You might want to join and post in the Facebook group for "Buy Nothing Durant, Hamilton, ON"
It's quite an active group there are always these types of items offered (and sought).
You could also try the Hamilton chapter of Freecycle https://www.freecycle.org/town/HamiltonON
I'm a huge fan of Transit for Android. It shows me all the bus lines near my location and you can click on line then on the location icon to see where the bus actually is (typically with a delay of just under a minute).
Dundas here. We bought an Airthings Radon detector on Amazon to measure with. 1950's house with unfinished basement, minor cracks in concrete floor, sump pit in root cellar with ill-fitting door. Reading in basement was well over 1,000Bq/m, main floor was around 200. For perspective, < 100 is "safe", < 200 is "OK but you might want to improve it".
Mitigations we did were:
Afterwards, basement levels stay 130-150Bq/m if windows are closed for more than a day, drops to 30Bq/m if open for a few hours, 0Bq/m if open all day. There are still some spots we can improve the sealing and will do so eventually, but this made a huge difference to the measurements.

Here is the actual article that was quoted.
Immediately preceding the quote it says:
An anonymous reader quotes a report from CNN
Then, you'll notice the very next paragraph begins with:
the 'best estimate' is extremely optimistic
This user repeatedly posts misleading information and is manipulative with their sources.
The connections between Hamilton & Montreal has more history than Toronto, but same difference.
Look for a book titled Whiskey & Ice, it gives a broad overview of Hamilton during Prohibition, mostly centering around Hamiltons largest bootlegger but enough background on the Mobs start and Rocco Perri.

It's not a perfect solution, but they will probably grab one or two at most and freak the fuck out.
The app simply called Transit also has that same live HSR feed. WIth the app's latest update, the feature called "Go" can dynamically on-the-fly tell you the best busses to catch to get to your destination the quickest based on this live data. Not trying to throw out a promotion for the heck of it, but it has helped me on the ocasional times I had to take the HSR.

Binbrookian here since 2011.

The best thing you can do is stay at home. With that being said, check out https://foldingathome.org/ if you want to donate your computer’s background CPU and GPU time to researchers and clinicians.
In short, Folding@Home builds the virus's protein atom-by-atom. The finished result allows scientists to study and it find a cure or vaccine. Since this is incredibly difficult for one computer to do, F@H uses many computers to complete work units to contribute to an all around greater result. This is called distributed computing.

Bunch of more places to try, Park's Furniture, Stoney Creek Furniture, Ashley's, United.
I don't play WoW but am familiar with the afternoon/evening throttle that seem popular with all the ISPs lately. Teksavvy has the same problem, in that their leased trunk lines still pass through Bell's throttling system.
However, Teksavvy + their $4 a month MLPPP service (Multi Link Point to Point Protocol -- you can use this to add multiple DSL connections into one big fat DSL connection, but for this purpose you only need one) removes all throttling. Your connection is only 5 mbps, but it is fully available to you at all hours (and I'm not talking about the 80kb/s upload cap, just connection throttling).
The tricky part is setting it up. You have to use a router compatible with Tomato firmware, typically the WRT5GL Linksys wireless routers you can buy anywhere. Then you must flash this alternative firmware to the Linksys router, and then configure it with the MLPPP options that Teksavvy should be able to provide.
It's a bit of technical work and not for the faint of heart, but MLPPP, AFAIK is the only way in Canada to really beat the big telcos throttles.

You can get a laminator for like $30 amazon and a 100 pack of 3 mm laminating sheets for $35
I would do Amazon. Local places charge way too much IMO
I got one for my GF in Amazon.
If you're worried about this happening to you, there are apps out there like SnoopSnitch and AIMSICD that attempt to warn you if you've connected to one of these "fake" cell towers.
They're not perfect, and often require you to root your phone, but they're better than nothing.
>A lot of people don't understand that the wait is usually due to their bank taking a while to authorize the transaction.
This isn't true. When you make a payment online, the risk is scored by the bank in real time and processed accordingly (See Stripe Radar as an example of this). Only if payment is considered risky is it flagged to the merchant as requiring review. This is very rare, most merchants opt to decline the payment if it's risky or falls below a certain risk score. The same applies if the card has a hold applied that is only charged when the pick up is made, the risk is calculated when the hold is applied, not when the amount is captured.
Lastly, a payment made online is never gaurenteed money and most large merchants carry insurance and/or write off a percentage of sales to account for it.. They only time a merchant is gaurenteed their money is if someone physically enters a pin. Every other transaction e.g. Online, over the phone, tap can easily be frauduent and/or contested.

If you do not mind tinkering with hardware and software you can build a Retropie for about $50ish with a raspberry pi and a couple of usb SNES controllers. Everything you need for setup is availble via youtube or forums & on the Retropie site. Although this does operate in a moral grey zone as most available roms are not exactly legal.

*Edit - forgot to mention the Retropie will play just about any older system emulator you can think about below N64, it tends to struggle with N64 and up.
To be honest, the ancestry information isn't too exciting unless you're mixed race or European. As in, "South Asian" or "Chinese" is as specific as some ancestry results get. The break-down ancestry categories are listed here at the bottom of the page: https://www.23andme.com/en-ca/ancestry-composition-guide/. I found the health information to be more interesting.
see https://preply.com/en/skype/french-tutors My wife uses it to stay current in French. The connection is via Skype. You can be an absolute beginner to learn any language and pricing is super reasonable - French starting at $12 per hour. We are quite happy with it.

I'd suggest googling a list of apiaries in the Hamilton area. I have heard tell that beekeepers will sometimes be willing to come and "rescue" hives from people's houses.

You do realize that you phone synchronizes automatically right? That includes all phone accounts (Google/Apple). So if you don't want to consider that private, by all means, connect without any protection at all. I'm just not that stupid enough to allow someone to sniff my data and easily, easily capture my session cookie or any non-encrypted data due to poor programming on app developer efforts, on an open public channel. That is literally begging for trouble.
Don't even bother with"just turn it off" argument as the vast majority of users don't have a clue and certainly don't want to be bothered with that.
Install TunnelBear VPN, it's free (500mb), does a decent job, will give you extra VPN data(+500mb) of you tweet about it too. There is no reason at all to not protect yourself out there. None.
Prey is free, and works (in my experience, at least - I mislaid my phone on my last day of a work trip to Vancouver earlier this year, and managed to locate it swiftly)
If you are looking for a nature trail (Fall colours etc), I'd personally avoid the main Hamilton-Brantford Rail trail. It's pretty much arrow straight and to get into the nature element, you need to start in Dundas or further. There also isn't much to see from the trail itself.
As other's have said, the conservation area in Dundas has some great loops but if you wanted a very accessible trail with easy parking, I'd recommend the Chedoke Radial Trail:
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/ontario/chedoke-radial-trail
You can easily park in the Chedoke Golf Course and if you walk the side trails (Highly recommended as they have an awesome mix of colours and terrain) it would be about 90mins to 2 hours. There are also some great lookout points over Hamilton. The bonus of this trail is the Chedoke Golf course lot is less than a 10 min walk from Chedoke Falls, so you get a Hamilton waterfall as part of your day out.
Afterwards, if you are feeling inclined, Locke St is a 5 min drive away and has some great places to eat and get coffee.
This is the one I use. It has worked fantastic for us.
try buying a copy of a book called:
It is scientific study of the financial habits of millionaires.

Geez, no idea. The desktop looks like this one: http://www.cnet.com/products/acer-aspire-x1700-u3700a/ on the third pic you can see the configuration... her;s could be this model or any of the others that look like it. I believe it had 4 gigs of ram and an amd processor.

Yes it is. Lmao. Imagine crying about not being able to park for free. The entitlement. Jesus. People like you don't seem to understand the immense cost our society pays so you can park for "free".
Like free healthcare, it's not free, just somebody is paying for it with their taxes rather than the end user. In the case of a broken leg, that makes moral sense to me. Parking for free? That's entitlement.
A book you should look into: https://www.amazon.ca/High-Cost-Free-Parking-Updated/dp/193236496X
Hi everyone! It’s gonna be super nice out this week. If you’re looking to find someone near you to play some tennis with, try out Rankd, a free tennis matchmaking app that pairs you with nearby players of similar skill levels.
You can choose your available times, and distance you’re willing to travel. You will also have a rank that you can try to improve as you play.

I was using an outdoor antenna on my balcony when I lived downtown. It faced south, and I was almost up against the escarpment but I was able to pick up all the major networks from the US and Canada. It was just a cheapie style one that someone at work gave me to test and never wanted back. I had it on a tripod on the balcony since we weren't allowed to mount anything to the rails or outside brick and it worked well. No repositioning or anything.
Haven't tried one since moving on the mountain but would imagine it'd be about the same here.
https://www.amazon.ca/pingbingding-Antenna-Outdoor-Amplified-Mounting/dp/B07DGYGGSF (similar to this but not as nice, a bit smaller and only 1 set of vanes but you get the idea)
"For instance, police officers should not have the discretion to decide when a camera is on or off and there should be controlled access to who can review that footage, including police, he said. "
Call me a cynic but cops have been using ye old 'someone must have stolen the antenna(mounted on the car)' or simply turn off the body cams, then there's the 'lost footage' possibility. Now you'll have car cams that 'magically have mud on them' or 'fake bird crap'(this is a thing).
Hell, I'd just like them to SIGNAL when making a lane change or turn. Let's start with being a good example for the rest of the drivers eh? I mean, if they can't even manage to do that, why should anyone else?
Industrial chalk could be good - it's not permanent. https://www.amazon.ca/Dixon-Railroad-Tapered-Sticks-88811/dp/B002C2D4NY/ref=sr_1_2?crid=62BCK4PJ37ZJ&keywords=industrial+chalk&qid=1645628263&sprefix=%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-2 (not that I've seriously considered it... /s)
You could probably find a cheap trailcam.
This one gets poor reviews but is less than $40.
If it turns out that you can’t find Gundam markers locally, I’ve had great success with these from Amazon. I work with a few different mediums and needed silver & gold paint pens that could pass as actual silver/gold leaf, and these pens did not disappoint. The tips are very fine and the colours turn out better than some high end brands I’ve tried.
I'd also suggest then checking this Google Group (listserv) out, either bookmark it or sign up:
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/hamiltonbirds
It has over 400 members, sharing sightings of birds in Hamilton Study Area (which is a 25 mile circle with the centre being Dundurn Castle). Also ebird.org is another great resource for recent and historical data.
And, if you're really enthusiastic, you can purchase the Birds of Hamilton book (a tome, really, it's huge!), which I believe the Hamilton Store is now carrying (or will be soon), proceeds go to the club, who published it.
There's also a few events in September that are bird-centric, yet to be added to Eventbrite but are on the calendar on the web site.
Both of these trails have a bit of an incline but they are so interesting that I still wanted to recommend them.
Smokey Hollow If you turn around once the trail starts to head away from the water you should be around the 90 min mark
Second this. I think you may also be able to rent directly from Cineplex now for home streaming?
I use JustWatch (https://www.justwatch.com/) to figure out where things I want to watch are available to stream or rent, and then go there.
Although you are nervous, meetup.com is really the way to go as you can find groups based on location, interests etc.

I used to be a part of meetup.com group and I can tell you, get out of your comfort zone, they are usually pretty good people.
Here's a handy google map of the trip through Hamilton.
Hey I was about to list one for sale if you’re interested. PM me if you’re interested. It’s brand new. Box opened just to confirm it’s in there.
If you do want to go new, Dr Disc downtown will probably have them. Then maybe Revolution Records on Ottawa, or Records on Wheels in Dundas.

Hey, I don't actually do this since I don't own a car and have to take the bus, but you could park in the mall down the street (University Plaza) and then take a 6 min bus ($2 a ticket) to the hospital. This shouldn't be a problem if you're not staying too long or late hours when the mall is closed.
This is going to be a GREAT show. If you have heard The National before and think “they are okay but I’m not sure if I actually like them” then you want to see them live. They put so much more emotion and passion into their live show than their studio albums. Here is a great concert they had in Sydney, you should listen to the whole thing but if you dont have time start at 1:24:30 and listen to the next 4 songs; England, Graceless, About Today and Fake Empire. The National - Live at Sydney Opera House https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=uWd0EWKpH94
They have also announced the other 3 bands in addition to The National and Alvvays: Hayden and his band Jennifer Castle and the angels of death band Hannah Georgas
They also have a sold out show in Toronto at Roy Thompson Hall that is going to be awesome in April, tickets wont be cheap though if you dont already have them.
My company is hiring for remote positions (such as myself) in areas like customer success, project management, sales, marketing, etc. They are located in Kitchener but you can work remote.
DM me if you're interested in any roles! https://www.igloosoftware.com/careers/#currentopenings
I have a little studio set up, but I'll piggyback off a few other comments here.
Resistance bands are legitimately very good to use, especially the "loop" types like these. I have two sets and you can do a ton of work with them in a pinch. Very versatile and you can do presses, squats, pulls, lifts, ect in many different ways.
I'm not much of a kettlebell person but they work for those who enjoy them, I'd probably default to a set of cheaper 1" spin lock dumbbells and plates in a pinch though. More multi use and much easier to offload afterwards if you'd like.
Weighted vests are good but more of a cardio item due to their lower overall weight.
Heavier equipment is expensive as hell and at a premium right now, so it's probably not the best idea unless you have the space or budget for a potential loss. Though I can recommend decently priced home equipment from the GTA if you like.
the concept of "open data" is about data that is created by the government being made available in raw form for citizens who paid for that data. One of the uses may be holding politicians accountable, but it certainly isn't the only use.
This particular feed may be used to hold public servants accountable at a higher level than bus drivers. For example, this JC tweet suggests an improvement for HSR management based on the data: https://twitter.com/JoeyColeman/status/495333775748788224
That said, this isn't the end of the story for open data in Hamilton. This is just the first minor victory. I believe the goal is to get the city to build new projects with open data available as default where it makes sense.
This is a search of routes for single days, but you can string a few together by changing the parameters and keywords on the left.
These are going to be tricky times as, even though I think cogeco's infrastructure is not the greatest, there is definitely an added strain due to the pandemic.

Please follow this advice:
1) Make sure you have eliminated as many variables as possible before calling them. Ideally, just have your virus-free PC directly connected to the cogeco modem with an ethernet cable with all other wireless devices disabled. Check that all wiring/cable connections are secure.
2) When you do get someone, don't let them give you the "Go to fast.com oh look your results say your Internet is fine" spiel. This is what the "tech" did to me and I'm not sure if that's the script they're using to get people off the phone, if the tech was inept, or that is what actually passes for technical support with cogeco. If they do this, ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them you have run your own diagnostics and know there is a problem.
3) Reinforce when you get said supervisor that you know there is a problem. Demand they run more tests and hopefully this will precipitate them arranging a tech. You might get more info out of the supervisor or the tech either acknowledging your problem or a problem in the neighbourhood.
This is what I did and they got a tech out to me the next day. It was strange, that morning before the tech came out the problem wasn't there. Tech also told me he knew of a problem in the neighbourhood but resolution as of right now is ambiguous.
Since all of this it has been better, yesterday was shitty though as I said. I'm not really sure what's going on, but you gotta put a bug in their ear. Can appreciate the level of net usage during the pandemic but this could go on for months. You need to complain .
Yeh so I did this and as expected latency is jumping all over the place. Will be 21 ms one second then 200 the next and this corresponds exactly with the rubber banding. Fkin called cogeco today and dude told me to go fast.com which is a speedtest owned by NetFlix and when my download speed came back normal he says "Well it looks like there's no problem." Having worked there several years ago I know it's either a script he's been told to read from or he's an idiot. Anyway, spoke to supervisor who I think was muzzled from telling me out right that there's problems in the neighbourhood but said would send a tech out to check the line. I'm going to badger the tech tomorrow to see if I can get some straight answers.
You can probably book an Airbnb on a debit card. Alternatively, Hotels.com or similar will accept the booking but read the hotel terms carefully as they may require a credit card at check-in (Some waive this as Hotels.com etc guarantee the rate etc)
There are a whole bunch of hedges at the RBG here, but not really much of a maze
Camera was just a Canon Powershot A2200, for the panorama I just used Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/), freeware that automatically connects multiple images together. Very easy to use and only took a few clicks.
The issue most likely has nothing to do with the Rogers network in the area and everything to do with your phones not having the bands that the Rogers network uses.
Rogers uses:
Bands 4G B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1), B7 (2600), B12 (700)
Bands 3G B2 (1900), B5 (850)
Bands 2G B2 (1900), B5 (850)
You need to see the bands that your phone has.
You can find out more here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA
You can use this map to get an idea of coverage: https://opensignal.com/networks/canada/wind-mobile-coverage There's a few other similar maps out there. Granted it is hard to say how recent some of the recordings are.
There's also this map https://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/cancellsites.html which will give you an idea of where their cell towers are in relation to where you might be in Ancaster.
Do this. Connect your computer via ethernet directly into the cable modem. Turn off wifi. Close all running applications, except your browser. Clear your browser cache. Run this speed test: https://www.nperf.com/en/ Tell us the results, especially latency.
Standing by to hear back.
I have Cogeco 360 and have been running Ping Plotter . Nothing too much out of the ordinary. Which hops are showing the highest latency and packet loss? (of course much depends on the destination IP address)
I don't know what rose gold looks like, but is your wallet like this?

Please remember the Verify Ontario app is ONLY for checking QR codes. It will not store your own vaccine certificate!
PSA: If have an Android device and there are plenty of ways to make 1-tap access to your QR code without having to screenshot it (or a workaround like IOS users are doing for Apple Wallet.)
I am using an app from the Play Store called Green Pass (I am not the dev, just a user who finds it useful.) that will open the QR code with one tap. It also support fingerprint authentication, so you can restrict access to the vaccine certificate if you want. It is also free & ad-free to boot.
I’m on south mountain. I set one of these up in my attic: Digiwave Adjustable Multidirectional HDTV Antenna - ANT7287, Silver
I get about 35 channels with it. The important part is that it can point in two different directions to get both the Toronto and Buffalo stations.
My parents live in the country and they swear by these things: Pest Repeller, Plug-in Pest Repellent, 4-Pack,Pest Control, Indoor use, Anti Mice, Mosquitos, Insects, Bugs, Ants, Spiders, Roaches, Rodents, Rats https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08DRCGGNF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_DG6H6T70PJ4C3PF9DHV5
You can order the DE and a sprayer from amazon (or I would think Cdn Tire, Home Hardware, or maybe even Walmart would sell them). If you need a bed frame without a box spring, I have BRAND NEW one.
I stupidly bought a 7.5 inch one and didn’t realize until I took it out of the box and put it together lmao. It’s literally been out of the box for two days so I’m trying to find a new home for it ASAP so I can purchase a taller bed lol.
I purposely bought this Zinus brand again after having no complaints on another model I bought for another bed.
$100 or best offer. And give me a best offer because I just want this gone! It’s priced at $190.
Would also needed to be picked up in the Landsdale area. :)
This is a lie, and a source from a random medical person's blog is useless. Please stop spreading misinformation and consult verified research from historians. The Haudenosaunee have been in the Great Lakes Region since the 1600s. They were refugees because the British handed their land over to the Americans, but that didn't entail they lose their right to land since they were allied NATIONS (not conquered) for overt 100 years. It is an app that shows all the public available air quality sensors, plus the ones with their own brand. This is not the only one around, there's quite a bit of them.
On the air quality mater what I have seen is that usually at night gets very bad and/or when the wind is blowing south or west. At night almost always surpasses the 50 mark.
I also tend to look various points, since sometimes one sensor goes out of wack like you mentioned.
super simple way without having to drill holes in the walls. Just plug into your wall. uses your power lines to transmit.

Hi everybody! I'm a local Hamilton author who writes extensively on r/nosleep and I recently wrote a novel! It has been published by Manor House and is now available on Amazon! It's inspired by my former experiences working as a security guard at a certain notorious local asylum that is supposedly haunted. Please check it out! Century Manor is a big focal point of the novel.
If you're interested in the paperback there is an option to buy it for 20$ but it is defaulting to the more expensive option for some reason, so just choose the one direct from Amazon if you want a copy.
The novel is a Suspense/Thriller titled "Beneath the Asylum"
Thanks!
If you are comfortable ordering off Amazon, this is the one I have which costs $99. So easy to set up, very sturdy, works wonderful!

Surprisingly, you can actually buy a suit of platemail from Amazon for less than $200
Make sure the wire is not bent when repositioning the headset back in place. Goto Canadian Tire and pick up some cheap clamps and some Starbond from Amazon (or anywhere you can find it). Starbond is designed for shock absorption and dries charcoal black. Apply the adhesive and secure the parts in place with the clamp. I'd leave it over night just to be paranoid.
I don't believe you're going to find any official service to repair a headset and I feel for you. Steel Series is not cheap. It's worth trying a fix! Good luck!
No can do. Spent all my money on my stationary downhill skiing machine and stationary skydiving simulator.
But when I save up enough, could it fit under my stairs? I could probably make some space there if I move the stairmaster from the basement to the attic.
I live next to the Chedoke Stairs if that helps answer the question.
Related question: is there a bylaw against setting up my treadmill on the sidewalk?

Good idea, we should cover these in retroreflective DOT tape. It's not vandalism if you're improving its performance, right?
What about a nighttime application of fox piss to their yard? (Frozen into cubes and tossed over the fence might deter them from using the space. (But also may be stinky enough to also deter you from using yours as well)
Not cheap but this came up on Amazon https://www.amazon.ca/Trevigiane-Treviso-Italian-Regional-Playing/dp/B073MSQM3L/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Trevigiane&qid=1598136074&sr=8-2
Searching Italian playing cards brought up alot of cheaper options but I wasn't sure if they had to be Trevigiane.
Maybe just don’t go to the one in Dundas. They were extremely weird with basic ingredients like Miso there. You might have to look near the fish (it’s veg though) for this otherwise should be with the soy sauce, etc.
Also, what you’re looking for is for sale on Amazon
And the spicy miso too ...
If you have trouble finding enough, I’d suggest making your own from HEPA material - some studies have shown it is as effective as a surgical mask if sewn properly. You can use HEPA vacuum cleaner bags. They must be HEPA or they won’t be as good as a surgical mask.
Here’s the ones I bought from Amazon. You can make about 10 masks from 1 bag, so 30 masks from this package. I just sew them by hand with pleats I copied from an existing surgical mask, and then add elastic ear loops (you can use either regular elastic bands or actual sewing elastic).
I second Amazon, got it on prime in less than 24hrs and by far the best price compared to anywhere local: https://www.amazon.ca/ERYTHRITOL-SWEETENER-Granules-Amson-Naturals/dp/B079ZCJMHZ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1547078812&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=erythritol+5lb&psc=1

I need the colander to be of the right size and shape to fit into a pot like this https://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-KDS-182-82qt-Boiler/dp/B00VU5C9QC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1535584837&sr=8-6&keywords=bayou+classic&dpID=41pkNgo0T2L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch so that is can boil inside the liquid then I can lift it out while the broth drains off
We buy these spicy peanuts from the B and T market on Park at Cannon (cause they are all the noms) and are left with a bunch of Szechuan peppercorns after. https://www.amazon.com/Huang-Spicy-Crispy-Peanut-Ounce/dp/B00JY7NR7I
I would be surprised if B and T doesn’t sell peppercorns in their spice section though.
Depending how handy you are you may want to try a code reader like this https://www.amazon.ca/RioRand-RS300-Diagnostic-OBDII-Vehicles/dp/B008YL4F80 They also have Bluetooth ones that can run on your phone. You can try to reset the code and see if it comes back, or Google the code to narrow down what the problem could be. If you have to take it to a mechanic anyway, it might give you piece of mind to go in already having some idea of what the problem might be.
Can't find the one with 7 settings but here is one with prime you get it before Christmas:
