This may sound completely stupid and like a waste of time, but maybe try getting some flour and putting in random places. A thin layer on the kitchen counter , maybe at the doorway on a strip of aluminum foil. With the camera focused in enough to capture said areas and the surrounding areas too. Look, the "figure" only appears on the part of the wall that is LIT UP from a light coming down the stairs. Just at the very left edge there is something casting a shadow that is a little wavy, and from the angle it is less than halfway down the wall. Most likely it's a piece of furniture since it is close to the floor.

Considering the moving shadows are shorter than the furniture and the fact that the shadow looks exactly like a dog with a tail, and OP has small dogs that run around upstairs...

IR light is different than the normal spectrum light that we use to see. Technically you can't see an IR bulb or laser unless you have a special lens that covers your eyes or in this case camera that enables you to see in the dark with IR.

If you direct the light at the ground. Turn it on when it's dark. Wait 15 minutes. Moths will come by and be attracted to the light. Notice the shadow they produce on the ground.

Oh but the IR light isnt a flood light. Sure the wavelength isn't the same but the concept is. A tiny object, close to a light source, will cast a shadow. Also the fluttering and flickering along with the white orb stuff you see on the screen is dust and the moth that flew by the field of view.

These pantry moth pheromone traps are the best for catching those little fuckers! We had a huge infestation of them a few years back — I had a big bag of cornmeal in the back of my pantry that (unbeknownst to me) had ripped open, and we had HUNDREDS of moths. We did a savage clean-out of everything they could lay eggs on and now we always keep a few of the traps up to get any stray interlopers. Highly recommend!

You need to make sure it is using the magnetometer, remove any case the phone is in and put it on the bed and floor to see if you are getting small vibrations from that. Your bed could be amplifying vibrations in the house or an electronic device in the bedroom.

• What room were you in? - Not in a room. In the "green hallway" of the Thomas House.
