The DLL method, it would mean the mods can be placed outside the app and properly inside a folder, im hoping to do something like forge, but it would require 3000% more effort, forge was written using java and the code for minecraft was available this would need to call a custom dll which is the api and the dll would run the operation then convert it into assembly to call the methods inside assembly, its 100% possible but a hard process to make.
You would get the ASM/Assembly Mem-offset from the exe and inject our dll and then call the method from the dll.
It seems quite promising, but the hard part would be calling back into assembly, c++ offers a way to directly call assembly but it would be quite tricky.
Assembly inside c++ : Code Project Tut on using ASM inside C/C++ (this is what the api would use)
Side Note: I'm going to start decompiling Cube World into Callable functions tomorrow and ill stick up a github page for those curious.
I never really left though. Or gave up. It's just that my apprenticeship consumes more time that i'd love to. But i can assure: there'll be a new cw@ZNW client some day. I'm still building the user management and eco system. The 'new' client will come. Based on the 'latest' cw. And will again deliver a fast and fun cw multiplaying experience. There might be a webapp btw :P If you guys want to know what i'm building, check out my Glitch and github.
And sorry for being semi-ded. Being exhaused is a terrible state.
May the znw rise again!
It's doing pretty good. It's called Demon's Plague. It's a zombie apocalypse book, but unlike every other one it takes place in Medieval England instead of a modern / military setting. The zombies are heavily inspired by Max Brooks, no runners. I also did my best to avoid common tropes for the genre. Characters are intelligent, learn quickly how to handle the infected. And best of all, the story focuses on exactly zero children or babies.
It's available on Amazon now in digital and paperback and it's coming soon to bookstores.
Thing is, this is Wollay's first game. And instead of releasing Early Access / Alpha and update it by listening to the feedback of people to see what works and what's not, he just rolled with "what he wanted". Not a single game is made by a designer's "how they want it". You playtest, adjust, and playtest again. Game is nothing without a player, and w/e he's done to the game clearly shows that he didn't do something that is good.
People might like it and that's cool for them, but that doesn't justify the bad game design decisions he's made, not for a release and not for something that people pay $20 for.
More people make better and flashed out games on Itch.io and they don't get a dime. Wollay made more than $500k already. He has it so easy with the product that he has made, it's rediculous.
Portal Knights kept me interested for quite some time, feels very similar. http://gameslikefinder.com/games-like-cube-world/
Otherwise Trove and Planet Explorers are worth a look.
A lot of people are unhappy with the direction the game took away from the way it was in alpha. Personally, I'm having a lot of fun and expect to continue to do so for a while. I recommend what Stuie66 suggests: Go to https://cubeworld.com/ and read through the features listed there. If you like what you see, go for it. If not, then you have your answer. I think it's better to make up your own mind than put too much faith in day one reviews.
This forum doesn't allow anyone to even ask this, or post links to sites where you might find these sorts of things.
Google is your best friend, or a link in a Youtube video might bring you somewhere promising, make sure the video has a lot more thumb ups, than thumb downs and that the comments say "it works" or "thanks!" so you know you are not downloading something with a virus.
It might be a good idea to use a VPN(virtual private network) like TunnelBear since your ISP(Internet Service Provider) and potentially other 3rd parties are watching. (incognito mode on chrome is better than nothing in the least)

Sorry for being vague and slightly unhelpful I am trying to avoid anything that could get me in trouble :p
Yeah, one he decided to commercialize though :S If he was just eager to share it and had no financial prospect it should have been a hobby project like so many very good free itch.io games ! From the moment he commercialized it he should have listened to the community and stood by his promise to update, not for us, but for him too. Creating a project with ZERO source of feedback is always bad. It's why so many indies nowadays go with the free alpha format. Participate in the alpha freely, give us feedback, make the game better, all for free, but once the real games releases you still have to buy it. It's a win-win for everyone. it effectively serves as a demo and as a way to communicate with the devs for players, and is a great source of feedback and critical viewing for the devs !
y'all need to realize they never intended for this game to pop off either, it was 2 devs having fun on there spare time making a game they got overwhelmed this was never ment to be this big it was ment to be one of those indie game you have to use a weird launcher to play like itch.io no a main massive steam release
This means really bad things for the potential of, say, a fully functional release on itch.io or gog.com. Or cross-platform play if it comes to console.
Streamlined multiplayer is a good thing, but Steamworks is... a tumor on the industry tbh :/ Not blaming wollay for using it, since it's the easiest option, but we need some good alternatives to take away Steam's monopoly on platform features on PC.
That seems very hard to believe, my graphics card isn't integrated and it isn't intel. Here are the specifications for my laptop: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Refurbished+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%238482%3B+i7+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display/2070069.p;jsessionid=088F636DA94A0AA576DE29CEAD14FF96.bbolsp-app04-141?id=1218307909933&skuId=2070069&st=asus%20g73&cp=...
If you would want to use windows, 100% use bootcamp. It runs like windows would, smoothly and just like on a pc. Personally, before I did it I wiped my mac's harddrive, so I could allocate even amounts of space between mac and windows (128 gb for mac and 128 gb for windows, i have a small harddrive). If you look up tutorials on how to use bootcamp it is pretty easy, because it is a service that is provided by mac. Apple does not mind allowing you to install windows, and bootcamp is provided to help you do that. The only thing is that if you accidentally fuck up the installation, it can lose the data from your harddrive, so make sure you BACK UP EVERYTHING BEFORE USING BOOTCAMP But, I have been using windows for a few months now, and it feels like the same smooth windows 7 I had on my other PC. And when installed correctly, no, it will not crash or blue screen your mac. You will just have 2 operating systems, and it will allow you to choose which operating system to use at start up by holding the alt key. When you get it working correctly though, it works great.
EDIT: This is nice understanding of it, straight from apple's website: https://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/, but if this does not make sense for installation, youtube videos are always the most helpful source. Just make sure you have another device to watch it on while you are turning your mac off and on.

Holy shit it's the man himself! I did download from Nexus, and it just told me to contact the author of the mod (which is obv not them on Nexus, because its just been reupped) and I honestly don't know why I downloaded them from Nexus, it's just the best resort if I can't find the real source for mods. Alright, thanks bud love ya!
Edit: Does it need to be .dll or .cwmod? It only loads the only .dll file I have in the mods folder, and that is Monk Class
Edit 2: Figured it out, no worries
Go to https://cubeworld.com/ and scroll all the way to the bottom. Send an email to them about your situation and hope for the best. They seem to be somewhat existing as people on the steam forum where able to get some form of help....though your mileage may vary.
On the cubeworld.com website, it says that.
>Combos
>
>Subsequent attacks increase your combo counter, allowing you to ignore more and more armor of your enemy and dealing more damage.
Technically more damage, but not really.
You are making this out to be some huge thing, and wow, you do a great job selling it. I ask you right now, what lies are you referring to? Are you saying I'm telling lies? Someone else is lying? Wollay is lying? Because I am certainly not lying, about literally anything. Not sure how you could possibly get that from my comment.
When I said like WHAT, I meant I was incredibly shocked at your ridiculous analogy, not literally asking for examples of anything. You also say he's "acting like complete utter asshole" but he hasn't said anything to anyone. How does that work?
You then say that he lied, and are assuming he's lying again. What exactly has he lied about? Is the problem that he doesn't communicate at all or is actively spreading misinformation and lying to people?
His blog was what was closed, and I don't believe that is "close multi-million-products website". Picroma.com is still there, but it's main purpose seems to be to refer to Cubeworld.com. But the website itself is certainly still there.
"The fucking big YES.
Communication is the reason why humanity still exists.
Communication is what made us being civilization.
Communication let us have all we have.
Refusing to communicate is a crime against us all."
Okay, well alright then. I can't honestly figure out if you're just 50/50 trolling and are angry at him or just really love over blowing things with these analogies. You're making comparisons to the entire reason humanity existing, civilization, etc. That has nothing to do with any of this. I also don't believe it's an actual crime, but I'm not versed in legal matters so I wouldn't truly know.
Me too, but from past experience we can clearly tell that communication isn't his strong point at all, would be surprised for thim to make a "news" page on cubeworld.com , but one can hope..?
He had very promising ideas that he posted over the years. But best thing we can do is just to forget about those since he removed all the features he had planned on the official Picroma site back then, and has now replaced them with the features you can find on https://cubeworld.com/ .
Sad really, but we don't know what he's got in future updates for us yet so I'm somewhat hopeful.
Thanks for asking about this as I didn't even remember what the website was. I still have my email from when I bought the game is 2013 but that link didn't work and tried to point me to cubeworld.com. After signing in I could download the game and use the steam key. Now, I can't wait to get home to play...
Well he got the domain cubeworld.com. We also got the mail before where he said: "Didnt find the time to play Dragons Dogma yet"(Mail 26.01.2019) But suddenly (Mail 6.3.2019) "Im looking forward to check out Dragons Dogma (on Switch my favorite console at the moment)" And the mail last Friday "Sorry no ETA for the release yet."
The first time he answered to a release question?
He is looking forward to play it ? (He got time now ?)
But no ETA just means no exact time.
There is always a chance (seemingly higher atm with the website and DragonsDogma Tease) that Wollay will yeet the update finally onto the servers this year.
Btw sorry for bad English :)
Well, I hope so! If for no other reason than because Hytale is aiming for release in 2020!
But if you are referring to Cubeworld somehow being in competition with Hytale, I don't see that. They are very different games. Hytale's scope, feature list, ambition and flexibility is on a whole other level than anything we've seen out of Cubeworld. Not to knock Cubeworld, particularly, it's just comparing apples to oranages.
A year back it was a landscape rendering engine and not much more, they've since added network play, an always updating test server, persistent character progression, crafting, gliders and a basic dungeon looting gameplay loop. They're planning a major update baking in lots of small improvements on the 15th. https://veloren.net/devblog-79
"We currently combine this with three other algorithms. The first is tectonic uplift. This is relevant over large timescales"
https://veloren.net/devblog-43/
There's another post on it too. Oh, and I never said you simulated them, I said you were looking into implementing them.
Omg gitlab not github!? I said coding!? Holy fuck you detective you! See how you want to argue semantics and misrepresent me constantly? Yeah. Because you know what I'm saying is true.
I don't care to argue anymore. Have fun with your pet project.

We provide pre-compiled builds for Mac now, although we've not got the launcher out for it yet. Try out 0.6.0 if you'd like, it only released a few days ago. It's also possible to get nightlies, but less obvious.
> Mr Wolfran von Funck (aka wollay) is a professor in germany, works/worked with research
Where does this suddenly come from? What proof do you have that this Wolfram von Funck is our Wollay? I highly doubt a professor would be interested in writing a cutesy little voxel game. Professors are incredibly busy people whose lives are often consumed by their research, no way they'd have the time to devote on a project like this.
Also also, the Wolfram on semantic scholar hasn't published anything since like 2011, which in itself is very unusual for a professor.
Am I being whooshed?
I have been trying since 5PM yesterday... Refreshing every once in a while (1-1.5 houres apart)
On the positive side, I finally finished reading the English translation of The Art of War by Sun-Tzu... You can always trust game devs to make you learn something, whether it is through gameplay or the lack thereof.
