You're making a statement about my motivations, which you cannot know. People do this through psychological projection - when you do this, you're saying nothing about my motivations and everything about your own motivations, so be careful with that.
Anyway, I'll give an example, and you can accept it or reject it. I don't care, because it's reasonable as fuck.
If I am talking about evolution in a scientific way, and my interpretation of the literature is being challenged by someone who I suspect is informed primarily by the bible rather than the science, rather than ask a series of questions like, "Are you a Christian? Are you a Bible literalist? Do you believe the Bible's version of history is more authoritative than scientists' version?" I could simply ask "Are you a Creationist?" and infer the answer to all of those questions to high precision. Their ideology tells me a lot about their beliefs (e.g. humans did not evolve from other life forms) and epistemology (e.g. the Bible is the most authoritative scientific source) which are useful in dealing with those challenges. It is useful to realize that scientific evidence won't be compelling to this person and so I can avoid wasting my time in that way, and it is useful in deciding whether or not to dismiss that person entirely, as dismissing an argument out of hand is absolutely sometimes the most reasonable course of action.
the problem is how to ensure that this is the case, when often people aren't even aware of their own biases.

> "it's impossible to determine someone's preferences by sex in the first place" as you wrote, is a completely false statement and disinformation. Please read here the research data that you are attempting to deny. The validity of your beliefs and your tactics of disseminating unfounded skepticism are equivalent to those of the flat-earth cult. There are two innate sexes and they create in the vast majority two innate and distinct types of sexuality.
