The American left can learn a great deal from the old dissident movement from Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Just in terms of the practical approach to organizing. https://www.amazon.com/Kor-History-Workers-Committee-1976-1981/dp/0520052439
How on earth is it collusion?!
Even if they did organise between themselves to ban him, how is that collusion? Collusion implies deciet, cheating, or illegal behaviour for some sort of gain. What have they done that is any of those things?
Settling into my new trade I started about a month ago. It is going well, and I am excited for my future. Recently went to the book store and bought A People's History of the United States and the beautiful Barnes and Noble version of The Arabian Nights. It was an impulse buy and I can't say I am happy I got suckered into paying $20.00 for something in the public domain but at least I can look at it as art.
May I introduce you to https://libgen.is/
Search for the title of your paper in scientific articles and voila.
The domain sometimes gets shuffled around and you can find it again by googling libgen.
Yeah, I especially found the part about the concept "scripted violence" illuminating:
> demagogic rhetoric can produce “scripted violence,” in which the demagogue can claim there is no direct link between the inciting language and the violence of “random” perpetrators.
I followed the endnote and read that as well: Chip Berlet. 2014. “Heroes Know Which Villains to Kill: How Coded Rhetoric Incites Scripted Violence,” in Matthew Feldman and Paul Jackson (eds), Doublespeak: Rhetoric of the Far-Right Since 1945 (Stuttgart: ibidem-Verlag, 2014).
Reading
The Great Game by Peter Hopkins: interesting book about the machinations of the British and Russian Empires in central Asia. Has a well delivered narrative to it.
The Plot Against America by Philip Roth: fairly by-the-numbers period book about what would have been WW2 America, except America doesn't join the war. Only reading it because people said it was reminiscent of Trump's rise, but now that he's just a typical American imperialist, not that compelling.
Recently read
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: a kind of orientalist fantasy, I enjoy that sort of thing so I like it. It's essentially a fairytale about a young Spanish man who sets out to achieve his life story.
Merchant Kings by Stephen R. Bown: a summary history about European trading companies and their deeds in the world. Very informative as to the depths the pursuit of profit can drive humans to (obviously relevant) and a good introduction to the early deeds of imperialism.
Salazar: A Political Biography by Filipe Meneses: this was really good. I'm fascinated by dictators and I found Salazar's staunch rejection of modernity pretty interesting as well. His Portugal was the "last refuge of sentiment in Europe" as a biographer called it and it was interesting to see what motivated him in trying to set the country in its old traditions.
Planning to read
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin: I love The Dispossessed as you probably all do, so I'm looking forward to starting this.
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius: I've long wanted to read this book and I could use a command of stoicism. Plus, pretty neat to read a self-help book by a Roman emperor.
the local level is where it is at. elect a DA who won't prosecute doctors for providing abortions. elect municipal governments who will fund teachers, not police. At this level many elections are won with margins under 100 votes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4IG914/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_7THERPPM4946S5EC48Q6
If you want a well-researched history of this disease (it wasn't always like this - there USED TO be great control mechanism, i.e. capitalists facing brutal consequences of their mistakes), I recommend this one:

ah, i figured out why i can't see it. i recently added this hosts list (blocks certain domains, good for ads and malware): https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts/blob/master/alternates/fakenews-gambling-social/readme.md
lgbtqnation is listed under 'fake news'. i thought i would give that a try even though it's subjective, but i might need to remove that category.
tl;dr it's me not them, sorry 'bout that
> I suppose we need to start looking more into Raddle
Raddle is owned and run by an absolute psychopath who spends hundreds of hours creating their own sockpuppet army to fight each other with. They're also the person behind /r/LeftWithSharpEdge which got banned by the admins for (mostly) creating Youtube videos about murdering me and cannibalizing my family. The main people behind that site, at least historically, are deeply unwell.
