To drive back to Florida I think you need to take the us-26. There's cams if anyone knows how to get archived footage we should be able to get a timestamp on the van.
If you poke around on wunderground.com they did get quite a bit of rain before the 17th. The reserve was already flooding in parts when BL went in.
Based on where he was found he almost certainly killed himself on the 13th. The parents gave a number of areas he could be to LE and it’s not clear which ones they searched on the 13th and 14th. I also suspect those searches were a lot of calling his name because they didn’t suspect he’d killed himself.
So you’re going to correct someone without even checking to determine if you are correct or not?

Transcript of Cassie Laundrie interview from in front of her house (full 18 minute clip from earlier stickied post).
I've matched the first 2+ minutes with speakers. It's really tedious because these people keep cutting in and interrupting Cassie. If you really feel like you need to rest of it matched I'll do it, but otherwise you should be able to get the gist of it. I've highlighted key parts.
It's very hot in Sarasota area in September. The low temperatures the week Brian went missing ranged from 76 to 78 degrees F. Comfortable for shorts and T-shirt at night.

The rainfall record for North Port is interesting. Looks like 1 inch of rain on 9/15 and a little over 1 inch on 9/22. So the park probably wasn’t flooded when he entered on 9/13 but probably did flood on 9/15. What day was it that his parents retrieved the car and ostensibly also looked for him? If on/after 9/15 then it would make sense how they didn’t manage to find him then
You can find the transcript here.
Also here's a google doc of the transcript
Weather history for NP (Punta Gorda). There was a decent amount of rain on 9/15 and 9/22. So that kind of fits the "water covering up the remains" story if he took his own life sometime around then. Not as much rain in Oct it seems.

i've been meaning to read this book that i was getting recommended on reddit a long time ago, i think it's finally time that i read it https://www.amazon.com/Gift-Fear-Survival-Signals-Violence/dp/0440226198
So I'm still reading through your linked study, which is interesting, but looking at historical weather data, it looks like while the 27th and 28th were pretty mild, the following days were well into the 80s.
https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/grand-teton-national-park/83013/august-weather/29983_poi
You're right! I was looking for a change on the sliding door. Yes, something seems to happen at the back barn doors while the van is first in view. My Transit Connect has a rear liftgate so I didn't think about one rear door being open by itself.
It would also explain why personal belongings are left just outside the back doors. If someone is there, they probably closed the door to make it look unoccupied. This could be simply Gabby staying mostly inside the van and not wanting to be spotted as an alone female.
I always have my roof vent open when I'm inside and their vent is closed in this video. The weather that day was about 70 degrees and it would be stuffy inside without any doors or windows open.

Based on the weather forecast, I don’t think she was too decomposed. But I believe her body should’ve went through black purification, which would’ve been difficult to ID her tattoos.. https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/grand-teton-national-park/83013/august-weather/29983_poi
It rained on the 15th, on most of the subsequent days, and there was a large amount of rain on the 20th. https://www.wunderground.com/history/monthly/us/fl/punta-gorda/KPGD/date/2021-9.
Punta Gorda appears to be the nearest station with historical info available, but, long story short, it began raining a day or two into his "hiking" trip into the reserve, and continued for a week.
I was able to find some archival traffic video on this site: https://www.windy.com/?37.073,-92.285,5
However, for videos older than 24 hours, there is only one frame per day. Would be a longshot...
This webcam does appear to be a more decent shot of where they would have been more likely to enter the park, near the West entrance to Yellowstone.

no problem, here’s an example
That’s a Floridian’s perspective lol. It’s not dry for anyone else. In fact, the location had an average dew point of 75 throughout the month of September — that’s very humid no matter how you look at it. https://www.wunderground.com/history/monthly/us/fl/venice/KVNC/date/2021-9
Additionally, NOAA categorizes anything above 65 as “oppressive” https://www.weather.gov/arx/why_dewpoint_vs_humidity
So please come correct if you’re going to get snappy. Just because that is YOUR subjective opinion it does not make it reality. It may be drier than some months to you, but the numbers don’t lie.
There was a rainstorm coming through the state that week. I looked up the data and there was a flash of rain in the afternoon which could correspond to the video of her with (a possibly) bruised face in her video. Just another observation to add to the list as I can't independently corroborate dates here.

So this will seem kind of dumb, but I really liked this on Amazon a few years ago. So I bought it, & put it up for the first time today post- Gabbys case. & it hit me like a ton of bricks ?? Almost eerie. Seems fitting I would open Reddit and see her. It’s so so sad.
Everything about it reminded me of her- the mountains, river, beautiful flowers— and of course, her favorite song.
It’s been reported as raining on the 13th and 14th. Which I said it was rising not that it was entirely flooded which can be easily seen here that it was raining those days and there probably was an accumulation of water in the reserve at that point.
They only have one pic from each day, any way to get the archived cams from each of these spots?
Well this is a very mature and reasonable statement. I'm on the naive side though and really really like to believe I changed someone's mind haha.
I keep asking myself though "why do you go back if it bothers you so much?" For some reason I can't stop. Maybe I am fascinated with how much someone can reach/assume.
This book sums it all up, I would definitely recommend it.

I own basically the same thing.
It's pretty common for hikers.
When I was trying to figure out what was on his back, it reminded me of this pizza carrier that one of the delivery places by us uses. Imagine if he was just out there riding along with a bunch of pizzas on his back. Picking up a few hot and readys every time he rolls through a new town.

Casey Anthony was acquitted for a few reasons:
1) the jury pool was a bunch of uneducated people because they only way to find jurors who hadn’t heard of the case was to find people who had no friends who discussed the news and also didn’t read the news or use the internet
2) a jury is told the case has to be “beyond a reasonable doubt” to convict - but Casey’s lawyer confused the hell out of them by presenting multiple implausible scenarios (Caylee died in the pool, Casey’s nanny did exist and she took her, the dad did it, Casey was molested by her father and suffers mental torment) - all of this without any evidence to back it up - but it was enough to confuse the jury enough for them to say the evidence did not lead to “beyond a reasonable doubt”
There’s a book by Jeff Ashton (prosecutor in the Anthony case) it’s called Imperfect Justice and it outlines all the chaos of how that case fell apart when the whole country knows exactly who did it.
A couple extra replacement filter straws are small. Keep them in a case and backwash them often. They wont last the advertised 3,000 liters (792 gallons) but you can get more than half that purification easily with basic care. A human male only needs about 3.7 liters of water a day.

I read this bookabout Chris Watts and the author did an amazing job explaining the depth of NPD!! There is a huge danger in labeling any jerk as a narcissist.. because it waters down the threat of real NPD.
I wish.
I've just found them very sufficient in most scenarios at an entry level price point.
Feel free to spend $200 for a...largely comparable product.
I'm sure ol Jeffy would appreciate you spending more.

I'd say AT LEAST half my neighbors/people in my general area have some sort of security camera(s).
I find it hard to believe that nobody on the Laundries street (or along the route(s) they'd (he'd?) have traveled has any footage.
Cameras can solve crimes, provide you a irrefutable alabi, deter crime/identify criminals, and save fucking lives.
You can get a WYZE Cam v3 with Color Night Vision, Wired 1080p HD Indoor/Outdoor Video Camera, 2-Way Audio, Works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT for $30 on Amazon. Why WOULDN'T YOU have one??
True Crime Rocket Science has a video covering THE PSYCHOLOGICAL Life Of Brian. He’s very compelling with his concise and thoughtful analysis of this case.
I feel like I’m sitting in a college lecture and he’s my professor! He’s so articulate with his explanations. Sharing in case anyone else is interested and likes this sorta stuff 😊
Only con: The closeness of his hands to the camera kinda freaks me out but I’m trying not to focus on it. 🥸
I also bought the book The Birth and Death of Meaning: An Interdisciplinary Perspective on the Problem of Man he’s referencing. It sounds amazing!
There are a variety of solar chargers out there. I would not be surprised if among the many images of their trips in to the woods that one might be visible in them.

That happens a lot in the Rockies, high steep rocky terrain and unstable weather. You start the trail it’s 80 & sunny but mid way to the summit it’s 50 and windy/snow flurries. This quick on set leaves a lot of hikers unprepared, they get lost, disoriented, fall/injure themselves and then die from exposure.
I grew up not far (30 minutes) from Mount Whitney (the tallest mountain in the lower 48. I was always told when hiking large mountains (12,000ft +) always be prepared for variable weather conditions because in the Sierras things can change in minutes.
The best advice I ever got was if you go Mountaineering, Backpacking or Hiking anywhere alone INVEST in a PLB a personal locator beacon they run off GPS and satellite coordinates expensive but they allow you to directly contact search and rescue in places cell phones don’t. Yes they can be expensive $300-700 but if this something you do regularly it’s worth the investment because it can save your life!

I grew up in a very restrictive home with zero privacy and as a teenager, I really think this made my mind go a bit wonky coming up with what I would do if I actually had normal tee freedom. That internal monologue is what worries me because I remember what I was thinking... then I went hog wild until my late 20s... sooooo.... yeah, I’m a bit nervous.
Their minds at both ages are astonishingly similar, though. Very valid point! At least I can just pick mine up and pop him in the play yard and walk away when necessary... for now.
Of course this is the play yard I bought... whoever designed this never had kids. I didn’t realize how the holes were just going to be like rock climbing wall foot holds until it was too late! He couldn’t stand yet when I bought it facepalm
I wedge stuffed animals in the holes now and that seems to slow him down for the time being...
Psychopath Free is a good resource if you have the ability to purchase a book on the subject.
It's probably marking paint. It sprays inverted (upside down) instead of at an angle. It's only widely available in a handful of colors, and likely being used to mark areas that have been searched or locations of evidence.
Also highly recommend Psycopath Free by Jackson MacKenzie.
It helped me see what was happening when I couldn’t make sense of anything.

Why Does He Do That? by Lundy Bancroft - The best book for understanding abusive men and how and why they operate.
He might survive if he finds a spot to hold up near a fruit farm. There are some orchards nearby. For water he might have a survival water filter.
My camp shower is just a shower head and a pump, it stores in a small bag that fits into the collapsible bucket I use for the water. I camp out of an SUV with far less space than their van. It doesn’t take much to carry a gallon or two of water in the back of a van.
Idk. Of course I don’t know for sure but I would just find it interesting if they didn’t have a way to shower at their campsite since many of us who camp out of our vehicle learn on the very first trip that we need a place to shit and a place to shower and everything else is whatever. I feel like most van lifers have a shower even if it’s not a whole stand up shower with a massive water tank.
