I would have the exhaust fans at the top, and intake at the bottom on the opposite side
If you put those lights at the top you’d have to put something under the pots to raise em up, but you probably already know that
Here’s a more powerful qb style light that can be hung and raised/lowered
I suggested this light because I have it and it fits in a pc case, and you have a small dresser which is similar but wider, maybe go for a 12inx12in qb
They do put out some heat though, I would recommend 2 80mm exhaust 1 80mm intake minimum
There’s also full spectrum leds that are encased in an enclosure with fans like blurples, the fans help with the heat. Oh and of course there’s blurples. Don’t want to summon the blurple haters though haha
Placing the strip lights at the top of the cabinet would give you the most vertical space, but again you probably already know that lol
If you want to go with the strip lights I would get two sets. Also, if you weren’t already planning to you should tie them down like a freak, 16” is pretty short even for a pc case, my tower is 26.5” and its still not that much
Here is a 1000w for $69.99.. They had a 300w one for $39.99 at one point, but I can't find it at the moment..
I'm not talking 3D medical or* bone clone branded models, I'm talking about these cheaper anatomically accurate resin models.
It could work for sure. I often think the same things about these enclosures for 3d printers but ultimately I don't see the point of nano grows, especially when you can get a 2'x2'x4' for dirt cheap.
Yeah I read ur first comment and was like hol up I don’t think that’s right and then u got corrected and I thought to myself A fucking Toadaso
Anyway I just bought this cheap led panel that claims 150W but I’m not sure how truthful that is
https://www.amazon.com/Spectrum-Vegetable-Succulents-Multiple-Connected/dp/B07T66B1T2
Yeah I’ll agree 1 oz in 1 cubic foot is a bit of a challenge idk it’s more just to entertain myself than anything else but I think this light is more than enough for this space so it might make more sense to use
Oh good lord.. Yeah im currently using some flower oil to add to the smell. Living situation is tough/risky got family with me which must not know nd its starting to reek..
Yeah i believe i saw ur posts and tried to contact you. Couple times. Anyway if I was not able to get a carbon filter do u think something like this would work https://www.amazon.com/Purifier-Washable-Pre-Filters-Particle-Allergens/dp/B073WJDQMN Thats if i was able to find something similar locally.. And something quite aswell is necessary... Im overwhelmed
Sure! Mine look like these I’ve got two 50w bulbs and two 80w bulbs. But from what I could find in Amazon these bulbs are also cheap and way more sellers have these, also they have more watts. So those second ones are the ones I would personally buy but that’s just me. If you buy the first ones you can remove the cap so the bare leds are more potent. Again, I’m no expert and this is my first grow so these are just my two cents of experience! I hope it helps.
Nice work so far! honestly though you just want to get a tent and a 100w grow light panel. if you want to get any real product. if you need it to be really small i'll link a 2x2x36 grow tent. same price as the 2x2x48 ones though.
I'll just say the reviews are not great. Apparently a bunch arrived a little bent. Mine came in yesterday evening and all the pieces seem in tact.
Here is the spray I have been using:
8 oz/240 ml Silver Thiosulfate... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NB19W6H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Works great and you don’t need a lot. Just one more benefit of nano growing
This kit has worked reasonably well enough for me in the past for pH. You can get the test drops for like 10 bucks or less if you already have other stuff to raise or lower pH. Like I said in my other comment, make sure you test the runoff water with whatever you have sometimes too not just the input water. Those can be very different.
You can test your fertilizer concentration with a cheap TDS meter. There are even cheaper ones that are probably also fine but I've personally had a good experience with this one. If you're testing runoff water too, that can help give you an idea if it's been getting too much
Thank you! Main photos were taken with a Canon 5D mark iii and 100mm macro. Trich shots are a Wireless Digital Microscope
Lots of light and no movement are the key to these macro shots.
something like this is actually not bad as a cheap option to grow under, ideally 4000k to 5000k in colour. I use a few of these I have spare to supliment my grow lights for better coverage at the sides
The sale is over and It’s at $70 now, it’s still cheaper than the sf-1000 at that price so still some savings,But Here you go anyways
Here it is,but if I were you I’d go with a more reputable brand at the current price, looks like the sale ended.
Based on the product description, it would probably be okay for kitchen herbs or something, but probably not enough for flowering cannabis:
> Avg. Watts: 27W
It's a 27 watt light, with obsolete grow light tech. You might do better spending the same amount on LED light bulbs.
What type of lights are those? My guess is that those bulbs aren't putting out enough light for the plant. There are lights designed to put out a higher intensity light specifically for growing.
For example, I just picked up one of these LED boards off of Amazon for my 2x2 tent

No problem. I used tinkercad to whip it up. I'm not sure how sharing works there but this was the link I was able to get: https://www.tinkercad.com/embed/59t7sCKYDz1

unfortunately it looks like they are unavailable. I got them for starting vegetable seedlings inside, growing weed with them was an afterthought.
Yep! I found some nice fan shrouds, I printed them out last week in preparation of my case arriving. I had planned on using this fan with my printed carbon filter
I’m just learning how to use it, so that’s probably why :)
Do they seem clear to you in the pictures?
It goes from 100-1000x I believe. Here is a link to the one I bought. STPCTOU Wireless Digital... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M97SRFN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
What do you think of this for a membrane?
oh interesting, asked the guy there and he doesn't know shit about anything, not sure how he's hired.
thanks alot for sharing.
about the height, I've dealt with the same height 2 runs in my current grow box so it won't be and issue. I'm almost leaning towards buying another from the internet such as this one below that i found.

Yes I dont really now the real wattage but it said its 1000Watts, this is the light
I downloaded the app, where do you put the bubblewrap? Around the pot? Or? Im new with plants so im noob 😅
This Light is also a good option for a single, cheap, decent efficiency light.
I picked up one of these for a window grow and have been happy with it. You might hate having a bright light during dark hours though. That’s partly why so many people use tents.

It’s all a learning curve brother. Yes the light is held with tape haha I will put some string on it today.
The “fresh” air comes from the front there is about an inch gap at the top of the door where the fan is hanging from.
It’s a CBD flower so hopefully the smell isn’t too bad however this isn’t an issue…
Here is my light if you could let me know if this will be suffice? Thank you

looking good, on your next grow use a disposable cup with a few holes cut on the bottom. shes gonna need to be transplanted and its going to be difficult removing her from that clay pot, that's why a lot of people use red solo cups for seedlings. do you have fan set up? make sure its blowing directly on a wall and not directly on the plant so it doesn't get windburn. i suggest watching how often you're watering too, let the soil dry out between waterings, like once every other day or wait 2 days between waterings. see that white stuff on your dirt, that's look like its mold and your gonna want to nip that in the bud asap. overwatering causes this, so let the soil dry out between waterings and a fan. if left uncorrected you may experience root root and/or fungus gnat infestation.
wait for the soil to dry out, a day or two, then mix 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to 1 cup of water and put that into a spray bottle. spray the plant and the soil with the solution. do this like every 2-3 waterings.
keep an eye out for small little flies, if you start seeing them, those might be fungus gnats, they feed on mold growing in the soil off your plants roots. because shes a seedling, i would only recommend peroxide, but later down the line look at using cold pressed neem seed oil.
have you figured out what nutrients you are going to use? do you have a ph meter?
welcome to the hobby, its fun, can get expensive tho.

Is that no good? Discontinue that and switch to cal mag?
Saw you mentioned budget, just checked out super green labs. You really need to calculate "lumens per dollar".
There is nothing wrong with these lights but you are trading form over functionality and price compared to other "Quantum Boards".
You need to spend $350 for the 6 light package.
Spider Farmer SF1000 $160
yeah I was gonna get that small blower fan but then found an AC Infinity 120mm fan that pulls 52 CFM so I can move more air with 2 of these fans and a little standard PC fan about 125CFM (overkill but I'm worried about the case getting too hot and stressing plants)
I've got 4 standard Led lights each 8.5W total of 34w, I removed the blub covers (I DO NOT RECOMMEND REMOVING THE COVERS CAUSE IT'S VERY DANGEROUS) covered the LEDs with 422C Conformal Coating to stop dirt and moisture from getting on the exposed LEDs.
For the strains either Lemon OG kush (DNA genetics) or Glookies (Barney's farm)
I always want to find a place for a small blower fan when I look at a PC build. I’ve never actually done one. But I remembered them when I saw your taped over vent in the second pic.

That took forever to figure out too. My space is very small and the Mars hydro shit wasn’t working. I ordered like 8 different lights until I settled on this one. Shit has a dimmer so I can’t burn the plants anymore!

Honestly, once you get into this hobby you might as well buy something you'll keep for a while. I've heard good things about mars hydro but I've also heard that people switch to HLG or Spider Farmer afterwords. HLG lights are expensive, I'm loving my sf 4000 and sf 2000, if you can swing 160 I suggest this https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07TS82HWB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_8CDADNCXT1PAJ3P93V1J and a small fan. It's worth it to just take the leap. When I got in I was in a cabinet running a tiny blurple, 2 tents, 5 ac fans, and 6 lights later I'm comfortable saying it would've been worth getting what I wanted from the beginning. If you start with something closer to what you'll use later it will be easier.
Given the space OP has to work with I don't think you could fit LM301 style LEDs reasonably in there - Remember those LED's need to be 12-24 inches above the plants they're over or you risk potential bleaching/light burn
Might do better with some COB lights like these though.
It could be the roots aren’t getting enough oxygen. I’d try putting it in a bigger pot. A cloth one like one of these would work extra well because more oxygen can get into the soil: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TF9E6XE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XF5Z3STW2D3ZSJ2HNPTR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Also - nice pico! I just picked this little lamp to help a friend with a compact desk grow. The USB ports and plug (and directional shade and height adjustment) was too much in one place to pass up. Her desk is very pico. Nice work dude.
I have used the carbon sheet. Using it now.
16x48 cut to fit activated carbon filter ~$11 amazon
Cut a small square out to put on the exhaust vent on a small space tote. Totally works. I took the front grate off on an ac infinity fan and poked the mounting screws through a piece of the filter cut to shape. And screwed it back together. I was doing it to try to block any pollen from ending up outside of that tote. But the smell is noticeably better. But I also wasn’t deep in flower yet.
I think you pull the fan and filter itself outside of your box. So it is venting the air that it is drawing out of the box into the room (maybe under your cabinet mounted sideways and close to the back-if there is room provided by the legs).
Basically you would only need to consume the space needed for pulling the air out. Maybe a vent like this gets you thinking.
Or try looking at a “dryer vent periscope”.
They make some awesome magnetic $40 mounts for dryer vents that I have on a wish list but can’t justify yet.
I think you have the right tool for the job. But might just want to rethink it.
But to answer your question. If you didn’t have a filter already, And you had an $11 budget for an activated carbon filter, I would 100% recommend you buy one and begin filtering your exhaust out with it. It will take you longer to figure out that the Velcro would be helpful than it will to actually mount it into a fan vent.
Pop a couple of these on the top and then wrap the whole box in led strips off amazon preferably grow light strips but some people dont use em. Youll get way better yeild
Unfortunately not because it is designed for brewing beer over ph testing nutrient solutions and water. Apera sells a highly accurate value series tester but it doesn’t have a replaceable probe but with home use you’ll probably get at least 2 years out of the thing and Apera is a USA company that has a factory warranty you just have to register the product once you buy it.

Light wired to a weekly timer. Fan wired to a potentiometer to keep noise low. All wired up to a surge protector cube.
Took a lot of time to buffer, flush, PH and EC monitor the coco, but I think it's about right now. 0.47mS/cm and 5.7PH.
Fearing humidity as my city and home are very humid, salt Build-up as I won't be able to water to run off, overgrowing and eventually smell.
For now, it is what it is! I'll keep yall updated. Pray for me! 🙏😁
Perfect! Thanks :) I’ll use those, do you know what real wattage to look for my space?
Edit: Would 4 of these 2700k LED bulbs be too much?
Thank you for your thoughtful response man!
Height is kinda limited so I thought cfls would take too much space. Would this LED LED panel be too powerful for my setup?
I’d be ecstatic with 13-15g’s dry but aiming for at least 10!
Thanks again for the help
I am by no means am expert, but I grew a plant with the attached light for 2 months. It turned out to be male, but the light did work. Idk if home depot sells it but here it is on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0816BYS95?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I went cheap first cause I was on a tight budget and got a generic fan and filter kit for 100 bucks. It wasn’t horribly loud but I have my tent in my bedroom, so I didn’t like to try and adjust to a constant whine from an unbalanced fan. If you’re not going to be right next to it try this kit on amazon
Thats a four in model (closer to 100) the six inch is more. Ultimately I ended up getting of the AcInfinity t series fans and it’s perfect for being in my room in close quarters.
My buddy is starting his first micro/nano stealth grow in his closet. He did a bunch of research and is going with this home theater cabinet fan off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-AIRPLATE-Cooling-Cabinets/dp/B009COAEUG?th=1
I can't speak for how quiet it actually is, but my understanding is that the noise it makes would be very faint. To cut smell you can tape a carbon filter pad over the opening on the inside of your grow box rather easily.
Got them off Amazon and they are named differently depending on the seller. Red+white @2700k, 20w total, these are really nice lights for only $20 text
You could always buy a carbon filter and fan kit and then just install the filter on the outside of your box, obviously making sure to set the fan as an exhaust.
Although I haven’t tried them personally, I hear nothing but good things about air pots Superoots
Yeah I’ve been to spacebucket.com. Seemed like the strips were more for side lighting than anything, but I’ll have another look.
This was the unit I found
