That's exactly what Edge Canary is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.emmx.canary
It's based on the latest Chromium base and does feel faster to use than the current stable, but in terms of features it's still pretty barebones. They are still adding more/back features into it (they just re-added ABP in a recent update) so it will still take a while before it hits stable.
You have to convert them first. Calibre will convert them from epub to mobi or whatever you need. Once you get the file into Calibre you click on convert and change the file type in the upper right corner.
This actually doesn't mean anything. Fast.com is a better one IMO, but each run I do with either Fast or speedtest is never exactly the same. I have Gigabit, nad one might show 860 Mbps, then the next run 1.1 Gbps, then the next 580 Mbps. All going from the same source location. Shit I could have two identical machines next to each other in Edge, on the same switch, same cables, and get a 100-300 Mbps difference in the report. The browser is going to effect loading times, not download speeds.
sorry i don't understand half of that, not smart enough.
here's a way to use chrome store themes in edge chromium:
https://winaero.com/blog/install-google-chrome-themes-in-microsoft-edge-chromium/
link to themes on chrome store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/themes
most of them just apply a background image. but some of them do change the buttons and the shape of the tabs a bit. maybe you can find something better or get ideas to design your own theme
>My main browser, Vivaldi, does not do this.
https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-powerful-privacy-settings/
Vivaldi supports Safe Browsing too
The best thing would be to have tabs there as well, i.e. two rows with tabs, but in a slightly different way than Vivaldi currently does. https://vivaldi.com/blog/manage-too-many-browser-tabs-chrome-firefox-brave-vivaldi/ Would definitely be a productivity booster.
Hey, friend! Password Monitor is still rolling out to users right now, so some of you may not see it just yet. Password generator IS out, however the team is working on improving the sites that offer this. If you happen to spot a website that the generator is not appearing on, the team requests that you submit that URL via this survey so that they can investigate ASAP.
Once I hear back from the team on when the improvements to the generator are complete, I'll follow up with you here. Appreciate you posting! Stay tuned for my next update. :3
I was on gestures add-ons when on Firefox, then realized unexpected -- any program can be more usable with this. So yeah, system-wide gestures
Example of my Edge-dedicated, count about 3x more not window-connected.
Yes, you can install Adguard. It is from a respectable company but it is not on the Play Store: https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html
Also is free for the use you're aiming for. Install the Adguard Extension (or use Adward for Windows) on the Desktop for maximum integration.
If you go under History there should be a "Recently closed" section from which you could restore all of them. If not, you're probably out of luck getting them all back in one go. You'r only other option is opening full History and searching and scrolling.
You might want to use a session manager extension that lets you (auto)save tabs and recover sessions. I recommend https://tabler.one/features/restore-tabs-chrome/
I second this, LanguageTool is fantastic. I use it in college for all of my writing. (Even this comment) I have never used Grammarly, so I cannot comment on the differences there, but LT was cheaper and open source.
But I suggest you should try new Dev channel. It is updated to latest chromium version, and it will receive new features faster.

I really like the new Edge it's actually really good. However before I can make it my primary browser 2 things have to happen. They have to give me the ability to change my search engine. I cannot find where to change it and I don't want to use Bing for privacy/tracking issues. I use DuckDuckGo. The other is that all of my favorite extensions must become available for it. I know its been less than a week and it takes time but extensions like HTTPS Everywhere, DuckDuckGo, Privacy Badger, NordVPN or my Bitdefender extension just aren't available yet. Still, its just the beginning and a big step in the right direction.
I use NordVPN. It blocks all ads, even youtube videos. In that way I do not need a web extansion. Web extansion are the worst for computer security, because they always introduce a severe attack surface, so malware can infect you much easier. I use NordVPN only because it is great for blocking ads. On my phone it also blocks ads in apps, like in games, Tinder, Badoo and so on. That it hides my IP is only a plus. But if I want the highest level of integrity with no fingerprinting at all, it is only TOR browser that works.
1 - Open Regedit
2 - Go to *Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\*
3 - Create a new Key called Edge
4 - Click the newly created Edge folder
5 - Add a new DWORD value (32) called
6 - Set the value to Hexadecimal value 0
7 - Restart the browser

Not a direct answer to your question, but I'd like to just say that it might be worth considering looking into this free service.
Sadly, adding to collections eats needless CPU and slows Edge down, if you have more than a few dozen items in a collection. Maybe you should fix this issue first.
Also, I find the previously announced workspaces feature much more useful, and I hope that it's still in development.
As a stopgap I'm currently using the tabXpert extension.
Use what you like. But to correct something you wrote, I said Vivaldi's tab stacks are superior, and they are. And it's not just me saying it's tech journalists like Scott Gilbertson at WIRED saying it, too.
Vivaldi can do vertical tabs, horizontal tabs, tabs at the top or the bottom, and (this is the biggie) two-level tab stacks, where you drag related tabs on top of each other to group them. This feature is amazingly useful, and for those of us who keep open multiple tabs on multiple subjects at the same time a real time-saver. There's nothing like it on other browsers.
Vivaldi also has a "hibernate tabs" feature, similar to Edge's "sleeping" tabs. Same thing, really. But there are many more useful features built into Vivaldi that users will use all the time once they realize they are there, like the feed reader for subscribing to podcasts, the email client, a built-in translator, community themes and so on.
I stay in this sub to keep up to date on what Edge has to offer. But it's not close to Vivaldi in terms of productivity, for me anyway.
Hey, friend! I'm sorry to see any frustrations with password generating! This is something known by the team and they are working on improving it. In the meantime, when you run into a website that doesn't have the option to create a password for you, please submit that site via this survey so that the team can know right away and look into it!
I'm tracking this thread along with the others to let you all know once I hear that the improvements have been implemented. Keep an eye out for my next update! :3
If you're doing scientific testing, perhaps you want to run some browser memory reduction snake oil like https://www.rizonesoft.com/downloads/firemin/ both before and after you discard/replace tabs, to see how much memory can be recovered in a more forceful manner.
Keep in mind a civilised operating system will retain memory until it is needed elsewhere, which makes benchmarking required memory more complicated than just looking at task manager numbers.
Months ago some developer uploaded but deleted the link later
" I have removed your link.
As this is an offline installer, explicit permission is required from Microsoft. "
you can see here..
Yes, they are indeed disappointing for exactly the reason you mentioned.
But also, because
· the NewTab button is at the bottom of the list and therefore moves constantly - putting it at the top would have meant there was always a single place to click for a new tab.
· the tab bar isn't resizable - it would be nice to be able to expand it sometimes to read more of the tab titles.
· there is no visual link between the current tab and the displayed page
· it's weird that the back button is now to the left of the tabs.
Overall, it's nice they are thinking about migrating to vertical tabs, but some work remains.
For reference, this is more what I was expecting: https://imgpile.com/images/uOfhhc.png
Not really a solution on fixing it in Edge, but could always give third party apps a go for YouTube (mainly cause the website is just outright sluggish). I personally use My Tube! which allows popping out the player into a floating window and is pretty neat.
likely a strain of a malicious program as implied by the name “java_edg”
Unless you have end devices that don't support DoT or DoH, you don't need to link your IP. Any recent enough mobile device supports either or both of those protocols. On desktop browsers like Edge, use the SecureDNS option along with something like uBlockOrigin, or, use the NextDNS desktop client with your configuration. No IP linking is needed in these cases.
You only need to link IP if you want router level adblocking for stuff like smart TVs and maybe really old devices that don't support DoT or DoH.
I personally am not that paranoid about IP linking as I think NextDNS's privacy policy is pretty simple and solid.

i still need to grasp how cdn tracking works, but it does seem to load pages a tiny bit faster, and i'm always for that!
> built-in dark mode
excellent find! and various modes of selective inverting colours is very cool, though i think i like the first basic one the best.
i'm also blocking dns requests to ad-sites using the hosts file in windows. i'm using steven black's enormous list, but some sites are not listed (mostly sites popular outside the usa). to manually find out which domains are being requested, i found this cool extension "domain blocker" that even lets you block it on just the browser itself

Hey, friend! I'm sorry to see any installation issues on Windows 7! Which version of Edge are you attempting to install? We have our Stable version here, but we also have Insider channels that you could be downloading. Could you share an image of the error you are seeing now that you've done the support steps, please? This will help me figure out our next steps.
I look forward to chatting with you! :3
I'm sorry to hear about this issue. The team has been working on a fix for this issue. Are you still encountering this difficulty? If so, please let me know the exact version you are currently on, as well as whether the issue happens on Canary, as well. You can download Canary here. Canary will have the latest updates being tested and can be the swiftest way to see the current state of the application. Once you verify whether you're still having the difficulty, I'll be glad to see what else I can do.
Thank you for your time, and I wish you all the best. Have a great day!
I'm sorry to hear that this is happening. Can you please try downloading the Dev and Canary versions, to verify whether the issue happens on them, as well? It is my hope that you can sync your device more effectively on these versions.
Please let me know if that resolves the issue, and if whether you have any other questions. Have a great day!
-Ben
Hello! I'm sorry to hear this is happening. The team is working on improvements to this version of the app. My request is that you try out the Microsoft Edge Canary and Microsoft Edge Dev versions of the browser. These are where the team tests out fixes to the app, and your experience there will let us know if recent updates have addressed the issue.
Please let me know if those versions address this, and I'll be glad to respond further. Thank you so much, and have an excellent day!
-Bem
Edge Stable is dead tbh
Check Canary
Just for testing purposes
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.emmx.canary
New Edge will get released to Stable later I guess
>extras like VPN, Pocket suggestions, Screenshots, etc. that's virtually unmatched, be either Chrome or Edge.
Whaaaaaaaat?
You know their VPN is just Mullvad right which you can separately buy?
And Edge has screenshots like your post says?
And forgive me, but Pocket is crap IMHO
Hey, friend! Super sorry on the delay here, and I appreciate you poking this.
I meant to follow up a couple weeks ago, and I apologize for not coming around then. With training up Ben, the new CM, and helping coordinate a couple of releases (including this one I'm about to point out) has put me pretty far behind in my follow ups. However! We have recently rolled out the new updated app on Android, and you should be able to sync everything there once you install it. Can you install the new Dev app on your device to test out sync there? I have seen that some people need to sign out and sign back in again after setting the app up to get sync fully set up, but at that point you should be set. Let me know if this gets you back in a good state, or if we need to dig further with the team here. :)
Hello! Thank you for reporting this, and I'm sorry to hear you're encountering this issue. I'm going to investigate things on my end, but I'd also like to ask you for some further information. If you don't use NordVPN, do you still experience this issue? As well, does it affect other CAPTHA sites? If it's just Hulu, can you please you post a screenshot of the test when it's working in other browsers? This will help me to understand what's not activating.
I appreciate your time and hope to get this resolved soon. Have a great day!
Hey, Fred, I appreciate you trying this suggestion out and also updating how it (didn't) help out. This gives me a bit more context. I am sorry to see that you are experiencing this, it's something I've been tracking.
I'm not sure if you've given this a shot, but someone else mentioned it in the comments here. We recently rolled out our updated apps on Android in both Canary and Dev flavor. Have you tried out either of those yet to see if it helps improve the heating? I have seen some people say it has not helped them out, so if it doesn't help you I'd love to gather more details from your side of things to share with the team. :)
Thanks for posting, and I look forward to chatting more! :3
I've had something sort of similar occur, I've had some GPU driver issues (at least that is the conclusion I have drawn) with Steam and ProtonVPN for some reason which cause various elements of other apps (most noticeable Edge) to become pixelated or blurry.

Next time this happens start closing other apps and see how it goes.
>Microsoft’s own “Continue on PC” is great (not sure if available on play store)
Your Phone Companion is the app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.appmanager
Hey, friend! I'm sorry to see any frustrations around Continue on PC. This is one of those situations where I believe u/eduardobragaxz is accurate, Edge on iPad is currently more like Edge legacy rather than the new Edge (this is the same for Android tablets, not just iPads). The team is in the process of bringing the mobile (both phone and tablet) experience up to parity with our desktop versions, but don't have much to share around that at this time. I believe that there are versions of the Your Phone app (this is the Android version) that can help with this particular pain point, however I also know that iOS/iPad support for that app is a bit difficult to get working.
There is good news on the horizon! We are in the middle of rolling out history and open tab sync to everyone, which will help with this situation. When signed into the same account across devices, you should be able to access your browsing history and actively open tabs from any device. I know, this doesn't help you with the situation you're having now, but I wanted to ensure you were aware of where we are in the process.
Now, where does that put us? Well, I've added your thread (and voice!) to the chorus who have also asked about this experience to follow up once I know of more information. I unfortunately do not have a time frame for when I will have an update, but I will circle back here once I do. :3 Thanks for posting, and happy new year!
I'm on a mid 2014 mbpro with Big Sur and have no problems with Edge 664.47. Check your extensions. I use uBlock, Bitwarden, Google translate. I use NordVPN with Nordlynx protocol app. Check your network DNS settings. I use Cloudflare. Hope it's not a Mac model bug. Good luck!
It depends on the phone, but for OnePlus I'm using this app to force 90Hz for apps that doesn't natively ask for the higher refresh rate.
The team has had their coffee and got back to me!
There are no plans to have a daily build at this time, however your post has definitely started a conversation on the team around this. Thanks for posting and sharing your feedback! We do have the Beta version currently available that you are able to install on Android (I'm sure you're already aware, but there may be readers who aren't). Highly suggest you use that to see what features we're adding and to provide more feedback as you use.
I want tab animations like vivaldi for android.
I am switching to a device with high refresh rate and app animations is where the display really excels.
Use a VPN, https everywhere and DoH or DoT, NOT in the US.
Only connect to VPN servers outside the US.
Make sure your VPN provider hq is in Panama 🇵🇦.
NordVPN is based in Panama, as the country has no mandatory data retention laws and does not participate in the Five Eyes or Fourteen Eyes alliances.
Or use TOR. Or get off the grid. And move to bumfuck, egypt or the darkside of the moon.
