Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage, here are some Trailers
Not just Hitler. Book came out a few years ago detailing the drug use in Germany during WWII
This guy's story is really interesting. Parker's Fort, where his mother was captured and the rest of his family slaughtered, is a well kept state park. There was a book written about him, Empire of the Summer Moon, that was a Pulitzer finalist and great read. You can't imagine the violence and turbulence in his world as the Comanche fought the Anglos and Spanish/Mexicans.
He was arrested after a concert for possession of marijuana with Iggy Pop. Full story here.
You should create a subreddit called /r/whittyhistorian so we can then turn in a book that we can sell with full proceeds to reverse the damages of war. Like one of those anti-mine groups. Didn't I see a kickstarter on thi
Okay, check this out
I took your original image and I put it through https://letsenhance.io and I upscaled it twice. Then I put it into photoshop and adjusted the levels and downscaled it. Now you have a lot better B&W image source to color that won't give your finale image blocky jpeg artifacts!
LOVE how you did it. I think it is beautiful. The artist himself is done so perfectly. A search of the painting was really disappointing though. No colors at all to be seen. I was hoping for some cool intense colors!!! :P http://www.moma.org/collection/object.php?object_id=79668
It is called "The kitchen." I found a version that is really bright, but I don't think it is the original. It looks more like your original black and white photo color wise though.
Recently started doing some colorization as an after hours hobby. Did my best. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
It looks really good (and I especially like it because I know exactly where that is in real life!), except for her teeth, they look too grey and creepy. Other than that, great, especially the trees.
Oh, also, if you look at the location in Google Street view, you can see that the building in the background is supposed to be made of red bricks, but, nobody else would know that.
nicely done. I looked at that pic over at shorpy the other day and thought it looked like it could be colorized and then tweeked some to look like a Norman Rockwell style painting. anyway, your colorization, with what I had in mind...https://imgur.com/6yRQYqy
Very nice although I think that I still prefer the original better.
Also, I thought you copied this, might want to let people know in case they don't know who you are!
This is my attempt to colorize it.
I hope it is to your satisfaction. To be honest, I didn't have a clue what colour to give your grandfathers clothes.
It's colorized using GIMP. The source file can be found here if you would like to view how it's done or edit it:
A nice colorization! If I were to suggest any changes, it would be in the skin tone which seems rather pink (https://www.shutterstock.com/search/skin+color).
A nice subject - I learned something about history because of your choice. Regarding the colors, the saturation seems a bit rich for the skin and eyes. I suggest backing off on the saturation. The skin is also a bit 'pink' for my taste. Perhaps blending a bit of 'moccasin' (#FFE4B5) might help bring a more natural skin hue. (https://www.shutterstock.com/search/skin+color)
Ok I read a bunch and watched this documentary.

These are my thoughts.
Brenda and her father have been seeing each other once a week and are friends according to both of them, why would you be friends with a person who sexually abused you and drove you to hate so much you killed people. Also she waited 20 years to mention it at a parole hearing.
Was she really high? After listening to her talk and say she was drinking and smoking pot and pcp, and has no recollection, I tend to believe her. The drug test came back negative, but who the F knows how she was tested or for what? She seemed to shoot proficiently the sheriff argues, but her gun is super light weight, easy to reload, and she was shooting pretty much in one direction through a gate and hallway, so like you can just go ham.
Is she making all this shit up just so she can justify parole?
No ones talks to her brother and sister about their father and his abusive behavior.
The mom seems to have a easy answer for all the problems that come up and for her disinvolvement.
Anyhow I wish I could see some of the photography she produced as some articles say she was very talented at it.
In the end I don't what to to think, she could have got out of prison if she went to trial and brought all this abuse up, instead she just stays quiet and gets life in prison. Sometimes you just have to think some people are wired fucked up, perhaps a catalyst event does happen like her father crossing the line, and then coupled with being so young and not knowing the gravity of your actions, you casually shoot 36 times into a school yard.
Honestly this whole thing is fascinating because of her cool hippy look imo, I can just imagine hanging out with her and making her laugh and smoking pot and making art instead of whatever drove her to murder.
Discharged German soldier Fritz Reidel returned to his wife and children, May 21, 1945. U.S. military began discharging German soldiers after medical exams and fingerprinting. Nice start. Have you seen the tutorials in the sidebar? The first one for Photoshop is great for tips on doing skintone. Also, did you do any adjusting of the levels or brightness on this pic before you started? I pic that is adjusted will make the colorization better. There are videos online that describe how to do it. Here is one to check out to get started.

God dammit. I don't know what's happening, but every time I try to upload the picture, the colors get changed to this
But when I open the picture from my hard drive, it's normal.
I tried uploading it to tinypic and the colors are waaay to vibrant and bright.

I'm really sorry that I can't get it to upload decently.
A few more than 1,100 young women, all civilian volunteers, flew almost every type of military aircraft — including the B-26 and B-29 bombers — as part of the WASP program. More details
Thanks for the comments much appreciated, as I said I'm new to colouring and I know I've still got much to learn but at least it's a long way from my early efforts where it looked like I'd used a crayon or coloured pencils.
I agree about the glossy and shiny, I think i was concentrating too much on making it look like James Dean - film star rather than focusing on the actual situation. Here's another version where I used a vignette effect in Analog Effex Pro2^* to remove most of the background, which in my opinion makes it look more like it was from a publicity shot for a magazine: http://imgur.com/a/lCcFa
^* - I highly recommend both Analog Effex Pro 2 and Color Effex Pro 4 from Google which I use on my own photos as the filters are really good and easy to customise. They can be directly linked to GIMP and Photoshop software but you might need to know how to script in Python. I use them as stand alone software and save to lossless TIFF (doesn't work with PNG files) and convert to JPG only at the end.
They are both available for free here: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

Here is a .tif and .jpg version of the colorized photo. http://www.sendspace.com/file/kcb1gh , , http://www.sendspace.com/file/5a943q , , Tried my best with the adjustments you mentioned. Also, I've never used sendspace before so hopefully the links actually work.
This is ancient collectable card game history but the creator masters series skybox series in 1995 had a card done by Dave Dorman that copied this photo but the character was a futuristic dystopian worker hooked on a life support machine. Card was called "Mr Drone"
I can't seem to find that card anywhere online. I found the series:

omg same! Founds some gogo boots in allll the colors:
I almost forgot, Windrow's book about the French Foreign Legion Paratroops is also useful, since the uniforms in Indochina were about the same.
