The last two performances were especially good. I don't see any reason to be worried, though. At least she didn't get injured THAT time lol.
http://www.whosampled.com/Grimes/ <-- Great site for information regarding sampling, incomplete in regards to Grimes though. Nightmusic isn't even listed there, and neither is Butterfly from her latest which samples this obscure Japanese song.
Whatever isn't available on whosampled I've read in random articles here and there over time :)
"...why Heartbeats got taken out?"
Heartbeats wasn't on the original release. It was added later. I keep this song separate from the album.
Your comment isn't entirely true. Not all cryptocurrencies are based off of a mining system. You're referring to Proof-of-Work (PoW) coins, which are the original style of crypto. However, many new coins now use other consensus methods, like Proof-of-Stake (PoS). This doesn't use mining, instead using a minimal amount of computing power. Instead of rewards being tied to how much work you did (aka mining), they're tied to how much of that cryptocurrency you own. There's more nuance to it, but that's the general idea.
Some popular cryptos, like Ethereum (which most NFTs are based off of) are moving from PoW to PoS right now. This should cut the power consumption by as much as 99.95%.
There are even more consensus mechanisms, like Proof-of-Useful-Work (PoUW). An example of this would be Banano, which pays you based on how much work you contribute to Folding@Home, a program which uses volunteer computing power to solve medical problems. Anyone who "mines" it is using their PC to help researchers find treatments for diseases like cancer, alzheimer's, and covid.
Thanks. The credit for the picture and sound quality goes to the site and the technical crew at Outside lands. #Kudos
The program I used is OBS https://obsproject.com/ /// http://i.imgur.com/SgRh4Be.jpg a free program mostly used by gamers when streaming to twitch or other sites, but it can also save to a MP4 h264 file instead of streaming.
It's best when used with a recent Nvidia video card, so that it can use the card's hardware encoding called NVENC. Obviously if one uses the program's x264 codec instead of NVENC, the CPU would need to be very powerful. I only have a Core2Duo but the computer dating back to 2009 can still capture in 1080p while playing a video game thanks to the NVENC of my GTX750ti bought 3 years ago.
EDIT: Hardware encoding is also possible with an Intel CPU featuring Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV)
Note: In a very near future, capturing live with h265 coding (HEVC, much more compressed than the actual AVC h264) will be the norm but it will for sure not be possible without hardware encoding, thus at the same time allowing 4k 8k 16k screen capture of videos in the future, with a reasonable file size for Ultra HD resolutions.
If you're looking for Grimes-related ways to practice French, you might also want to watch Juste la fin du monde (It's Only the End of the World), the only movie or TV show Claire has authorized to include music from her albums in the soundtrack. Unlike Suicide Squad, you actually hear the song too! I won't give away the context or which song. It's just a brief moment but super emotional. It is a really affecting movie, but it was controversial with critics (be prepared for an experimental visual style with lots of dialogue), however it eventually won the top awards in the Quebec and French film industry, and picked up a major award at Cannes too. The cast includes Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux. The director Xavier Dolan is a legend in his own right, pretty much the Grimes of cinema, and has already made 7 feature films at age 29.
They're pretty easy to find. Art Angels is a lot more understandable than her previous albums, so most lyrics will be correct. Genius.com has every single song from Art Angels lol.
I've done remixes of both Realiti and Crystal Ball which you can listen to as parts of my radio shows. Realiti is first song here: https://www.mixcloud.com/alex-williams12/lsradio-7-081215/ . Crystal Ball is last song here: https://www.mixcloud.com/alex-williams12/lsradio-15-260416/ . I'll happily pass you a download if you want it, they're just not online elsewhere atm :)
Thank you!! No I got the book off of Amazon! MEEYO Folding Book Lamp Wooden, Book Light, USB Rechargable Book Shaped Light ,3 Colors Led Table Lamp for Decor, Magnetic Design, Environmentally Material https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08QGVW33Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HM3M013C4100HVFXVVHN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 (here’s a link) it’s v similar to the one that Grimes used at the met gala!!
The alternate cover art for Halfaxa would be an awesome patch! It's the one with the skull & two swans crossing over the top like a heart, and the mouth says Grimes in cool font.
Very interesting. I went here: http://genius.com/Grimes-artangels-lyrics, and one of the commenters reckons it could be "Je comprends, Je le dis, although I don't know what comes after c'est la vie. But yeah, definitely sounds like French there.
I was a little torn on the song at first, wasn't crazy about it after couple of listens, mainly liking Act II. Then I started paying attention to the lyrics, they seemed kinda shallow when listening in passing (Also not understanding everything at first, it's grimes after all). Then I pulled up a lyric website and watched and listened with actual thought.
I get a feeling like it's some sort of internal monologue in her head between these different "characters" that are featured on the album, i'm not still 100% set on my interpretation but I think there is something there when reading them with this mindset. I'm starting to really get into the song after this, it's growing on me very quickly.
I'm also a bit tipsy, maybe my interpretation is stupidly obvious or I'm reading too much into it. Both also possible.
Thoughts?

This was done circa 2015, in a 'Visions' style, round about the time I uploaded the 'laughing and not being normal' pirate documentary (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6jeovk).
This was done with a lot of love & respect. Understand & empathise with all the arguments against posting this. I've no urge to antagonise anyone. Ultimately, it's a cover version, in a 2012 grimes style I'm sure is totally different to how the eventual 'David' will sound. Hope people enjoy it for now. Understand if they don't. They have the eventual version to look forward to. X
It's not on Spotify? Maybe because of some sample clearance problems. Listen here: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/380805/Grimes-%E2%88%86%E2%88%86%E2%88%86%E2%88%86Rasik%E2%88%86%E2%88%86%E2%88%86%E2%88%86-Lata-Mangeshkar-Rasik-Balma/

Depending what you’re preferred medium is and availability in your location. Id use cross media like watercolours mixed biro pens and pencils and markers to get more textures, colours and more original blends. I can link you some cool watercolour ink watercolour ink palette they really smooth, vibrant and what i would describe “cybernetic” colours like the top right green or 3rd from bottom right blue. Defo recommend those inks for this kinda colouring book!
I found this affordable bar of soap on amazon: here
Doesn't warm up, though. I haven't found a cleanser that will (except the one mentioned in the article. But amazon customers recommend to use it as a mask and tons of affordable, self-heating masks are out there, e.g. Bioré)
