If anyone hasn't heard about the thought extinct species of insect found on Ball's Pyramid then you should.
Photographers: Andreas Mierswa and Markus Kluska
Art Direction: Bjoern Ewers
> For this image, Mierswa and Kluska rented a bass that was in repair and had an open top from a violin maker in Munich. They injected smoke into the bass to exaggerate the beams of light. (Source)

That's 2 whole hours of darkness per day. No thanks, I like having a functional circadian rhythm.
Its amazing that an area so large and beautiful exists so near all the expensive SF bay real estate.
There is a 29 mile hike, with 7000 ft of elevation gain, that you can do through this area - either in one long day, or as a overnight backpacking trip; I think you cross like two roads for the entire trail, and barely see any structures. This picture really is representative of the trail.

and here's a mountain that looks just like it!
Get yourself some pepper spray. It's a huge comfort knowing you can defend yourself, but it isn't quite so dramatic as a gun or a knife.

Well I was in Lisbon too. Things did cool down a bit in Porto but it was still scorching. Add on no air conditioning and lots of bodies and trust me it was no fun.
In many places in Lisbon there was no air conditioning in the restaurants so we tried to eat outside as much as possible (not necessarily a bad thing).

If you have a capable 4x4 try the Devils Canyon OHV trail on your way up Mt. Evans. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/devils-canyon-4x4-road
There's also some really nice camping spots back there also, and it's free.
Yes, the fact that it's a photo stock image that's been edited with a storm front moving in.
I'm waiting for OP's confirmation on whether this photo is OC or not. Reverse image search on TinEye shows this probable source as the closest match.
