> Later she explained that she would "get ready" once they got to Michigan. Whatever that means
To me this doesn't seem puzzling at all. Why get all dolled up for a private plane flight? I don't know how many total hours they were going to spend in transit (I believe they were to fly to Minneapolis, pick up John's kids and then end up in Michigan, so I'm assuming up to 4 hours total travel time; nonstop flights from Denver to Minneapolis take 2 hours: https://www.google.com/flights/#search;f=DEN;t=MSP;d=2017-03-07;r=2017-03-12;q=flight+time+from+denver+to+minneapolis).
So why put on a whole new set of clothes that likely will get wrinkled in flight anyway? Just put on the same outfit as previous night (which I'm guessing may not have been the same one as she wore the entire day of Xmas) and then change into fresh clothes for the rest of the day in Michigan etc.
As for her hair, I think she had at least a half an hour in her bedroom after waking before she actually went down to the kitchen.
Here’s an article including image of a baseball bat to the head. To me it looks somewhat similar to the injury JonBenet sustained. https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Biomechanical-Examination-of-Blunt-Trauma-due-to-to-Gläser-Kneubuehl/10b73e6216f4734eae9dc3e6a3b6afabb9129354
Death of Innocence isn’t near as expensive as it used to be. I purchased a copy last year for about $11. Although the price has gone up a little bit since then it is still affordable, some as low as $.01. https://www.amazon.com/Death-Innocence-JonBenets-Exploitation-Compromised/dp/0785268162/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2CV9NF5CQZ24U&dchild=1&keywords=death+of+innocence&qid=1621807497&sprefix=Death+of+innocence%2Caps%2C206&sr=8-4

He did originally self publish the book through his own publishing company Ventus.
I believe it's from the book discussed in this article about the botanists who did the testing. The title is 'Forensic Plant Science' by Jane Norris and David Bock. If you have 80 bucks to throw around, you can pick up a copy here
Having been stationed in the Philippines as a Civil Engineer Corps officer in the Navy, John no doubt would've learned of its history of garroting prisoners.

> The weather wasn't frigid
Jameson, this is incorrect:

I cant find Boulder's weather station, but the temps would be very similar across that region given the mountains to the west and the plains to the east. 5 degrees Fahrenheit on 12-26-1996
Not sure how many spiders you hang out with, but I assure you they are dormant at that temperature.
Regardless, it's literally pretty thin evidence of an intruder, and that as an entrance point was dismissed the day of.
Lou Smit (Please note that I did not write $mit) pushed that theory. There are theories on why he pushed that theory.
I imagine your hike was something like this ... Boulder Star. And if you look at the map, 403 Cleveland Ave (where the Whites resided at the time) is located next to one of the furthest streets west, about two streets north of Baseline. It’s butted right up next to the mountain and the Star.
I imagine from the Whites house the Star looked just huge. JonBenet must have thought it was magnificent. I wonder what the walk was like from 403 Cleveland up to the Star?
Maybe we should have an AMA with the UC botanists. Besides the canned vs. fresh pineapple, there are other possible forms. What about dried fruit? What about candied pineapple, the kind that shows up in holiday fruitcake? I would love to hear from these people, not because I think it’s going to crack the case, but because only they can speak to the subtleties of their findings.

I don’t think a cattle prod would have left more evidence. The handheld ones are pretty small and easy to come by in the ranching community in CO. A bit easier to acquire than a taser. (Air Taser was the first/only consumer-accessible taser that year, which may have been why people thought it was used.) Cattle prods use a slightly lower amount of electrical energy because they are just intended to shock animals, not incapacitate them.
Here’s the type I was talking about:

The Ramseys had their own investigators questioning people by the afternoon of the 28th, before Law Enforcement could question them.
Apparently FACT according to Steve Thomas (an investigator on this case for BPD)'s Book JonBenet: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation pg 64 of the google book. citation
Why does this matter? Well that means the investigators were out locking people into statements and potentially shaping/guiding impressions and memories. So when these people talked to LE they were more likely to say the same kind of thing they said in the previous interview.
Well, well, well. Look what we have here. It's a photo of a garrote in the Philippines which doesn't have two handles, but a rod as a twister.

Yes he does. He does, "Injustice"

He also investigated the "Amy case".
>What about the Santa suit that was often kept in the basement, near the crime scene?
It wasn’t a Santa suit in the basement, it was a Santa figure. There’s a photo of if somewhere

>Here’s a typical Santa suit. Note that it’s 100% polyester: https://www.amazon.com/Rubies-Bright-Flannel-Gloves-Standard/dp/B003TULPGG/
Right. Bill McReynolds was fond of wearing a Santa suit. However he was so devastated by her death that within days he had gotten rid of his suit, vowing he would never play Santa again. So no chance of getting his suit fibers compared tom those on the garotte
Yes he does. Have you ever read this book about how he and some others solved the cold cases of a serial killer? I feel like I got to know Smit by reading this book. It talks about how he solved the murder of Kelsey Grammer’s sister and other cases. He was a wonderful man by all accounts.
I used to comment a lot on here under old accounts but I got tired of defending the Ramseys over and over. But I’ve always enjoyed your comments, particularly your expertise on the DNA.
It boggles my mind that people handwave the unknown DNA found in the underwear of a raped and murdered child. In no other case would that happen.

This is a link to the documentary on amazon. I think you can get it Youtube too, but there is a fee for both.
Interesting and helpful to my understanding - thanks for this. I may or may not agree with the conclusion, but spelling it out is how you greatly increase your risk of getting sued for slander. Foreign Faction laid out the evidence, but refrained from a final conclusion statement to avoid litigation.
I agree with the spirit of what you are saying here. It was the old testament, (Ecclesiastes 1:9 for the religiously-oriented amongst us, god help you) after all, where the quote about there being nothing new under the sun was derived.
But having read most of the important books on this case over the years I would say that as of Kolar's book (published 6.14.12 according to Amazon) things have really started moving in the right direction. This becomes clear in reading PMPT and other early books about the case; the Ramsey's PR and legal machine successfully ginned up enough red herrings and misdirection to keep people away from the "island of privacy" where all the Ramsey secrets live.
To be honest I actually have looked at this book, It's Me, Edward Wayne Edwards, the Serial Killer You Never Heard Of, on Amazon and the reviews were somewhat compelling. The general gist of them seems to say that the book is poorly written and a lot of the material is pretty far-fetched but that there are some connections made in the book that seem like they warrant further scrutiny. The title of the book makes my eye twitch as an English major and writer with the odd use of commas and the ending of the subtitle with a preposition.
Excuse this if you are the author but this is book is a great example of why there needs to be a strong editorial sense in an author for them to make the most powerful arguments. This book seems to really dilute its case by trying to link Edwards with every prominent murder of the 20th century. As one of the reviewers put it "I’m surprised he didn’t blame him for the Lizzie Borden murders."
Care to make a case why I and others here should read this book? I read a lot of true crime stuff and buy books off of Amazon all of the time so I am in the demo but unconvinced based on the prevailing sentiment of the Amazon reviews.
I just looked up the book, and from the reviews it seems that the one thing they do not believe in the book is his thesis about JonBenet being murdered by him. Here is the link https://www.amazon.com/Edward-Wayne-Edwards-Serial-Killer/dp/1885793030
