I really like my Swagman 2" bike rack that is the tray style as opposed to holding the bike by the middle. I believe it can also accomodate 1 1/4" hitches and can collapse to the side (with no bikes on it) for trunk access. https://www.amazon.com/Swagman-XTC2-Hitch-Bike-Rack/dp/B001DMJPLO/
I would also recommend looking on Facebook Marketplace, I see listings fairly often in my area. It may be worth keeping an eye if you have a specific budget in mind.
Increasing hitch classes doesn't increase anything on that vehicle other than the size of the mount, so I'd recommend you stick with the OE hitch if you're comfortable with it and use a hitch adapter on it.
An additional benefit is the OE 1.25" hitch doesn't protrude down below the rear valance panel as much as a 2" will.
I purchased these, the dealership said it was basically the same ones they sell but unbranded. Got them for our 2020 forester as well.
I got the Swagman XTC2 Tilt. They are made by a Canadian company in BC. Half the price of a Thule or Yakima. Quality is great, has good reviews. If you're in the US, price is even better due to exchange rate Here is the Amazon Canada link. https://www.amazon.ca/Swagman-XTC2-Tilt-Platform-Receiver/dp/B07X4C1KP9/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=swagman+tilt&qid=1626800730&sr=8-1
This rack is a beast! I love it so much, but I was having issues mounting my traction boards. Ended up getting the extension and it works awesome!

So I originally had a rexing pro and it was too thick and clunky looking so I found a good deal on a “vantrue N2” which I love. Very good quality during the day and night and it has a rear facing camera. The mount I used for the camera is this one :::>. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FTRRPTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T3M9ZA6AN7GD6P0B3HMM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Installing it was a breeze. The kit is plug-and-play and if you don’t feel comfortable enough doing it yourself any decent auto-electric shop can install it for like $40. I specifically love the Mirror mounted attachments because they are behind the line of sight for the “eye sight “ system and overall look allot cooler/cleaner inside. I ended up mounting both my radar and camera on my mirror and it is perfect for me. It was a bit tight but a little “jimmying” here and there you’ll be good! Let me know if you have any other questions about that I’ll gladly help you out.
Regarding the tints I added 20% to the back to make it “limo” tint. To the front I did 15%. I like it a little darker then most. I ordered wind guards so that’ll be the next thing I install. Then lift and wheels 🤤🤤
Edit: this is the plug-and-play hardwire kit for the dashcam. Very easy to install or very cheap to have installed.

After hunting the internet for screens, those seem like the best ones for the job where you can roll the window with no issues. Hope that helps.
Has anyone else removed the logo?
I think I'm going to have to do this. My dealer gave me a silicone sleeve to put my fob in. The cover they gave me, has a cutout for the subaru unlock button, which essentially raises the other buttons releative to the unlock button. I like your idea better though, as the silicone cover sticks to the inside of my pocket.

High beam/ DRLs: SYLVANIA - 9005 SilverStar Ultra (Halogen)
I have noticed a good deal of controversy regarding the use of LEDs in a halogen housing. I figured I’d give these bulbs a shot and take them out if I noticed they were aiming too high or had a poor cut off. I have spent a good amount of time driving with them and have never once been flashed. Comparing the cut off of these LED low beams and fog lights with stock halogens it was nearly identical. Visibility is far improved and the yellow fog lights are fun and functional. You can get away with running LEDs for your DRL/high beam but you would have to do a harness that would change the DRL to your turn signal to prevent hyper blinking or just always run with your low beams on until you need to use your high beams. I chose instead to go for an improved halogen bulb for the high beam and it functions well. Not the clean crisp color of LEDs but it is an improvement over the stock bulbs. That is my two cents but I’m sure there are better options out there, this is just what has worked for me thus far. Good luck!
Hah! Caught me in the middle of commenting exactly this :)
The roof rails are the Brightlines Aero cross bars
On top of which sits a Thule Motion XT L
Did not snap a side shot, but it's dark where I live right now and she's nestled in the garage so I can't get a good one until tomorrow, likely.
If you look at it from the side, it looks like it pokes over the front of the car, but I cannot see it from the driver's seat. Noise-wise, I definitely noticed some extra noise driving at highway speeds, but if I have music on like I usually do and am not actively looking for noise, I can't hear anything extra.
One thing I did want to call out is that the Motion XT L is about 17" high, so I had concerns about whether or not it would fit in my garage (She lives in a tiny detached garage in my complex) . Turns out she does, but I only have about 2" of clearance below my garage box, so do your measurements beforehand!
>ed than removing door cards and applying sound deadening on the inside of the door skins. Start with the floor, you're just unclipping trim and putting sound deadening under the carpet.

I actually use the Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner and Conidtioner Kit. Works great.
Just a PSA to everyone on the fence about getting the >$100 auto start stop eliminator often shared in this subreddit, there's now a way cheaper alternative that does not require you to open up the eyesight area. I found this on amazon for the Forester but I can confirm works with the crosstrek:
I'd look into aftermarket TPMS kits like this. You can get ones that sync with your phone or with a small LCD screen that comes with their kit. These will be a lot cheaper than trying to find one to work with the Subaru computer. Less integrated but far easier and cheaper.
I love my Carlinkit. I even take it on trips to use in rental cars.
Here's the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P1GWQDB
The price fluctuates like crazy, but there's currently a $43 off coupon.
Once you've got it connected, be sure to update the firmware. You can do that by opening http://192.168.50.2 on your phone while connected to the device. You may need to repeat the update process until there's no more updates to apply.
I second Peak Design phone cases but I am not a fan of their magnetic mount. I am currently using this:

This one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09W8G48GR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It was relatively inexpensive. It can be a tiny bit slow and it was a slight lag, but I really don't mind it.
Already have something similar to subietrays from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YKBWWWN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Haven't found something like the one on Etsy on Amazon yet.
I bought oem rubber mats for my Limited and they were just ok. Recently got these from Amazon and they are awesome! Great fit all over. Coverage on the driver side is significantly more than oem, primarily in the pedal area (where the oem had actually started curling down at that top “tab”).
I just got this one for my 23 Limited. It fits well and matches the stitching in the leather.
A friend has a mattress from HeyTrip that seems pretty comparable so far. Only downside is it doesn’t come with the cubes to fill the space between the front and back seats like the Luno does. You can buy those separately from Luno directly which is what he did.

Awning for hatchback.
The one thing I figured out was that with the front seats are moved up and chairs backs leaning to the dash are you will need to fill the void created/footwells.
With the awning attached and the hatch open you will have a lot more leg room, especially with your head toward the tailgate.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TTRHBSV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
As it turned out they have a slight memory foam-like feel to them and now I find my lower back is more comfortable when driving! I realize mileage may vary with this but figured I'd throw it out there...
Also should be noted that the covers have rubbery nubs on that back which I would be wary of using on the startex or leather seats. I'd worry they could damage them (plus those seats are too pretty to cover up!)
I use a runner’s towel thing that zips closed over the headrest. It’s not exactly like the link, but close enough that my functionally illiterate description makes a little sense: https://www.amazon.com/Dri-Seats-Waterproof-Seat-Cover/dp/B07TV7DQQJ

For beach cruisers, and just beach cruisers, I'd probably look for a cheap non-platform hitch rack like these: https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Sports-Locking-Release-Carrier-dp-B078YN9MXJ/dp/B078YN9MXJ/ref=dp_ob_title_sports?th=1

Most of the fancier racks don't like big bikes and really don't like fenders. I used the 4-bike Allen for my cheapo MTBs that were pretty much for cruising.
(That Allen ez-load look interesting. Wonder if that'd work for cruisers.)
I got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071F82CYJ/ when I got my crosstrek. Coming from a sedan I was not used to have such precious trunk space. I was able to fit all of my emergency kit stuff, extra clothes, etc. all in this thing, and it takes up about a 1/3 of the space.
You'll need to get something like this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008C9YS0Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
You will replace the one that is under your steering column. Double check and email the vendor to see if this will work on yours, it should.
Regardless of whether or not you get that fixed, I would highly recommend these door handle protectors, they look really nice on my crosstrek and do their job well.

are you talking about the map/dome lighting LED upgrade? you can buy the whole bulb set on amazon for about $14. 'installing' them is, in my opinion, trivially easy. Look for DE3175 bulbs (and 194 bulbs for a license plate and trunk bulbs)

Not sure what you want your system to do but starlink sucks super bad, especially on that model year.
I would just replace your head unit with something that has Android auto and/or apple carplay, whichever flavor suits you .
I put an Alpine ILX 407 in my 2014 XV and never looked back.
You can retain steering wheel controls with a wiring harness.
If you're handy/comfortable with it you can pretty easily do the install yourself. Even if not, that head unit shouldn't be more than like $800 installed.
Congrats on the subie! I also am a recent new owner and I love Mia, ice silver '21 Limited. I would recommend the door handle protectors too.
Cheap, but handy.

Viofo A119V3. Had it for almost a month. Sitting right behind my rear view mirror with no obstruction of EyeSight.

I bought the hardwire kit for the parking mode. Records in 1080P, 1440P, 4K (upscaled 1440P and requires a firmware update but it still looks great).
Currently $100 with an included GPS module— it shows speed in the video as well as the longitude and latitude but if you want parking mode, you’d have to add the kit separately (~$15). There’s also a polarized lens option to mount over the sensor, but I haven’t done that. I watched some playback yesterday and it wasn’t a big enough issue to me. Seems pretty solid. I hope it lasts at least a few years. I recommend r/dashcam for any questions.
This is what i bought and love it. It works really well. HEABOLI 4K Dual Dash Cam Front... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LC93W66?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Just get a cheap tire cover and ratchet it down with something like this Rhino Rack Spare Wheel Strap (RSWS) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P4BKKNC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_506WQ391A86VJXZBN858?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Try Bar Keeper’s Friend. It’s great on our stainless steel pots and pans. This is what I run in my 2014 XV. I love mine and I believe it checks all your boxes. There are a couple wiring harnesses you can get to retain all your steering wheel controls - look it up on Crutchfield and they'll recommend all the install parts you'll need.
Ok. Thanks. I just ordered one and hope it’s the right one. I’ve only ever ordered USB C. I didn’t know if there were different types of A cables. Again, I’m very basic in my knowledge and learning. I’ve driven the same car since 2008. I’m old.
This is what I ordered:
3 Pack Apple MFi Certified iPhone Charger Cable, Apple Lightning to USB Cable Cord, 2.4A Fast Charging Apple Phone Long Chargers for iPhone 12/11/11Pro/11Max/ X/XS/XR/XS Max/8/7/6/5S/SE (3ft, White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095HN43CQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2A22X9C96AGC0DN6B1YT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
this one is what we have and we LOVE IT. 2 of us sleep comfortably, it’s long enough that you have room (head feet will not touch unless you’re probably 6’3”+)
Honestly looks like it's still covered in brake dust. Wheel and tire cleaner is nice but it's not aggressive enough to get a large amount of brake dust off at once.
If you want to stick in the Adams polishes family try this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BPGGSCW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_MC6MBDEHF7HJAKFTQ821?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have used it before with great results.
Rinse your wheel Apply a good amount of wheel cleaner Use a brush and lightly scrub away.
For what it’s worth, I went to the dealership yesterday and they fully replicated it using my blank brand new Iphone and apple cable. They’ve opened a case with Subaru Tech Line about it - it’s really ridiculous that they’re making everyone replicate it like it’s unique. The tech working on my car said that he has the same issue and that in his case it has gone away by using this cable: Amazon Basics Nylon USB-A to Lightning Cable Cord, MFi Certified Charger for Apple iPhone, iPad, Dark Gray, 3-Ft https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082T6DHB6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ES0Y0C7J289E2J1GF3DQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have one on order and will get it today. I also still have the open tech case with Subaru. Hang in there.
I bought this one. Wireless Charger for Subaru Forester 2019-2022,for Subaru Crosstrek Accessories 2018-2021,for Subaru Impreza Center Console Organizer Wireless Charging Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097HK552K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9X3R4TA7YHFSXFKVN7VE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

As a temp solution, I’ve used plastic window film that shrinks with heat so it’s crystal clear. (Cut out a piece of the film, slightly bigger than the window, and place double sided tape around the perimeter. Stick film around the edge of the window, then use a hair dryer to shrink the film until clear.)
