What you need is a new home app, called a launcher in the play store. Most of them are free apps, but you'll have to pay to get the premium features etc.
I would highly recommend Nova launcher, plenty of customization options for you! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
There are others that are good too... I've heard good things about apex launcher...adw...action launcher... Just search for launchers on play store and make sure they are compatible with nougat
Probably this one: Useless Web (31.0.2) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tilseier.uselessweb
Has tons of reviews saying that it contains malware, adware, interrupts you with ads, etc.
No idea why anyone would install an app like that even without the adware...
It comes from an app android.umeng, installed with several smartbuld/smarthome apps that seem to be made by the same developer, just branded differently, two for example iview ihome or Smart Life . It causes popups and browser changes so do not install and return the product if it comes with this malware ridden junk
Honestly, I'd recommend just deleting the official app and going with Swipe. Offers way more control over sync frequency, looks better than the official app, and doesn't spy on you. Honestly, at this point, it's pretty much better than the actual FB app in every way.
Everyone in this thread should give the Google App a 1 star review in the play store with their feedback on this change.

nothing... they pushed a firmware update and if you are out of warranty they don't care. check the google camera app reviews: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera&hl=en_US&gl=US&showAllReviews=true
Have you tried downloading a different keyboard,? Ive always used SWIFTKEY keyboard and never experienced this issue. Never even heard tuntil now.

You will have to pick Amazon.com seller as it defaults to lowest priced. Scroll down a little and pick "certified refurbished (5) from" then choose from Amazon and add to cart.
I bought this when I got my 4xl
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VCJHS76/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_2ED2DbQXQ2Y05
Comes in a 4-pack and with an alignment tray (I've been skeptical of these in the past but it really worked perfect) plus Omotion has a pretty good track record on Amazon. The first one I tried had a bubble, so I took it off and tried again and still had a bubble but decided I'd live with it and save the other 2 for just in case. Within 24 hours the bubble worked itself out and it's now flawless, I probably could have left the first one I tried. I use it with a Spigen clear case and it's been perfect so far. For let than $10 bucks I'm extremely satisfied
That's not right lol. I use this app to reset the battery stats. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.roggstar.batterycalibrator
I always do it after flashing a rom then drain and charge to 100%. It's like the stats always get messed up, even on stock roms. Needs root of course. All it does is delete the batterystats.bin file. I get more accurate readings that way and it's what I'll be doing to test. If your phone lasts all day, it's just reading the percentage wrong. Doesn't affect the battery life. I had a Moto X that was at 4% and it hadn't turned off an hour and a half later lol.
Download this app
Open system UI tuner
Tap on status bar icons
Tap on headphones icon
If you have a headphone icon up there, there’s probably lint in it, clean it until the icon is gone.
You should be able to hear now
You can test anywhere. Put the phone, camera down, on a flat surface. Open the camera app and put it into night sight mode. It will complain about focus for a few seconds but "astrophotography on" should pop up on the screen within a few seconds. Obviously, you can't take a pic like that, but you can see that it will activate. I bought this tripod mount for phone from Amazon to attach my phone to a tripod. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BBNSGR6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_657.EbR9W6P56
This is the smallest fast charging charger I have found
noot products Wall Charger for Google Pixel/Pixel XL/2/2 XL/3/3 XL/3a/3a XL -18W PD Power Delivery 3.0 USB C Rapid Charge Adapter with Braided 6ft USB Type C to C Fast Charging Cable Cord https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KGHVR1C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CxBeDbC1GGPY3
As a truck driver I like my wife to be able to see where I am at all times in case of an emergency. We have been using a family locator app to do this. Problem was on my pixel xl the tracking app would show no gps for me. I downloaded gps keeper app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.webmajstr.gpson to keep gps active all the time. I have noticed a slight battery drain, but as I keep my phone on charger almost all the time its not a big deal.
This is the protector I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N63XLQ6/
It covers the full screen, and current one has survived since November. The previous one (same model) lasted only 3 months before it got a crack in it, which I'm not sure how it happened.
(Edit: grammar)
Here it is! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E1UWA4O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DjgDAbDA2YE9X
It works really well, I always plug my phone in now when I drive even short distances cuz it gives quite a bit of charge.
Be careful with Spigen. I got this case so the speakers would be directed towards me. Cool. Except... on the models with the clear bumper it just fires the speakers down! Nobody mentions it and the dildos on YouTube who reviewed it never mentioned that fact. Junk. Returned it.

Doubt it is an early first batch, read the reviews and a couple of people reported that the cuts would make the image blurry. After reading this, I took the case off and my video problems were solved. So I did what they did and that was cut the hole bigger. Just so we are clear the camera hole isnt what im referring to, its the sensors on the right. The three dots. Think of it as horse blinders, the sensors can see forward but the blinders are not helping. Once I cut the holes out it got rid of the constant blurriness. Not related to this issue, the case broke, the plastic part is flimsy and will sustain a drop, but at the right angle it will break and mine did. I went with the caseology case which feels so much better and looks nicer in my opinion. The plastic seem firmer and the cutouts were nice and big. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M99JRPN/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got this one from Spigen and really like it. I have the Black XL and the cutout is nice. It's a two piece case with a clear first layer and a gunmetal outer layer. It's not slippery. It's also down to $10 right now.
These cost a bit more than you are planning on spending, but I can't recommend the earbuds enough. I haven't gotten the ones with the mic in them, but the regular ones are my go to and the only "problem" I have with them is remembering where I put the filters when they need to be changed.
I just bought Supershieldz off Amazon and it works pretty well. The only problem is the black border is hard to line up with a black phone so I notice sometimes that I put it on a little to close to the border of the screen. Works well so far.

I haven't used a case on a phone since my HTC Advantage, but ordered this Tauri leather wallet/kickstand case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LQ4K20Q/
My reasoning:
1) It's only $10
2) It protects the screen without having to put a plastic cover over it
3) The leather kickstand case on my (now dead) 7" tablet was very useful, and I bought the XL specifically to help fill that void
4) My wallet is starting to fall apart so it will let me try out combing the functionality
5) Only $10!
You might try this, I've never used it but may be of help. Small utility app to quickly check the status of the Google Play services. It shows the version number, installation date and date of the last update. It also provides links to the Play Store, APK Mirror, developer release notes, and the app info dialog.
The app can be used to install or update the Google Play services.
