The good:
your eyes are very good, well done with the colour transition, the wings are the perfect thickness and lenght - you are lucky to have very open eyes. I also like the purple under.
Your eyebrows have a good shape
I think the foundation colour matches you well
The bad:
As pointed the others: your foundation. I think the problem starts with the fact that your skin has a lot of texture. I used to have exactly the same skin as you and what helped me was physical exfoliation, I use exactly those https://www.amazon.co.uk/Korean-Italy-Towel-Exfoliating-Washcloth/dp/B00LGLOKLM Korean Italian towels. They make my skin very smooth and get rid of the dead skin, therefore I break-out less.
Secondly, I also think you have a dry skin. At first glance your skin looks oily but I think it is because dry skin tends to overproduce oil (since it is starved of it), therefore making it super oily after few hours.
The foundation itself is a bit too thick, my trick with foundation is to avoid putting any above my lips (it never looks good unless photoshopped) and less on my nose, forehead and under my eyes / nos bridge. This way you can still put loads on your cheeks and around your chin without looking 'too much'.
I think it would have been really good if you used powder on a top of your foundation - it gives your skin a cleaner and more matte look, getting rid of shiness coming from oily foundation. I think aloso a tiny bit of blush / bronzer on your cheeks, nose and forehead would have been perfect!
Lastly, your eyebrows. They are a very good shape, you you have that. However I think you should try to make them more subtle. Try not to draw your eyebrows and fill it 100%, but accent them. Make them a bit more natural

Thank you all so much in advance!
to elaborate a bit...
i like to store my mac bullets upside down. i mean, really? 100+ black bullets and ive gotta pickup at least 10 each time to figure out which color i need? and thats only if ive got colors or finishes "zoned" in the organizer! so for forever they have been upside down and hanging to the side desperate for a fix. then it sorta hit me one day as i knocked them all over my floor exclaming "stupid bullets, ugh! $@!%" for the umteenth time... bullets... buuuullets... BULLETS!!!
away to google we go!
i found this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0YvclNr-c8
turns out im not the only genius with an obsession. ;)
the clear ones she had were almost as expensive as the acrylic storage containers i was planning to replace.. however, army green was a whopping $3.39 on amazon (link right herrrrrr) so! they finally arrived, ive got my spray paint ready to go and a weekend project to boot! couldnt be more excited.. so i had to share of course!
hope this helps someone out! stay beautiful ya'll!
Placeholder until I finish breakfast.
Edit: Breakfast done! My favorite Christmas movie also includes my favorite song! I LOVE Nutcracker: The motion Picture. (You may find I've posted about this love several times on various subs lol) The costumes and scenery were done by Maurice Sendak and i find that his touch ads a little bit of that scary-wonder to the whole ballet. My favorite scene in the movie is during what would normally be the Arabian variation, they switch it up and have a dancer come out in a cage dressed as a mother fuckin' peacock. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. So here's the video of the scene (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/hl-12804981/nutcracker_the_motion_picture_arabian_dance/) my interpretation album of the peacock. http://imgur.com/a/vAvAL
I'm now going to wash every single one of my brushes.
Wohoo! Thanks for doing this you guys. I finally did my look and liked my eyeshadow so much I wore it in public for realzies :) Not so much the lipstick or eyebrows though haha.
Edit: Here's my intro just.. for easy findings.
I'm not sure what to call it. It's not red, but it's not quiet mauve, but it's not a pure burgundy. But saying "burgundy, mauve, red lip" Just doesn't roll off the tongue quiet as well. haha. It definitely has a little more red to it irl. My pics are always a little washed out.
Edit: The earrings are fake gauges. I'm a big fat phony!! Similar to These
Ohhhhhh myyyyy gawwwddd!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much girly! You are an amazing person!!! My 1st high end palette... I must be dreaming! Much love to you Ambskiii.
Wow so many nail polish posts lately! I looooove it :) I haven't had time to paint mine this week but these are my last few NOTW
I've stopped biting my nails so much haha I'm surprised how much better my nails look right now
Edit: forgot the word, whoops. mynailsareawesome!
You can buy it here. It would be between the seller and Disney if there was an issue, but since there is no use of logos or images, I doubt there will ever be a problem.
It's super hard to get the right shape! My lips are kinda like the girl in this album that was posted the other day, in the sense that my lip part ends but I still have that little "ledge" and I'm never sure if I should fill that in or what... argh. Haha!
I found this link on MUA that says Costco is selling Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics for $22.99 shipped. I'm not a Costco member, so I can't confirm the pricing.
Hope this isn't too sad, but this guy was my furbaby :(
His name was Lulu, my first pet ever, and he was a hamster. Always thought they didn't get attached to people, but I swear he liked being in my lap and didn't let others even pick him up! Cutest guy ever, but I left for a week and my mom put him in a free room with food and water so he could roam around, but the wind must have blown the door open and he escaped into the garden- the house was in a very secluded place anyway (a country home), once we caught him as he went out the door, but that time was final :(
I sometimes like to imagine he grew friends with a field mouse (it was summer), lived in a field and survived the winter by gathering food together...
FurBabies :)
I've actually been eyeing these up because I really want to get them. Can I ask what the difference are with the ones you've linked compared to these ones?. $80 for the 5pc set normally seems a little steep when its $30 on amazon for a 10pc set?
I have a picture from today! :D
I'm wearing my Wet N' Wild Megalast Lipstick in Mauve Outta Here. It's one of my favorite lipsticks. It's so long lasting and just the most beautiful pinky nude.
So u/a_wild_dena_appears has launched her new makeup line, AFK Cosmetics! This is one of her new shadows, Solar Flair!
Other products: *Arbonne mineral foundation in Medium *Urban Decay eye primer in Original *Arbonne mascara in Black *LORAC eyeliner in Black *LORAC eyeshadow in Black *Arbonne eyeshadow in Vanilla *Ulta blush in Flush *Arbonne lipstick in Jam
ALSO I did my brows for pretty much the first time ever! I've had them done by a friend before, but it was super intimidating and I have a super-squirrely left eyebrow, so I never attempted it myself. CCW! I used LORAC Sable.
I decided to include a quick chart of what I'm using today. I've been into making eye/face charts for a while, but usually never share them. Hope you like it! Also, I'm not using any concealer today since I'm having a super good skin day, so I decided to skip it.
Products:
I forgot to add the mascara I'm using to the pic, but it is Marc Jacobs in Velvet Noir
Oh this is fun! I actually just tried a look adding white liner to my lower waterline and skipping my usual brown liner. I was trying to do a natural look/just playing around and it ended up making my eyes feel more open and awake :)

It was so amazing. I could totally move there. We were near Manzanillo - about a 3 hour flight from LA. Stayed a week, but it wasnt long enough for me. ;) Lorac Platinum...whaaaaat?!!
I really like "reddit is fun" for my app! A lot of people do use the official reddit app but I personally didn't like it as much. I prefer the way things are set up on reddit is fun. I also highly recommend downloading reddit enhancement suite on your computer. That makes things much easier computer-wise :)
Not sure if you are into indies, but I just got this and it is just swell. https://www.etsy.com/listing/161877639/red-eye-shadow-primary-red-loose?ref=related-0
Swatched here, below the yellow at the top: http://imgur.com/R7yfN3T
Omgggg thank you for linking! This colour is amazing, though it'd never wear it. All their colours are...omg wow.
Yes, PayPal is fine, and I can probably have it in the mail on Saturday! PM me so we can work out details?
Haha, I'm not speaking from experience. It's a theory I have though!
I'm pretty big on indie brands and /u/vitrol was kind enough to glam me some things I'd been eyeing from Performance Colors, an etsy shop you can find here. I think their prices are reasonable and they offer samples of pretty much everything so I'd recommend trying them out. Here are some swatches I did.
Makeup Cosmetic Empty 12 pcs Aluminum Magnetic Eyeshadow Eye Shadow Pigment Pans Palette Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C8R3A6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_bPlgub0JN1ZTG
This is it I think.
Edit...Except I just noticed the one she has is 15 pans not 12.
The clock is ticking..... Items
I had to raid my garage at midnight for that darn paperclip. Lol
I just got back last night from a weekend away with friends, so my day has been filled with three very attention hungry kitties!
I'd love to find a new renter this week. My SO and I can afford to rent on our own, but money's tight and we'd love some more wiggle room financially.
OK! Last minute entry here! I spaced the deadline... don't judge the way I look! lol or the potato quality video...Here you go! original song titled Player 2 God I hope this video works LOL
Belt it out! <3
I got these Multifunction Nail Art Accessories Display Storage Boxes from dx.com
I am a little embarrassed to say how complex my online makeup shopping is.
I have a pinterest board for things I want to read up on. If I see something on here and like it, I add it to pinterest. Eventually I look for swatches and read reviews on the product. If it makes the cut, I move it to the next list.
The second pinterest board, for products I want to actually purchase. I compare prices on all the sites, ulta, nordstrom, Sephora, drugstore.com, amazon, etc. I will pin the one that has the best price.
Then it moves to the favorites list on that website. I typically like to mull it over for a few days before I actually purchase, or wait until I have enough products to get free shipping.
When I am ready to actually purchase, I check out retailmenot for any coupon codes. Then I log into my MrRebates account. (this is just like Ebates, but I find that the rebate percentage is usually higher than those on ebates - I have been using this for 5 years now. I got a whopper of a rebate when I ordered my laptop from Apple)
Then I finally purchase. I was getting burned by such crap products when I impulse buy. The system I use is sort of over-the-top, but it really works for me. Typically I really like almost everything I purchase.
Hey, thanks for hosting this! :)
I just bought a fitbit. I realize that I've put on a ~~few~~ several pounds and I'm just not healthy anymore. I'm looking for ways to change my diet to include more water and vegetables, (not a fan). I don't have much energy and I think this will help. Also, I'm not getting any younger.
My partner and I are also talking about children and I'd rather start ahead than behind.
So this is step one to being healthy. (I have several steps here... but I feel good about putting my plan into motion!)
Awe, I love the zoo! I bet you'll have tons of fun!
My vanity used to be right next to our bed as well. I started playing sleep noises from this great website because it helps to mask outside noises. There are different noises you can choose from like waterfalls, white noise, nature sounds, etc. It helps you sleep when you live in a noisy city too!
Animal print lipstick?! I'm so excited to see that!
Wow, thanks for hosting this awesome giveaway. Pinkandtan, ecopink & bright are the ones I am interested in.
My favorite Spring recipe is an asain mandarin orange salad. Here is an online recipe with directions and more yummy add-ons if you're feeling adventurous.
If your looking for a simpler version I typically just used a bag of mixed greens from the market, La Choy chow mien noodles, a can of mandarin oranges (strained), chopped almonds and then some sesame-ginger vinaigrette. If you want more of a meal you could grill some chicken and add that in, it goes perfectly with all the flavors. Yum!
Hello! Wherever You Go, There You Are is a great beginner book for meditation. Guided meditations are helpful way of getting into meditation too (there's a lot on Youtube). The best advice I can give is that meditation is not about silencing your thoughts, it's about letting them go :)
colour? turquoise!
entree? I like all foods but right now I think I'd have to say steak, made by my boyfriend
dessert? um. everything. cheesecake. tiramisu. strawberry shortcake
movie? V for Vendetta <3
tv show? airing right now, probably Game of Thrones, but of all time it's a tossup between that and Lost
hobby? Theatre, but that's still semi academic, so COMPLETELY outside school would definitely be COOKING
animal? TAPIRS
place? The Amazon rainforest
lipstick? that's like picking a favorite child…
beverage? Gin and tonic with bitters, lime, and cucumber
flower? snapdragons
scent? sauteeing onions and garlic
band/musician? Hey Marseilles
beauty idol? Zooey Deschanel
candy? 3 Musketeers
actor?Joseph Gordon-Levitt
eye shadow color? that bitchin duo chrome shade in W&W's Comfort Zone palette.
instrument? cello is sexy
fashion designer? I'm not very familiar with a lot of designers
book? Oh gosh. That's quite a difficult question. Fault in Our Stars, Harry Potter series, GoT series, Life of Pi, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Road, Slaughterhouse Five, and Galapagos all come to mind. I have kind of all-over-the-place taste in books.
Chrono Crusade's Rosette Christopher. I love this series and this character SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. She's a nun with a gun and an attitude and a demon sidekick in '20s America. Even though the series is about Catholics waging a holy war on Pandemonium and her demonic servants, the story never gets religiously preachy; obviously, God is talked about, but for the most part it all stays on a noncommittal "good vs evil" playing field.
Rosette wears minimal makeup, with just a hint of smokiness around her eyes, so I played that up a tiny bit. I also added some blue to incorporate her habit. PS, if anyone finds me a quality prop of her pocket watch necklace, I'll love you forever. Anyway, here it is!
Took the timelapse from a horrible angle. Also I should have decided on what look I wanted to do, laid out my makeup so I could find it, and made sure my room mate wasn't going to walk in naked halfway through BEFORE I started filming...
Edit: The gif wasn't working I guess. video
Hi! I was super excited to see your post when I woke up this morning. I <3 RAoM exchanges! Here are my answers. I hope they help you out! :)
Favorite candy?
Non-chocolate: Smarties and Fun Dip
Chocolate: Twix, KitKat, and Snickers (though you really can't go wrong as long as there is no coconut!)
Favorite Disney character?
Elsa and Snow White (don't make me chose!)
Do you celebrate Valentines day?
Yes! My son is big on decorating for every holiday though for smaller holidays it's just window clings and a few trinkets on the entertainment center. My bf brings me flowers and chocolate as well as some sort of toy our son picked out. You know "for me" aka him. lol Depending if we have a babysitter or not, we will go to dinner/movie. Simple, but very appreciated!
I appreciate the info! I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff from Notoriously Morbid because of the 40%. I Tried to stay neutral and pick some more fun colors too. Hope I managed to. I think it's really hard to pick things you can't see right in front of you. I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at her shop last night and today lol
drools I'm waiting for a palette from MiniMintPalettes ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/MiniMintPalette ) She doesn't do the 12 pan size, her largest fits 9. I just ordered one of hers and I'm waiting until she gets some more of the larger ones. The few she has left have babies on them. >.>
I'm suuuuper excited!
edit Oook so now I'm waiting on TWO of her palettes. Whoopsies, my credit card must have slipped. >.>
I posted a B&A here using it, you can see how much fuller it made my super blonde brows!
Ooh, I'll have to check out Peach Parfait - I'm really into peachy nudes at the moment :)
Hi! I am also new here! Welcome! I use the BB and love it, but I have never used the RT sponge. I think if you go online you can probably find deals on the BB (I know Costco has an online deal, if you are in the US and have a membership, where you can get 2 for $29: http://www.costco.com/Beauty-Blender-Makeup-Applicator-Sponge-2-Pack.product.100247973.html ) The BB is very soft when damp and I feel it blends my foundation seamlessly. Try wetting your RT sponge and see it that yields better results.
Hey, this is super off topic, but I happened to see this on etsy the other day, and then your post popped up, and I had to show you!
That sounds awful :( How long do you have to wait to get your meds? Hope you get some relief soon! I just added this makeup pressing kit to my priority list... I have some very pretty shadows from Scaredy Cat Cosmetics and I don't like dealing with loose powder with my girls with sticky fingers hanging around my battlestation... lol. The samples come in the cutest little vials I've ever seen, though.
Hope you feel better soon, or at least are able to sleep through it.
I just purchased the Sleek i-Divine Mattes Brights (V1) Palette from Amazon last week. It arrived about four weeks early (!), and I am STOKED. I got it as a lesser alternative to UD Electric, and honestly, it's pretty great so far. The only thing is the shadows are just a LITTLE bit less opaque than Electric. The yellow is honestly rather comparable, which is saying a lot because yellow is hard to get right.
Also, guys. GUYS. This shadow DOESN'T. FUCKING. BUDGE. Even without the primer, it legitimately doesn't come off. It's still stuck on my damn arm, and it's been five hours since I swatched. Even the white is just as bright!
The quality is INSANE. And GUYS. I only paid $8.99, plus $2.50 shipping for it. ELEVEN FUCKING DOLLARS AND FORTY-NINE CENTS, Y'ALL.
So this is like, my best purchase ever. EVER. Buy it. Now.
I'm probably getting Acid or Snapshot next.
I hope I'm not too late! It's Rothke's Crazy Party Hat Time!
I have a few things on my wishlist, so I'll have to pick something, and update this comment. :) Thank you so much for hosting this contest! :)
EDIT: I just got out of the shower--don't mind my no makeup face! Also, He was absolutely NOT amused.
Welcome! What's your favorite higher end product?
I really like indie brands, they make some gorgeous shadows. I'm thinking about picking some up from the Chequered Lily soon. I saw some lovely swatches. What shades did you get, and which shop?
I just ordered a magnetic palette from anothersoul on etsy. I was so close to buying the materials to make my own (scrapbook paper, chipboard, foam board, magnetic sheets) but hers are so pretty!
Welcome to RAoM! :) I recently saw this collection based on Tangled that seems up your alley! I absolutely adore my pup (Daisy!) too. What are the names of yours?
Those are really cute, you matched the colors to the names well! I think I like the Wreck-It Ralph one best.
Also, I just got some samples of it in the mail, so I had to post this indie with a Tangled theme set. The colors are so pretty!
I just got a stamping plate and i have been practicing!
Also, I am also a part of Random Acts of Polish, and i like to keep my items for each separate, so here is a link to my RAoP wishlist
Omg that awesome congrats girl! That's an amazing achievement and Ty for celebrating it with all of us!
BIG MONEYYYY!
I've only tried this as a sample but fell in love with the way it works and feels on my skin. Smashbox primer is by far the favorite now just to take the plunge.
Sure! You're awesome for doing that, it was a fun little game! I'll add a link to a WL item. I'm waiting for my pay day Monday to do a giveaway tooooo.
L'Oreal HiP High Intensity Pigments Bright Shadow Duo, Showy 224 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KYO3PI/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SZnhub1XA1XZ7
I use plastic storage drawers, then little glass candle jars to hold my brushes. The plastic drawers that are like letter paper sized are awesome for storing palettes and then I use one of the drawers for all my brushes and hairties, combs and headbands.
Like these but two stacked ...
Sterilite 20439002 3 Drawer Medium Desktop Unit, Pack of 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006VPLR7S/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_iHIgub11D1MJY
You look great! Your skin in gorgeous so you have a great canvas. I'd recommend looking at more inspiration and practicing the look a few times with your costume on to scope out what shades/ colours you want for your makeup.
I really like this look http://pinterest.com/pin/AyI8LgAQwLEHJnQ3B8cAAAA/
Also it might be worth considering that details like the vines might take a long time to get perfect, but if you are set on doing them in your makeup, can I suggest getting a vine stencil? Then you could just sponge/ apply green makeup over the stencil so that you get a more precise look which will also be more symmetrical.
Also, if you are cosplaying with a red wig, I think it would look dynamite if you could get bright red brows going on too!
As a host, how ever you choose a winner is completely up to you. If you want to put the names in a hat and draw, that is fine!
If it is easier, a couple of members have mentioned Random.org that you might want to try.
Hope that helps!
I got mine online! NYX I think has a coupon code for free shipping on 25 dollar orders. So I bought a bunch of different stuff to try.
http://www.retailmenot.com/view/nyxcosmetics.com
There's the coupons they currently have going on!
Yep. The code is 'LM40OFF'. Here is one of her sites. Carrie has three now. I think she is trying to transition to her own storefront entirely. This is what her facebook says 'The new collection "Little Melancholies" is released. All weekend long receive 40% off your entire order of $10 or more using code "LM40OFF" across all store fronts, 40% off coupon expires 12AM EST Feb 3rd.
ALSO any order placed between Jan 31st through Feb 13th will be entered to win a $30 gift certificate to Notoriously Morbids new site. Drawing will take place on Feb 14th and winner will be announced here! Link to that site is in the comments.'
ImpulseCo has amazing iridescent & color shift eye shadows (which is good motivation to try new colors- I get into these color ruts where I don't try new things). Shiro Cosmetics has great colors and they're worth it for the names alone.

Include a question for me and I will answer it: opals or pearls?
Quelle coincidence- my order included the Starburst lip gloss! I haven't tried it out yet, but the quick arm swatch I did looked rather promising.
It's kind of like a treasure hunt. People make "caches" and hide them in a place of their choosing, then will post clues on the geocaching website on how to find them! Some just straight up point the coordinates, but either way it's fun when you find them. :)
Also it's completely free! Ther is a "premium edition" that I think has more caches or something, I'm not entirely sure what premium entails. But it's not required to pay anything to Geocache.
Here's a link to the website that might be able to offer more information!
I have a ton, and I really love them. They key to working with them (for me, at least) is to use a sticky base (I use NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk) and a synthetic brush. I hate using my fingers to apply, because I don't think the colour pay-off is as intense as using a synthetic brush, and I find it unhygienic. I'm obsessed with their colours though. I used Fantasy today! :)
Oh my gosh, I love this!! Is it possible for me to just enter in the long-term glam portion? I personally don't like how Sunbeam looks on me, haha! :P
EDIT: You HAVE to try this recipe for Yogurt Marinated Chicken with Greek Sauce. I swear this is sooo freaking good, especially on a warm pita! Phrase!: for the noms
When I was 12 I plucked my eyebrows for the first time. I ended up looking like Edith Piaf for quite a while. Anyway, welcome to RAoM! I'm sure you'll love it here!
mTurk is an Amazon program that lets you do little tasks like taking surveys, re-writing blog spam, and other computerized tasks for very small amounts of money. Like, maybe 25 cents for a survey, or a dollar for rewriting a blog post. There are other tasks like transcription, but I don't do a whole lot of those because the effort is greater than the money I'd make doing it. Anyway, there are tons of different sorts of tasks you can do, and most of them are mindless things you can do while you're watching TV or whatever. And though the money isn't great (and if you spend a lot of time doing it, you'll actually probably net lower than minimum wage), it IS something you can do a little at a time, as little or as much as you care to do. Then when you've built up some money, you can either have Amazon transfer it into your bank account or give it to you as a credit to your Amazon account. I've used it to buy my kids' Christmas presents before, just worked my ass off in the month leading up to Christmas, turking in my spare time, and then suddenly, it's added up to several hundred dollars. I burned out pretty badly the last time I did it, but I was doing it literally with every free minute. But doing a few surveys every day, if you're not in a huge hurry to make money, you could have that Lorac Pro palette within three months, easy. Probably sooner.

I agree with trying anything colourpop. I love their tinted moisturizer and you can find any color story of eyeshadow palette that you want to try! The going coconuts palette gets rave reviews for more natural looks!
Personally I think the most important "foundation" step for a natural look is finding a good moisturizer that makes you skin look/feel super healthy, in combination with a good exfoliating routine. Depending on your skin type you could google "best moisturizer for dry skin" etc.
For natural lip looks I love lip balms or stains. Burt's bees has some fun tinted balms that are also moisturing for winter, I also really enjoy stains like these ones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXXC5F8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_7Y.6Fb1Z1DK48 for a natural and easy look.
I second Essence lash princess mascara it's all I buy anymore :)
I also think and important part of "natural" looks is eyebrows, so finding a good eyebrow pencil/gel and tweezing/waxing as needed could be helpful too depending on how your brows look naturally :)

I will say they are from China. And I know some people are leery about using a random brand but I've had zero issues with these.
After way too much deliberation I would have to pick Sensual Silk! Firstly because of the tube (I mean seriously just look at it!) And secondly because I've been searching far and wide for a perfect nude and I think this might be it!

YSL Mystery Glammer
Edit: just realised that for some reason this is waaaaay more expensive on the UK Amazon site than it would be for me to get it in person? If by some miracle I'm lucky enough to win, perhaps we could sort a cheaper way of getting it because it just seems silly otherwise!
From Amazon! I bought two full sets, as well as two of these palette organizers.
Every color except taupe is on sale. This is being sold directly from ABH on Amazon.
I used to use a clear acrylic tray that I found in TK Maxx for my brushes before I dropped it and it cracked. A lot of home good stores like TK Maxx or Home Sense sell trays for organising cutlery which work well for brushes and small bits of makeup. Sometimes they have bigger trays which work better for displaying and organising perfume. Amazon also sells quite a few different types of acrylic storage like this which might be what you're looking for.
If you’re interested in learning about real color theory ‘The Interaction of Color’ written by Josef Albers in 1963 is considered one of the best books on the subject and is still widely used in art university classrooms today. You can find copies relatively inexpensively on Amazon. It’s a truly amazing book in how it describes the way colors interact with one another.

These are the brushes I used: Tenmon 10 Pcs Rose Gold Makeup Brush Set Professional Eye Makeup Brushes For Eyeshadow Concealer Eyeliner Brow Blending Brush Tool (Rose Gold) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CVHJT8L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3tZWEbRND0089 they’re pretty cheap on amazon I use the fluffiest one for base coat blending and then the rest of the blending is done with https://www.walmart.com/ip/M-DA-Crease-Professional-Makeup-Brush/55484769 from Walmart!
I'm sure you have, but have you tried a magnified mirror? A lot of makeup mirrors are regular on one side, and magnified on the other. I use my magnified side for really close up work, so it might help for you.
This is awesome :) Thank you so much for your reply! I've actually been reading a lot about CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). John Kabut Zin has a bunch of amazing book (The Mindful Way Through Depression, Wherever You Go, There You Are). I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder which lead to (still causes) a lot of sleeplessness (this is something I'm still trying to master). I find myself being very short with people so that is one thing I'm trying to change. I see a lot of overlap between CBT and DBT. Thank you again for sharing, it's greatly appreciated. Have a fantastic holiday :)
Undereye guards for eyeshadow/liner, like these
I feel like they're just super unnecessary. You could just use a blank flashcard as a guard or make your own.
Best gift I've received: I am a bit of an Alexander McQueen (fashion designer) freak. About three years ago, I mentioned to my boyfriend that I wanted this book about his work. It is a rather expensive book, and I never splurged on it for myself. For my last birthday, my boyfriend gave it to me. He remembered that book for three years! I cried. :)
Best gift I've given: I think the best gift I've given was to my mother. She collects "old Santas" - not those little models or dolls you can find in Joann Fabrics, but old antique things with Santa on them. She has a Santa cake mold from the 1930s, for example. Once while browsing in Goodwill, I got extremely lucky and found a very old silver Santa music box. She loves it, and he's become the centerpiece of her collection!
Rimmel Exaggerate liner is awesome !!! I use this all the time, like for about a year does not smudge at all. I keep buying it because it works ! And it's a drug store steal
I normally use NYX primer with NYX miilk as a base but I tried a few different ones with Shiro and got the same results. I also move them into little medicinal-like containers aha. I get mine from michael's crafts. (Tell your boyfriend to get these. They're amazing).
I want to try a lipgloss but I mainly only wear matte lip colors.

Since I work for Lush I promised some people I would do Lush masks, but I really want someone to do the weird bubble mask I've been hearing about (http://www.amazon.com/Elizavecca-Milky-Piggy-Carbonated-Bubble/dp/B00MWI2IS0) sorry for no link formatting, I'm mobile!
Happy Cake day!!!
IKEA has some great items to organize just about anything. I like using little plastic drawers to organize items. For example, I would use This to organize my makeup. Eyeshadow in one drawer, Lipsticks in another, and face items in the last. Not sure if that helps...
Thank you so much :D I use Maybelline gel liner in the color 'blackest black' for both the top and bottom. It's my favorite liner, I've used it for about 7 years. I started out with MAC's gel liner and found that the Maybelline one is equally as good and cheaper.
Asking questions is THE BEST. You'll never learn if you just keep doing the same things (which I know because thats exactly what I did for years).
My mom has glasses and really struggles with doing her eye makeup. She got a super magnified mirror which helps a lot. Also, travel size brushes may help since they have such shorter handles. These are what I have for when I'm traveling. They aren't AMAZING but they are pretty good :) For picture help, try taking them from a bit of a higher angle in natural light.
I recommend any of the mascara and this is my favorite palette of theirs! And the price is great! I play WoW!
I love love love the SkinFood Salmon Dark Circle Corrector in #1. I'm super pale and this covers my dark circles very well. I'm a full time worker with a five month old so you know I have some dark circles going on. A little goes a long way, but you the only downside is you really have to set it with powder because it's stays a bit tacky.
Would love to know some too.
I have this one on my wishlist but never actually tried it.
If anyone has it can you tell me if it's any good?
I have used and liked the Pixi Correction Concentrate that you can get at Target. I have also heard really good things about this Skinfood one but have not tried it yet.
If you're looking for the world's best face soap (espeically if you're prone to breakouts, like me) this is the holy grail: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap. It's just under $6 and lasts forever. It changed my life! I use it every day in the shower to cleanse my face and neck :-)
I was raised by my grandparents. Every morning my grandma would sit at her vanity and powder her face with Coty Airspun Powder, and every night she would remove her makeup with Ponds face cream. I remember her letting me put the powder on my face and letting me "remove" my "makeup".
Coty and Ponds still comes in the same packaging. I bet she used them most of her adult life:

This is the one I got but it's from the UK site, I'm sure there'll be an equivalent on yours! Good luck!

You can get Sugarpill Love+ through Amazon Prime.
Sugarpill is always my go-to for bright colors.
I think Ebony should work fine! I use the Ardell Duo Brow Brush to apply.
The steps are pretty easy but it takes practise to get the shape you like!
I spoolie my brows first to get them to go in one direction, then I draw the outline (shape) of the brow that I want.
I'll fill in from the back of the brow inwards so the inner of my brow won't be as harsh as the outer :-) Something like this! Haha I'm still far from an expert for my brows - but currently I like how it looks.
This is super cute!
Thank you for the great contest! :)
