This article from 2006 said he never read it personally, and also doesn’t imply anything about it being inaccurate.

Interestingly for one who has experienced so much anguish both as a member and non-member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frusciante has no interest in hearing the other side. He hasn’t read Scar Tissue.
“I’ve asked Anthony for a copy on three occasions. He says, Sure, but it never comes,” he smiles. But Frusciante has heard what’s in it. He is unimpressed.
“There are things in it that were supposed to be secrets. We said, We won’t talk about this, but it’s all there. It’s not the coolest shit in the world…but I forgive him.”
I’m sure like most autobiographies, there are parts that are fuzzy or cobbled together. Maybe things are misremembered, and possibly they are purposely misremembered (slightly) to make for a better narrative. And of course, sometimes people have different “sides” to the same basic story.
If you really want to see some comparison between Scar Tissue and other sources, there’s some great, thorough research done by Hamish ( /u/butter_wizard ) in his newsletters— https://buttondown.email/rhcpsessions Sometimes, Hamish will note where his research runs parallel or counter to the stuff in Scar Tissue.
A couple of people in the newsletter mad the comment "dudebro," which is not the first time I've seen it. This one bothers me the most because I highly doubt dudebro music would feature two guys kissing in a music video or be so open with their sexuality as RHCP is. Honestly, the criticism at its base level is valid, but overblown. Kind of like the Radiohead is boring joke, but that one's like "ha ha they're amazing" whereas RHCP is "ha ha fuck them."
As I said above, Inside Of Emptiness is my favorite, but right behind it is Shadows and Empyrean, both of which are monumental releases. "Unreachable" is just immense.
Finally, again as I said above, if you have a moment and you dug the concept, maybe subscribe? Tell your friends?
Thanks! Honestly, it's not my favorite (Inside Of Emptiness is), but it's not far behind and is the absolute quintessential Frusciante record.
If you like this issue/concept, I'd love if you could subscribe and tell your friends. Free issues every Monday with a bunch of different artists/styles:
Best Buy seems to have it. Free shipping on orders over 25, so grab a movie or something with it (or The Outsides EP).
Reached Enclosure, almost took the exact amount of time as From The Sounds Inside that I played in the background too (I've played 2048 type games before though).
If someone here liked the type of puzzle and wants to play something similar that has a lot more depth (you can't as easily stack numbers in a corner by just pressing 2 direction buttons for example, and you have to think a lot more) you should look into the game Threes. Threes was actually made before 2048, its good to give it some recognition if you like 2048 and are into puzzle games of that type.
The book that really opened me up to being able to read almost anything was Bertrand Russells "A History of Western Philosophy." It was a hard and long read but I buckled down and now I can read pretty much any religious, philosophical, or historical arguments without too much confusion about the context or the jargon.
From the interviews where he talks about Nietzsche and his essay on The Will To Death I don't think John knows about much of anything besides his own approach to music. He seems interested in philosophical and spiritual concepts, but it usually comes out as babbling about spirits and dimensions. Granted, that's what he's shared with the public. Maybe he was going through some weird stuff at the time, or maybe he's invented his own terms without sharing the meaning he gives them. Maybe he read some bullshit new age philosophical book and he's buying into their relabeling and oversimplification of real philosophical ideas. It's really hard to say. Granted, I wish he'd write a book about his approach to music.
Well, now you've brought on an audiophile war. ;)
Me and many of my friends have this turntable. Good quality without breaking the bank.

Thank you very much for the info on complex ptsd. I was diagnosed with PTSD (finally) 2 years ago. I've dealt with Anxiety (from as long as I can remember) then Depression starting just before my teenage years. Besides music, what has really helped me when I have a panic attack or when I need to concentrate (I startle easily especially at work) its called mynoise.net
Hope this might be of help, too. :o)
Amazon has a DVD. It’s probably not on streaming services because there is a hardcore scene between Vincent Gallo and Chloe Sevigny. It’s one of the worst movies ever made, be warned.

Well, my Niandra vinyl looks pretty "new" so it's probably a reissue (I guess). It's the same as this one : https://www.amazon.fr/Niandra-Lades-Usually-T-Shirt-Allemand/dp/B07SNNP19R
That seems like a pretty even trade, but have you seen this listing? It doesn't specify the 7-inch but it says it is Superior Viaduct SV076 just like your link, and goes for the same price it was originally sold for.

Does seem like they're out of production again, nobody else seems to be selling them, so you'll be slightly ahead of the insane price curve.
god daim, i need to get new headphones. i thought about buying the audio technica. * though i think i have a good stereo system
Thank you for this comment :) I do try my best to be as open musically as much as I can (one of my obsessions nowadays is Dorothy Ashby's music). I do too find enormous pleasure in mathematics - it has a universe of its own, where you get to highhandedly play with its natural laws. Lately I also am study with a little gem of an app to better comprehend music at large...
So yeah, we both get to be busy for our own pursuits. And we're at it no matter what or who or by what means. :)
