Lawnchair 2 is really good too, altho it hasn't been updated in a while.
Edit: Oh, Omega is a fork of Lawnchair 2, great, I'll try it out.

This can be done in Nova.
Dive into Nova's settings, go to Gestures and Inputs.
The top option is Home button. Tap this then select "App search" as the action. Optionally tick "Only on main home page" if you'd still like the home button to take you to the main page of your launcher first.
If you want to super-charge the app search, install Sesame which can integrate into the Nova app search to also include contacts and various app shortcuts:

If you miss Evie you might want to try this app. Using this I have Evie set to lock the display when double tapping the home screen.
Here's the link Just like OP said, it's an impostor, a cheap, ugly and barely functional copy filled with ads after every screen. Please report it, it should be taken down from the store.
I didn't realize it was shut down. A couple months ago I realized that it was no longer being maintained and no updates were going to be released so I switched launchers to Nova Launcher. I, too, had been using Evie for several years, but since it was no longer being updated, I started having issues and was forced to look for something else, unfortunately. I loved every feature and every other aspect of Evie and am still sad and upset and disappointed it was abandoned. The closest launcher app I've found so far is Nova. It doesn't have everything Evie had and it's just not the same and I doubt anything will ever satisfy me, but it will do, I suppose. Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher. Try it out and decide for yourself. If you find another launcher that is closer to Evie or better than Nova, please comment back and let me know so that I, too, may enjoy it. Thank you. And good luck.
according to their Google play store details I don't thunk they are currently working on any update. Their last update came on June 13, 2019.
Find and manage backups
Open the Google Drive app.
Tap Menu > Backups.
Tap on the backup you want to manage.
What happens when your backup expires
Your backup will remain as long as you use your device. If you don't use your device for 2 weeks, you may see an expiration date below your backup.
Example: "Expires in 54 days."
I stumbled onto the perfect App, Today Weather. One of the widgets shows the date and temp. Click the date and your calendar opens, the weathe, and the App opens.
Hey! Interesting question, I tried to do this on a Pixel right now and was able to pin the parallel app on the home screen. I had to grant the needed permissions to Parallel Space (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.parallel.intl.arm64) and then was able to create a shortcut on the home screen. See the details below for my device and OS as well as app I used. Which device/OS are you using? Did you grant the needed permissions? If you've done both of those, maybe try using a diff app?

Device: Pixel
OS: Android P
App: Parallel Space 64 bit
