire the new age because they want to feel a deep connection to the spiritual realm. I can't promise this will open her heart but here is a book I recommend that show there is a better alternative to the new age, it is the supernstural of God.
Angelic Visitations and Supernatural Encounters: A Diary of Living in the Supernatural of God by Michael Van Vlymen
He is one of my favorite Christian book authors and I love how he teaches that any believer can walk in close fellowship with God
Hopefully this helps. I'm sorry this hard situation is happening to you.

I would highly recommend Joyce Meyer’s book,” The battlefield of the mind”. This book helped me to overcome my constant worries, fears and helped me feel confident in my ability, through Jesus, to ward and cast away evil thoughts/forces.

I don't think this book can replace some solid abuse recovery/therapy, but it is exceptionally healthy material. I found it very helpful.

a) if you're saved, sins won't send you to hell
b) if you're saved you should still try to abstain from sin and flee from it but not for fear of hell but rather out of love of God. The more modern translation of the Mortification of Sin is a great book about that very subject

c) spend a lot of time in the New Testament closely, read it through, then read it through again.
One of my favourite books is all on this topic and I can't recommend it enough!
God's Philosophers: How the Medieval World Laid the Foundations of Modern Science by James Hannam
> God's Philosophers is a celebration of the forgotten scientific achievements of the Middle Ages - advances which were often made thanks to, rather than in spite of, the influence of Christianity and Islam... God's Philosophers brings back to light the discoveries of neglected geniuses like John Buridan, Nicole Oresme and Thomas Bradwardine, as well as putting into context the contributions of more familiar figures like Roger Bacon, William of Ockham and Saint Thomas Aquinas
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1848311508/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_6BB436CAHQ7MZG7HJF8Z
It's especially funny that centuries of propaganda about evil religion being murderously anti-science are finally being debunked in a very popular book, leading to lots of reviews from humanist associations saying it's disgraceful that the book is 'distorting history' with 'pro-religion propaganda'.
There would have been no such outcry if the book regurgitated untruths about Christians violently suppressing all science until the superhero atheists came and decided we shouldn't live in caves.
Thanks for this.
I suggest OP to use this application I Am Sober. It is an ad-free motivational companion app for tracking sobriety.
It helps to keep track. It asks us to take a pledge daily and at the end of the day asks us whether we stuck to the pledge that day.
As others said - Take it a day at a time and seek wisdom, it's worth more than material things.
> Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. - Proverbs 3:13-14

You probably have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit...
According to Kat Kerr (someone I really like)...
2/3/18rep Kat Kerr Encounters Kat Kerr's Revelation Realm https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/pinkrevelator/episodes/2018-02-03T22\_28\_07-08\_00
Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is when you despise God, in order to even commit it you would’ve had to have an amazing intimate relationship will all the trinity, . If you think you have committed it then you haven’t because if you have you could care less.
