You can buy it off iTunes in HD for $20, or you can watch it on youtube for $3. I think you'll just be renting it though, since it's cheap. Amazon Video will also let you buy it and stream it for $20.
If you just want to download an actual file, then torrent it (maybe you'll get a file with iTunes also, I don't know). If you don't know how to torrent, then buy it.
First calculate your TDEE. This shows how many calories you have to eat to maintain your weight. Take that number and subtract 300 from it. Then use a calorie calculator and keep track of everything that you eat and drink and keep the calories at the number you came up with when you subtracted 300 from your TDEE. Every time you drop 10 pounds recalculate your TDEE and adjust.
If you do this you will lose weight, but you have to be honest with yourself about it. Did you drink a coke today that you forgot to put in? Did you really only eat one serving of cereal this morning? Filling up your bowl isn't a serving, the cereal box tells you what it considers a serving to be. Did you measure out one cup of milk? It's easy to he dishonest with yourself, and you'll only shoot yourself in the foot and end up upset or frustrated. Weight is not a magic thing. It is literally just a question of how many calories do you eat a day vs how much you burn. If you eat more than you burn you gain weight. Of you burn more than you eat you lose weight. Stick to what I posted above and stay honest with yourself and you can safely and comfortably make your way to your goal weight, whatever that may be.
Uhhh... Vocaloid and Japanese music (don't make fun of me okay). If you don't know what I'm talking about this is vocaloid, and this is a primary example of just how realistic they can get.
Other than that, I really like to listen to Lindsey Stirling's music. Her stuff really helps me think and come up with ideas for my stories. I listen to and like a couple songs from other bands, but I just don't have as much of it, and the above are my first choices.
I forgot about Nightwish. I like Nightwish too. Their stuff is pretty awesome for thinking about my stories.
No prompts, but if you haven't I highly recommend reading Bird by Bird. It's a great little book about writing and life. The author has some great ideas for little writing exercises for days like today, plus some touching stories that anyone who has gone through hard times will appreciate.
Oooh, didn't even read yet, and all ready I'm going nuts. The master of imagery, Stephen King talks imagery? Count me in. Have you ever read his writing manual/memoir, On Writing? It's pretty awesome.
I'll be reading this when I get home, thanks a ton! I have On Writing but haven't started it yet. I'm finishing a book on the geo-political history of Afghanistan which I'm going to use as inspiration for my book I want to write, On Writing is up next followed by rereading Orson Scott Card's book on writing (which I forget the name of).
Woah, good question. I believe that everything happens for a reason. There's no randomness or free will in the world.
If I flip a coin or throw a dice with the same movement and the same strength every time, I'll always get the same result.
The same thing applies to humans and our behaviour. Our thoughts, feelings and everything are just chemical reactions and there's nothing non-deterministic about chemistry that I know of.
As a consequence, everything that happens is supposed to happen in the first place.
Fun fact, when people are asked to say a random number, most people will say 13 or 17 or 19, because they feel random. Humans are really predictable.
I suggest you read "The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins and "Predictably Irrational" by Dan Ariely.
Star Wars Clone Wars, I hated the CG film so I never gave the show the time of day. Stupid of me.
The Witcher games, I have an unbelievable hype for 3 which releases next year.
Bird by Bird, an enchanting little book about writing. At least it's supposed to be about writing, but I think it's really about life.
East of West, seriously, in my eyes Hickman can do no wrong when it comes to writing comics. This is my favorite of his works to date. The sci-fi old West thing is cool, and only made more amazing by the religious focus and the horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Ah, FTL is great. I only managed to win it in "easy" until now.
If you like a good and emotional story: To the Moon - Like to solve some entertaining puzzles? Portal1/2 - Good atmosphere, story and zombies can be found in The Walking Dead - Looking for multiplayer games? Awesomenauts! for example.
Btw, you could sometimes take a look at the humblebundle; if you pay at least 1$ you'll also get Steam keycodes.
My aunt died almost 4 years ago, needless to say, that was one of the hardest things I've ever been through. I was out of school for a week and didn't tell my friends for nearly 4 months. She was planning to go to a funeral and she took a nap on her couch and she never woke up. We didn't think that she would never show up for that funeral or that we would be holding one for her later that week. She was 63, she wasn't necessarily in bad health, but she wasn't in the greatest of health.
Driving home just a few days later and this song came on & I just couldn't hold the tears back.
It's a great article, let me know what you think! On Writing is brilliant. You're going to find a lot of helpful tips in it! Orson Scott Card also has some great writing books, some of which are genre specific. I haven't read all of them, but I'm sure they are all great! Also, best of luck on that book! Is this something you are hoping to publish?
I am in the process of reading both The Republic and The Prince, and they're excellent books, indeed.
I would also recommend
The Constitution of the United States (and selected writings of the Founding Fathers) such as the edition in this link
The Art of War by Sun Tzu
The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels
Inside The Third Reich by Albert Speer, the former Minister of Armaments and War Production of NSDAP Germany and foremost architect to Adolf Hitler. It gives a good depiction of what fascism did to Germany and is the best book on the inside workings of the NSDAP
And basically any book that would be a collection or introduction into politics and philosophy and which contains examples and detailed explanations on different political and philosophical thoughts.
EDIT: Forgot 1984 and Animal Farm by Orwell, somehow.
Yep! On Writing is simply brilliant. I've read it four or five times just to be sure I've got everything. I keep it and The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White on my desk when I'm working!
