Found this in a military group, posting within the last hours:
If you know an AMERICAN CITIZEN who is in Afghanistan trying to get out, **PM TL Touzin** and she can get you in touch with the right folks. They should also fill out this form: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx...
And find information here: https://af.usembassy.gov/security-alert-repatriation.../...
That's incredibly unfortunate, and the police in this town do little to help, too. I was robbed recently and we had fingerprints, high quality video in which the thief looked straight at the camera, and serial numbers and an exact list of what was stolen, and that was 2 months ago with no results.
Since then I've become anal about my car's security, and to protect against this I got locking lug nuts. Dead simple to use, and it secures your wheels; I highly recommend them.
I'm not sure I completely agree with you. That's probably because I haven't met a lot of people who are against abortion but also supportive of Planned Parenthood's services. I don't doubt that they exist.
What I do see and hear is a vocal population willing to defund an organization because of a service they disagree with that counts for a very small portion of services actually rendered. (3% of Planned Parenthood's services were abortions [to put that into perspective that's 328,000 abortions out of 10.6 million services provided] This figure is taken from the Planned Parenthood 2013-2014 Annual Report, that's just services not patients some organizations have estimated that 12% of patients come to Planned Parenthood for abortion services.) Link
The public funds that Planned Parenthood receives (around 40% of its annual budget, again taken from their annual report) come from Medicaid (targeted at lower income individuals) and Title X (which is a federal family planning program that also serves lower income families). Title X money specifically comes with the limitation that it not be spent on abortions and Medicaid money, while it does allow for abortions, is tightly restricted. (Please see the Hyde Amendment of 1977)[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_Amendment] Any elective abortions that PP provides do not come from public money.
I appreciate your viewpoint, but I just don't see these protests and the defunding of Planned Parenthood as something that is really coming from a constructive place. I see too many important services for already under served communities getting caught in the crossfire.
It's on Amazon for 419, they have a $150 off coupon right now so it's 269.

However, this thing can take up to 10 minutes to put on. You might as well just get in your car and drive it to a parking garage or something.
Top of palmer park has a great view of the whole city (free). Cheyenne mnt park (free) another great view and small water fall. Make my guests who visit, feel like they are in the mountains w/o leaving the city. Also the wind sculptures at star kemp's house http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33364-d2179844-Reviews-Starr_Kempf_s_Metal_Sculptures-Colorado_Springs_El_Paso_County_Colorado.html I did not see Garden of the Gods park on your list and its a must see. (You can just drive through park if weather is an issue).
Manitou Springs is a cute little town next to CS and have lots of touristy shops. Manitou has had a rough go of it since the fires n flash flooding in recent years so if you have time check it out and support a local business. They have an arcade that has ALL the retired video games and ride on toys. Fun n cheap (most games/rides are $0.25 each)
Hope you enjoy your visit.
Try an air purifier like this and change the air filter in your home regularly. Plants can definitely help but it would take a mini jungle to clean the air like you're thinking.
Mt. Muscoco is where I initially thought of when I saw this.
I was mistaken about the split rock visible in my photos from the top of section 16. They are too large. But I took my lunch early and just drove to the top of the seven bridges trails in Cheyenne Canyon.
The area seemed right, but I could not locate that specific rock. If someone were able to get to the top of muscoco, they would probably be able to see this rock somewhere, you get an amazing, unobstructed view into the range from up there.
Here's a well written article that gave some good perspective on the situation:
My Grandfather's been in business for over 50 years and the place has a great old-school feel to it. Here's his location: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=727+W+Colorado+Avenue,+Colorado+Springs,+CO.&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x8713452e1bbcb5c5:0x53decd856aa7cff1,727+W+Colorado+Ave,+Colorado+Springs,+CO+80905&gl=us&ei=eJY2UM7uJ5L3yAHKzIHIDg&ved=0CCEQ8g...
Since your app collects geo data even when its not open and many apps are sharing location data with firms that market location data information without the users' knowledge as a way to monetize free apps. Can you tell me if you are selling users data? Also where is the data physically stored? The privacy policy states "The data processed at the owners offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located" especially since the address for the company is a UPS store P.O. box in Littleton, I doubt you are hosting servers there. All-in-all as a network engineer with background in security, you couldn't pay me to download this thing.
Edit* It is funny how many people blindly download stuff that tracks your every movement. LMAO
For those same people I have this link could you just run the java plugin when it prompts you. I swear it wont steal your banking credentials.
Don't know about whether or not you can take a pooch on the incline these days. Re: hikes. Eagle's Peak is probably the most technically difficult hike I've done around here. Elevation increase is similar to the incline, a little more distance to cover, lots of scrambling near the peak. Pretty amazing views of the academy and the plains / hills surrounding the area. Waterfall in the spring. And if you go during the week at business hours, chances are you can see gliders, planes, and / or paratroopers at eye level in the distance. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/eagles-peak-trail
Rent a car. Public transit is mediocre. I've used priceline before for rental cars. You tend to get the crappiest one they have, but the price is usually pretty good
Airbnb is great. When we house hunted here, we stayed here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2237908 And it was fantastic. Great service. Might not be conducive to honeymoon "activities" as there are people upstairs, and noises probably travel easily :)
It is definitely not fine. Among the other things to consider, the smog (due to wildfire) here is terrible for anyone especially a baby.
"Get your babe some fresh air"

I just read a post on Nextdoor about a car accident at academy and Dublin yesterday where a dog got lose after the accident. I linked to this post. But here is that link back
We have an airplane restaurant that all the kids in my family have loved. You can eat in the cabin and go play in the cockpit. Food is so-so but the experience is pretty unique. Unfortunately it is completely on the EAST side of town, probably 15-20 min from wherever you are. http://www.solosrestaurant.com/
America the Beautiful Park is popular during the day with kids because we have a giant, rotating statue of a Stargate that is also a water feature. I ride my bike there everyday and there are always families with blankets spread out in the grass, kids in bathing suits running and playing around the water. There's a playground there as well. This would be pretty close to you and FREE.
SkyZone just opened on woodmen & academy, very kid friendly.
Starr Kempf's metal scuptures are near the entrance of Cheyenne Canyon. You can stop by these as you enter or leave Helen Hunt Falls/seven falls (I imagine you may already be going over there since you said you were doing some touristy stuff, If not, I'd recommend it. Seven Falls is not free but Helen Hunt is.) I loved watching these as a child. To me, they were huge, and beautiful, kind of scary. Here's info on those: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33364-d2179844-Reviews-Starr_Kempf_s_Metal_Sculptures-Colorado_Springs_El_Paso_County_Colorado.html The scuptures are in the front yard of what used to be Starr Kempf's house (I believe now his son Gideon's house) but they are so big that you can drive by and still appreciate them.
Palmer Park has a huge playground. I imagine it's pretty exciting for a kid! Enter Palmer Park from maizeland and the playground is on the right. Keep driving (keep left at the fork) and you will arrive at the Overlook, where you will find a small parking lot and a beautiful view of the mountain range.
Are you seriously trying to say that climate change isnt contributing to different weather patterns?
https://weatherspark.com/m/3685/5/Average-Weather-in-May-in-Colorado-Springs-Colorado-United-States
This says you're wrong.
If you just moved here from Michigan I would highly advise you not to do anything too crazy athletically, the altitude change is a bitch and it's going to hit you harder than you think it will plus the hot weather isn't going to help things.
To ease you into things a bit I would probably start out with one of my favorite parks, Pulpit Park Trail. Free parking, good easy trail to follow, like 4 mile loop, pretty quiet most of the time, you can get off the trail a bit if you want a bigger challenge.
You can also go visit Garden of the Gods, probably one of the most beautiful pieces of land in the world. Trails of all kinds of physical levels/abilities from more or less flat and paved to super inclined and sketchy as hell but no matter what paths you take it's hard to beat the views.
Palmer Park has Templeton trail which is nice, easy and accessible.
http://www.everytrail.com/guide/palmer-park-templeton-trail
I'd suggest hitting up either REI or The Mountain Chalet (downtown on Tejon). They have gear and local guide books and maps. Welcome!
I haven't used AirBnB around here yet but I have had good experiences with them. Here is a link to a search for the area with your specified dates.
The first listing here says that exact thing. You have a Sec+, that's the only thing required to get a clearance. Well that and you have to pass the investigation.
It sounds like an MSP would be a good place to start but I have no idea how to find those jobs.
A company a couple of my buddies work for have been looking for lower level folks to do tier 1 for their NOC, no clearance required. They're not looking for anybody at the moment but if I hear something I'll let you know.
I haven't looked too much into it, but I know there is online work you can do.
or
I might be interested. Prefer meetups. Speaking of, this would be a good group to create on meetup.com. There are tons of local groups there. No scifi book clubs that I've seen, though.
Accuweather has an air quality forecast. Here's the link to the COS forecast:
https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/colorado-springs/80903/air-quality-index/327351
We're looking good for Saturday, but the air quality will worsen a bit next week.
The craigs is pretty easy and once you finish the scramble at the end the views are amazing
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/the-crags-trail--5
On the AirBnB route, there's a few for quite a bit less than $1000 for the month: https://www.airbnb.com/s/colorado-springs?checkin=03%2F01%2F2016&checkout=03%2F31%2F2016&price_max=3330&ss_id=62rvf3wd&s_tag=DNzAulMB
Play with the settings a bit.
Mountain Shadows has the best breakfast!
La Baguette has some fantastic french onion soup, great quick lunch place.
The Olive Branch and Jack Quinn's are both pretty tasty as well.
It's quite odd that Reddit wouldn't allow you to upload pictures. Where were the pictures hosted? If they were hosted on Nextdoor.com it was probably more that Nextdoor prevented Reddit from linking to them.
As it stands, I followed the link and it demands I "join" Nextdoor to continue. While already a member of Nextdoor, I live no where near the area in question so I didn't bother to login.
Try Imgur.com. It's what I've typically used. I believe Reddit, though maybe not this subreddit, will allow you to upload images for posts.
Again, it is quite likely NOT Reddit's fault. Rather I believe it is Nextdoor's requirement fault in that it requires you to have an account and be logged in.
Check out meetup.com or the meetup app. There are hiking groups, social groups, and even motorcycle groups on there that get together. I am a part of a couple of hiking, photography, and weekend riding groups, which has introduced me to many places I wouldn't find on my own.
I'm not sure how kid-friendly some of these might be (choking hazard decor, etc), but if you're looking for local flair, have you considered an airbnb? Without entering dates, here are some in Manitou - https://www.airbnb.com/s/Manitou-Springs--CO--United-States?checkin=&guests=4&source=bb&ss_id=xwfy2i2c
Rainbow Hot Springs is another one. Fires a couple of years aog may have imapcted access, not sure. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/rainbow-hot-springs

Here's the Google Map thats driving it. Great stuff. I'm out east in Peyton, but have TONS of evac'd friends. Oh, and my workplace is evac'd and inaccessible.
I actually just resolved this issue! I used the website someone linked below and I wasn't able to get anything done online. I made an appointment for the tax service center at the DMV on south Union (https://www.cloudhq.net/meeting/pH5E67DTtwJghV8MDlF?local_timezone_utc_offset=-360).
I walked in and let them know I didn't get it in the mail, they sent out a reissued check and had me sign a piece of paper saying I wouldn't cash both of them if I received the first one. Got it in the mail about two weeks later!
There's a website and app (for iOS and android) called "Nextdoor" that I would recommend adding your post to. It's a great way to communicate local/neighborhood issues such as lost/found pets, yard sales, suspicious activity, etc. https://nextdoor.com/
Alright, I can help you out here
You are going to want split top hotdog buns for the authentic new england lobster rolls. https://www.amazon.com/England-Split-top-Frankfurter-Lobster-Rolls/dp/B07CNCBN9W
for the actual lobsters, like people said - Asia Pacific down on Platte. BE WARNED. You want the smallest lobsters they have. Anything over 2lbs is overpriced and just not going to be worth the cost. They usually sell 2.5-3.5lb giant ass lobsters, totally not worth it. But not worth driving to Aurora or Denver to get pretty much the same thing
You can make a good crab meat roll as well, and Asia Pacific sells live dungeness crabs quite often. Dont bother trying to make these with blue crabs, too much work in the end
For day to day seafood, the Safeway off Research is best - my opinion. The main guy there is smart about seafood and meat (Robert). Right now though, even snow crab is stupidly overpriced - $23/lb which is easily double the usual cost. Red/pink Argentinian shrimp is the cool new shrimp, very tasty. Costco on Powers will at times have dungeness crab clusters for sale at a reasonable enough price, just make sure they are cold/frozen and dont feel "light".
If all else fails, go eat at Bobs Lobstah Trap off Barnes
Sibley's book of birds, the west is very good:
I honestly doubt that many places still do this because of physical media slowly falling more and more out of usage with many consumers. Depending upon how many discs you have to repair, it may be worthwhile to look into purchasing a tool to do this, as it might cost more to get them repaired by someone who may just be using the same tool.
I have used these since Denver started charging for plastic bags.
https://www.amazon.com/Reusable-Grocery-Shopping-Bags-Pack/dp/B06XNLWB3B
I would never go back to regular bags. I can carry them in 1 trip, I'm not worried about bags breaking ever. I suggest these or something similar over just a cloth bag, they carry more and you can easily load them in your cart so you know everything will fit.
The only downside is we are not a large house. I don't know how easily they can stack or load if you require more than 3 or max 4 that will fit in the bottom of a cart.
Cool! Here's a link to the All trails page for your convenience! It's a really nice out and back hike. You can go further, but it gets pretty difficult after the Seven Bridges trails turns into the Forest Service trail. This change happens when the trail hits a large almost vertical rock face. There's a really cool peak and old old cabin about 7 miles out. But even so, just doing the Seven Bridges portion is so nice, and not too hard.
Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/seven-bridges-trail?p=-1
If you're going to be in the Springs, and want to hit a dispensary, and don't want to go to Denver, I would definitely go to Pueblo.
If you want to do the Hype Beast thing, Rocky Mountain Blaze has Cookies, Natty Rems, Veritas, 14ers, and a bunch of other "brands". Be prepared to pay over 50 an 8th.
If you just want some weed, pick a dispensary in Pueblo and go to it.
https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/rocky-mountain-blaze
Hiking should be fine. Check out Mt Cutler trail if conditions allow. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mt-cutler-trail
When I first moved here I was so overwhelmed with the options, unsure of my abilities, and knew I was only going to be in CO ~1.5 years so I wanted to prioritize my time. I got this book:
It allowed me to work through some of the relatively easier hikes and acclimate appropriately. So far I've hiked 10 routes from the book (and plenty not in the book) and have not been disappointed at all. I've found his rate of difficulty and times have been very fair. My favorites from the book so far are Pacific Peak via Mayflower lakes (definitely be comfortable on scree) and Huron for a sunrise hike (I liked the way up, but disliked seeing the almost Disney-like lines on my way down of everyone heading up on a Saturday).
For what it's worth, my first '14 was Sherman last September, I then went away for work for 6 months, got after it this past summer and closed out my '14nering (is this even a word?) with Long's three weeks ago.
Easy '14 is also relative. Conditions, your own level of fitness, and experience with different terrain determine how easy it is for you. My advice would be to pick one, and plan your hikes specifically to get ready for it.
It depends on the type of phone. For Android some options are
*#*#4636#*#*
, *#2263#
, *#0011#
The app is easier than the dialer codes, and switching to 3G is generally the easiest and most compatible option across phone models.
5G is all the rage, but a decent 3G connection is enough to watch Netflix or YouTube.
What I'd do is a the day before leaving, like when I'm packing, I'd go to www.wunderground.com, and look up the zip code where I was going to be visiting.
Then I'd check the 10 day forecast. It'd show me highs, lows, wind, precipitation chance, all of that.
Then I'd pack appropriately.
That's just me though. /shrug
Oh and if you're coming from like sea level (you've been here before so you may be familiar) be aware that altitude can really jack you up. Hydrate and sunscreen. Chapstick because it's real dry here.
Enjoy your trip!
They have been doing this in Europe for years and we're finally figuring it out as well. People had a little tantrum when Ikea came to town and enforced what was already normal for them it's just learning to adapt.
It's just like recycling and we're still not good at that either but eventually it will be the norm. Just like radio to color tv, landlines to cell phone, etc.
These bags are easier to carry in and out of the store and they wash well. The large obnoxious ones they are trying to get us to use won't really help when they take up half your shopping cart.
If they charged .50 or $1 we'd probably come around a bit faster.
I have one from my family living in Germany in the '80's and it's still holding up well. I bought some about 10 years ago and pack 2-3 each time I go to Europe because I already know they don't have bags or charge for bags there. Ireland charged .50 per bag last time I was there and Spain was $1.
I was thinking of getting one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Hail-Protector-Portable-System-Coupes/dp/B07PLMRKF4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3
I have seen them in action and honestly favor them. Also people mentioning moving blankets, I may just layer them and stitch them together and anchor them.
I just gotta say I dislike workplaces not having more covered parking... its ridiculous
Wow. Thank you.
This was a first project of mine: https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Basic-Income-Superconscious-Control-ebook/dp/B08415QS68/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1657478250&refinements=p_27%3AThe+Duke+Of+Oxford+Circle&s=books&sr=1-1
It not of high quality, but my new works will be. Do you know of anyone actively pursuing these people? I am glad I found this post. If there are a lot of cults here I'd over to do an art installation/documentary about them.
I'm ex-cult (Jehovah's Witness) and anti-cult as well, but there are better ways to reach these people than feeding their "us vs them" persecution complex.
We just bought this one a few weeks ago and it has worked exceptionally well. It’s a little loud but we got used to it super quickly because it has been so wonderful to finally be able to sleep:
Shinco 8,000 BTU Portable Air... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HR5CN7G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Food safe? look for home brewing stores. They are all actually 6.5 gal if you fill to brim. For a bucket the can be expensive (like $15-20 a pop)
I use (this)[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073LMW3RN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1] with (this) [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CJ453V6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1] and AutoBoy Blackbox app. So everytime I get in and out of the car the dashcam comes with out (your phone)
I have a bunch of these: Juegoal 12 oz Hanging Hummingbird Feeder, 2 Pack Outdoor Hummingbird Feeders with 8 Feeding Flower Ports, Bird Nectar Leak-Proof Saucer Feeders for Garden Yard Patio https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094MVQ9GZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NDRV3FGR1HJQ56DHZ4ME?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
They’re really easy to clean which is super important and they don’t leak. I’m pretty sure you can get some similar ones at the dollar store / grocery store.
This $10 sign in front of my house and a couple cameras takes care of ALL the problem door knockers at our house.
I haven't had a single "mistake" or "accidental knock" either. SunRun's hostile door-to-door salesmen were the last straw.
My wife and I were going crazy trying to think of stuff to do. We found this book on Amazon, called the adventure challenge. It has indoor and outdoor activities to name a few. They use icons so you can figure it out. The best thing about it is that it's a scratch off...you don't know exactly what you are doing. Like I said, you use icons to decide on an activity and then you scratch it out. It even has places for photos.
A mountain lion was hit by a car on Austin Bluffs some years ago, in front of UCCS, IIRC. "CPW says the footage was taken Tuesday night in a neighborhood near hospitals & shopping malls" in this case. Golly, wonder where that might be.
Read the book Beast In The Garden, it's about when mountain lions came to Boulder, CO about 30 years ago. The hippies loved them until deer, then pets, then people started disappearing:
https://www.amazon.com/Beast-Garden-Predators-Suburban-America/dp/0393326349
I'm glad the 90s are over. We ran that small A/C too many times this year.
Edit: Also, that does line up fairly close to the weather station in my backyard. Weather Underground Station
I could not agree more.
I've lived here all my life, and weather is always one of the biggest jokes in our state. It changes so rapidly there is something for everyone.
The snow does not stick around, but the side roads are NEVER plowed, so it will stay there if there is shade.
Also, you'll get some nice, warm days every month of the year. I remember it being warm last December, and I was right. It was 64 on December 6th, and you can expect a day of that at least once a month.

Actually, Weld county in CO has the most tornadoes of any county in the US, though the overwhelming majority are weak and out in the middle of nowhere, and Weld is quite large. Oklahoma has the most severe and damaging ones, though.

Hey u/Kemba22,
My sister and I are subletting our apartment and it has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.F inancially we are asking for about $900/room in the Cragmoor neighborhood. It is pet friendly and has 2 parks within a 5 minute walk.

I am subleasing right now a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment that might actually fit your needs :) I don't mind the low credit I understand that as a student. We also are pet friendly!
Here's a link to our facebook marketplace listing if you want to look at any details and feel free to ask me questions/negotiate or etc. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/295991224884578/
Hey u/meowstash321,
My sister and I are renting out an apartment in the Cragmoor neighborhood. Check it out and see if it matches you financially. (Not a mobile home ): )
Lots of good suggestions here about layers + water + backpack. I'd add in some good waterproof shoes and if you hike shaded areas on a north face in winter (such as the Mt Cutler trail), then get some ice cleats also like this: https://www.amazon.com/Unigear-Traction-Walking-Jogging-Climbing/dp/B07CKHQ71C
I'd also suggest some hiking poles. They help save your knees and can provide good balance on rough terrain.
As for the hikes, start with Red Rocks Canyon and then do Heizer trail and Mt Cutler. Save the incline until you feel like Heizer is no big deal.
The Intemann trail is an easy cool trail.
Also, download COTREX app onto your smartphone for free. It will help you know where you are on a given trail and find other trails all around Colorado.
If you check here you can view the weekly historical weather.
Quick comparison - 04/29/16 had a high of 37 and snowed. 04/24/17 had a high of 73.
Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/cheyenne-mountain-via-talon-and-dixon-trail?p=25937877
I hope this link works, but yes Dixon trail should take you there.
Have you checked out airbnb for options? I just poked around and found a couple locations on the south side of town here for $30/night. Yeah, that'll still add up to close to $1,000 over the course of a month, but it's probably going to be your cheapest bet that doesn't require signing a lease. In fact, some of these offers have weekly/monthly discounts on the rates. Worth looking into?

I did not know the dogs name or the name to which the dog responds. https://nextdoor.com/p/zPY3Ktn5jxqt?utm_content=a&utm_source=share&extras=OTE0NDMxOA%3D%3D&init_source=copy_link_share
This is going to be your best bet. Just do yourself (and the seller) a favor, and keep your distance in the public place you meet. Wear a mask and keep your hands clean. Bring lysol wipes with you to wipe town the laptop after you receive it.
Hey OP, fellow person who's been peeped at through my windows by my very close and curious neighbors.
I bought this reflective mirror static film for my bedroom and bathroom windows. It appears like a mirror outside during the day, but you will still need to cover your windows at night.
If that's true, I would challenge you to check out Peter Pomerantsev's two books linked here (mainly this one) and here. They certainly changed my perspective in a giant ass hurry when I kept seeing things that made no logical sense, and you seem to be similarly confused by people's reaction to this school board thing as I was with other things.
Well intentioned, but at this point, I think the appointments are actually how they are managing the workload. When I got mine, the pharmacist giving it was pulled away from the pharmacy for an hour or so, specifically to give vaccines to those who had scheduled them.
As to the teething. I sympathize. These guys, with some frozen fruit, have been amazing.
Fellow Texan here (moved to CS last summer). Our place does have AC but many of our neighbors do not. We typically only use the AC when it's 90+ degree out. Otherwise if you have a basement it typically stays cool enough without the AC on. The weather https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/co/colorado%20springs/80920 today shows a warm 86 (by COS standards) and the rest of the week is in the 70s due to the monsoon rains. In short you'll be fine this week, maybe even the rest of the summer considering the heat you're used to/what you're coming from, but who knows about next week. :)
If we tell you, they wont be secret or less traveled.

That being said, Heizer trail will kick your ass about as much as the incline but with virtually zero traffic. Bring water.
Ahh, we are talking two different things. I was talking about Palmer Lake with the fountain in the middle, actually in Palmer Lake the city.
That article is about the reservoir, which is 4 miles away in the mountains.
The easiest way to find it is to find The Mount Muscoco Trail on the map - there's a road and parking right at the base of it. Just take the MM trail until you hit a very obvious fork - Left is Mt. Cutler, and to the right is the more aggressive and difficult Mt Muscoco. Sunset is a great time to go, since it's cooler AND you get to see the valley in gold. It's a gorgeous view and I think she'll be surprised ;)
Good point about the Tajine building. I blurred over the true story, got confused over which parts had burned. The original building mostly burned, but apparently some of the related structure survived, and was incorporated into the current building.
At least according to this source..

I would say catch a ride to Denver...flights from Den to Philadelphia are usually around $150-180. Out of CS, it's tough to find them under $200. Right now if you travel from Den to Philadelphia, you can get a ticket for $167 round trip/nonstop, from the 22nd of Feb and return on the 26th. Looks like that price is good for American and Frontier.
I got out of the Navy 6 months ago and it took me about that long to find a job. I had to move back home but the part time job I got at the Shrap Metal Kiosk at the Citadel pays the bills.
My friend and I are starting a business though! We make booze :P It's called Rocky Mountain Apple Pie and it tastes like... Apple pie! It's 80 proof and so, so smooth. Check out our FB page for now (our legit website is brand new and needs tweaks) and let me know if you guys want to know more.
Hike it Baby.com is so great and Meetup.com has some parent groups as well.
There is a magazine you can find around called Springs Kid's or something like it that has a listings of kids activities for the month. I've seen it at King Soopers and the Library we go to for story time so keep at eye out (its free).

I have this one and have been happy with it.https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZQJYDW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought a separate long usb wire that is hidden above the windshield and around the door. It is plugged into my car's power usb at the bottom in the front middle area, so it automatically turns on and off along with the vehicle.
Just like that other commentor suggested, I run an evaporative aircare. It's supposed to work for a much larger home, but I use it for a 1,400sqft. I'm generally able to get close to 40% humidity with it running 24/7. It holds 6 gallons and I fill it once a day. My sink sprayer reaches over the edge enough to just let it fill, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

Here is the flight school that operates out of the same building as us: http://www.cospilot.com/training.html
There may be more flight schools on the field, but they seem to be a good bunch of people. They also offer a Groupon for an introductory flight. https://www.groupon.com/biz/colorado-springs/peak-aviation-center
If you'd like to do some more research at home, a great place to start is: www.AOPA.org
I set up an e-mail alert at http://www.indeed.com/ for the local area that sends me a message each morning with all the newly posted engineering jobs. There are usually about 20 each weekday, but probably half require a security clearance, and I'm not sure I've seen a lot for chemical or biological engineer, but they occasionally pop up.
Internet: the two big companies are Comcast and CenturyLink. Depending on where you live you can get a smaller ISP, like Falcon Broadband.
Hiking: Here is a website that shows some good trails in and around Colorado Springs but like /u/raiderato said you can head anywhere and find a trailhead. Garden of the Gods is a good place but it could be hard to find parking during the tourist season.
Car/Truck: We dont really get snow storms like the Northeast does. We get "300 days of sunshine." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Springs,_Colorado#Climate_data
Why not try a one way car rental? You don't say the exact place, but a one day rental from Albuquerque to Colorado Springs can be 70ish.
Altitude Information
In case you are coming from a lesser altitude.
I'm doing the same hike next week, cant wait!
Here's a great deal I found on airbnb:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2535410?checkin=04%2F22%2F2014&checkout=05%2F07%2F2014&s=MlW2
There's a decent handful of options under 700 for the two weeks available on there.
For security cams I would recommend MotionEyeOS which can be installed on a $35 Raspberry Pi in 15 minutes by following those instructions.
DIY security is cheaper in the long-run and it's actually a lot of fun if you enjoy tech stuff.
Right on, I made music with Ableton and lots of Native Instruments plug-ins but the last few years I've moved over to hardware and no computer. Both are fine imo, I just have more fun with synthesizers. I just played a set of original music a couple of weeks ago downtown at Chiba Bar. It was a good time! --> https://audius.co/soundwrecker/live-at-chiba-bar-1_31_2020-47320
For those who wish to get around the paywall for whatever reason...
And if you're a firefox or Chrome user, this add-on is great. Just scroll down a little bit to the area that's pertinent to you.
Depends on end goal. I have performed a couple of wedding ceremonies now for couples that have met on Match.com...but I also believe Match is for the people looking for more of a commitment.
In my dating days, Tinder was ok. Never tried Ashley Madison...but based on your question it looks like you are more interested in flings vs the real deal. I would stick to Tinder.
In case you don't have this done yet and want to try another cheaper solution; look up powerline ethernet adapters on Amazon. I'll link a few below.
And there's a wifi extender with an ethernet port, you can set it up to just be a receiver instead connecting to the other router in the house on 5G or 2G:
Obviously running CAT is 100% better but those powerline adapters work extremely well as well. I've used the $112 one in multiple AirBNBs who only had wifi and was able to game on PS5 without zero latency issues.
Yeah, weird sites can list things for any price, but that doesn't mean it's actually worth that. I suppose someone might be willing to buy an old hard drive like that if they needed specific parts to repair the same model, but for 99.9% of use cases its worth nothing.
For comparison, a the same brand, but a 4TB (1000 times the storage) is currently on amazon for $85
Your driveway would be the quickest and cheapest.
You could install this one in probably 30 minutes. Everything is basically "plug-and-play," and the harness you need to reach is right on the bottom of your steering column.
