I'll have you know that reading The Art of War in 3 different languages and watching youtube videos, though never actually reading, Karl Von Clausewitz's On War has made me a great Planetside player.
Things I have learned, such as the fact that 1 cart of the enemy's supplies is worth 10 of mine, or that Prussian success in the Franco Prussian war can, in large part be attributed to the fact that, whereas French railroads ran north to south, Prussian railroads ran east to west. These pieces of knowledge are directly applicable in Planetside.
I think we can all agree on my adapted paraphrasing of Clausewitz that "Planetside is the continuation of politics through other means".
Git gud or git got. All warfare is based on deception, fagbag.
This comment is just the video description for those who seem to never read them.
Connery pickup is a community of veteran players from different factions, servers, and nationalities banding together to lead public platoons and get shit done. The aim is to improve the quality and quantity of fights as well as the server culture as a whole. Players come from all over connery and are not all in one outfit but they squad up with each other and work together to reach new players, break stalemates, cap tough bases, and help whatever faction is struggling.
If you are interested in helping with these public platoons and operations, here is the teamspeak address we use: connerypickup.ts.nfoservers.com

>Wow you're right they must have slammed that door so hard I ended up in Florida!
So your argument is "it's working right so I'm so smart." Good luck with that:

Now maybe you're one of the guys who've setup their own private proxy in the states. Or maybe you're using a DNS hack like SmartDNS, but those are getting systematically detected and shutdown also - it just a matter of time. Most people aren't going to go through the trouble. And that's fine; even when you cast a wide net, you're not trying to catch every fish in the sea.
But, like I said, it doesn't matter anyway. The barbarians aren't at the gate, they're already in the city. No, region locking wouldn't have kept them ALL out, but would have thinned the numbers considerably - and that would have been the best any of us on The Home Team could have hoped.
;)
Also personally don't find "retard" derogatory, but can understand why americans do.
To me something that is "retarded" is to retard something, eg to limit its ability (like not enough fuel is retarding an engine):

Its like how you Americans love to call people bundles of sticks ... weird man ... weird.
Nope. These and many other books were required reading for me in order to earn my rather expensive college degree. Books such as: "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu (aka Sun Zi, aka Sun Wu when he was a child, possibly the greatest and most comprehensive reference volume regarding most if not all forms of strategy, military sciences and doctrine); There is also "Infantry Attacks" aka "Infanterie Greift An" by Field Marshall Irwin Rommel (Essentially a first-person narrative based on his exploits during WWI and what was at the time innovative and emergent German military doctrine. The book was published between WWI and WWII, making Rommel to some extent an international celebrity and the book allegedly the favorite military reference volume for at least one young West Point cadet and future US Army General George S. Patton -- Rommel's future opponent and nemesis during WWII); There is "On War" aka "Vom Kriege" by Carl von Clauswitz (utilizing the campaigns of Frederick the Great and Napoleon as frames of reference for his work); There is "The Soldier's Load and the Mobility of a Nation" by S.L.A. Marshall (a study of US military doctrine during WWII, as well as an indirect, universal and rather poignant critique of human frailty and weakness) as well as all books, studies, papers and speeches by US Army General and future US President Dwight D. Eisenhower (to include his Farewell Address) to name but a few of what are now incidental and generally forgotten books that still clutter my library and brain. Here is one of my favorite quotes on military doctrine: "You must not fight too often with one enemy, or you will teach him all your art of war." -- Napoleon Bonaparte.
It has been my belief for months that VS command strategy and tactics has relied not only on their characteristic mobility but a policy of and primarily emphasis on focused assaults and extensive use of forward observers. In this instance, a VS field commander may have lost track of enemy movement and over-committed forces in too many places, thus unable to pull troops to close the breach in their front. It appears to me that, when VS assemble so many troops in one place for "tip of the spear" assaults, they also have to leave other bases poorly defended temporarily along both NC and TR fronts. On Connery, VS commanders appear to have been doing a good job of gathering intel and rapidly redeploying their forces en mass (both offensively and defensively) for the last 6-8 months, so this instance appears to be an anomaly. The ability to skillfully and dynamically allocate forces to each of the strategic areas along a frontier can make an opponent appear strong everywhere. Maybe some of the VS have been studying Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". During this alert, I suspect that, once NC broke through a crossing point along the NC-VS front, NC may have been able to push the lane behind it for an extended period of time by blitzing poorly defended or unoccupied bases deep inside VS territory. It seems like a page out of "Infantry Attacks" by Field Marshall Erwin Rommel. Great work.
